Brick & Tin is officially a 10/10!!! Everything was SO fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I got the…read morebrisket panini with butternut squash soup, and I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. The brisket was incredible, and the soup was the perfect cozy, seasonal pairing. Someone else got the fall farro salad, and another got the patty melt with pasta salad, plus the apple cranberry margarita.... and everything looked and tasted amazing! This was the PERFECT lunch date spot. Everything felt fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor.

Brick & Tin was overall a good experience for Sunday afternoon lunch after church! We all ordered…read morethe sesame chicken bowl with edamame, and it was excellent. The grilled chicken had a flavorful, teriyaki-style sauce flavor, and the sticky rice combined perfectly with the crunchy toppings. Every bite had a great balance of crunch, - and savory flavor. When I got here, I noticed that we order at the cashier rather than having a server come to the table, but the staff at the front was genuinely patient and helpful in guiding us through the menu. The wait staff, also checked on us throughout the meal, which made the service feel attentive and welcoming. The restaurant has a wide-open layout with plenty of natural light, giving a relaxed chill atmosphere that feels comfortable rather than crowded or stuffy. The menu felt familiar and approachable, probably this place could be called good Americana-style food with something for everyone. They also had a tempting dessert selection, although we were too full from our meal to try any! Definitely a place I would gladly visit again, when I'm back in Birmingham!

I honestly believe the coffee here is better than any major franchise out there! It was so cozy and you could spend a day working on your laptop, watching a show or hanging out with friends and family while eating here! Side note: There are stairs to get to the front door of the place. It would be difficult for anyone who needs wheelchair assistance. I do believe there is a ramp on either side of the building however of the entire establishment however it's still pretty high up just from climbing the stairs. There is no outdoor seating, but there was enough seating indoors! They also serve snacks here!

I selected Kool Korner Sandwiches because sadly the main spot to get a good Cuban in Huntsville closed a few years ago, so it seemed like an opportune time to get that craving met. The location is a little nondescript and hard to see from the street (at least the way we came), but there's ample parking. Stairs lead up to a small front area (few chairs and tables for outside dining) and then into the somewhat dimly lit restaurant. It seemed clean inside and I liked the relative straightforwardness of their menu: sandwiches, a few soups, and some odds and ends like tamales, empanadas, and pastelitos. Counter service was exceedingly friendly and attentive to our orders, ensuring we got exactly what we wanted and offering to remove any topics we found offending. I got the chicken sandwich, while my mom got a traditional Cuban while my dad tried the medianoche sandwich. Most sandwiches (save the medianoche, which is served on sweeter egg dough bread) follow the standard Cuban toppings of cheese, mayo, mustard, and pickles on Cuban style bread; the main differentiator is your protein of choice. We were all very happy with our sandwiches. We each got regular size with chips; the full thing was plenty for me and my parents both saved half of each of their sandwiches for later. I tried a bite of each sandwich and they were all delicious in their own way. The cheese and mayo make it nice and gooey, but the bread, mustard, and pickles really make the sandwich -- such a distinct and delicious combination. None of the meats were dry, not even the chicken, and the bread was so nice and crispy (or soft, in the case of the medianoche). Although I definitely enjoyed my sandwich, I think the Cuban and medianoche were a little bit better -- I guess they're classics for a reason :) I just tend to not eat a ton of pork, but that's on me lol. I will say I didn't really care for their chip selection. It was mostly a combination of Voodoo and Golden Flake chips. I probably would've gone Voodoo if they'd had a standard flavor available, but they didn't, so I wound up with Golden Flake. I know that Golden Flake originated in Birmingham so I guess you gotta represent, but unfortunately I just don't really like the way their chips taste. I also ordered a cream cheese and guava pastelito for later. They forgot to bring it out with our meals but rectified it quickly when I went to ask about it before we left and gave me a to-go box with it. It was deliciously flaky and the guava was so yummy. I wished for a teeny bit more cream cheese but all in all it was a treat! Overall, a highly enjoyable experience here! I'd love to try some of the other "extras" like the empanadas and tamales, and of course I'd return for another sandwich too. :)

We ordered at the counter and our food didn't take long to arrive at our table for a party of 6. I had the old Smokey / no mayo and it was a well made sandwich. Nice flavor. I was looking forward to trying this sandwich , since I didn't get to try it during the Birmingham Restaurant Week preview party. I really enjoyed the beer battered fries as well. Others in my party had chicken finger plate, Cuban melt, chicken Parmesan melt and chicken salad melt. Everyone enjoyed their selections and had leftovers! I chatted with I'm assuming the manager and he was very nice. We enjoyed our recent experience here at Melt. The service , food and environment all made me want to come back soon.
