While on vacation, we scheduled the 1 1/2 tour on April 14, 2016. This is the second time we've ridden with this company and enjoyed it both times. I didn't submit a review the first time so I'll cover that one now too. My husband and I went the first time (no kids) and had a 2 seat side by side. I don't remember who my guide was, but he was great, joking around, took as many photos as we wanted. We did go a little slower the first time around because we had some newbies that had never ridden before, however it wasn't so slow that we didn't enjoy it. We made 2 stops with some great mountain views. This time we took our kids, ages 18 and 14 (girl and boy) and went on the 4 seat side by side. We've all ridden/driven 4-wheelers before so we're not new to this. We had a smaller group this time and everyone was experienced so it allowed us to go a little faster and do a little more riding than the last time. Our guide this time was Riley. He was great, very nice, took as many photos as we wanted and let us decide how long we wanted to hang at Bluff Mountain. We didn't stay long, so that allowed us more time to ride the trails. We had a blast.
Now the business side of it: You have to pay for the ride in Pigeon Forge and the staff both times was very nice. The directions were spot on - keep in mind that your GPS won't work going out the road, but their directions are very clear. If you ride once, they give you a 15% off coupon to use the next time you come back (yay us). You have 4 options to pick from. I'm deathly afraid of heights so I don't think I would ever go on the 4th option because they're very clear there are very narrow areas and rough terrain. The 3rd option (1 1/2 hour) is great for anyone who has ridden before and for kids that are able to take care of themselves in the back seat of the side by side. They may have a minimum age, not sure, but there are some areas where you will bounce like crazy so you want to be prepared. You will get very dusty and if there is water around, it is possible you will get muddy (the most fun part of it). The first 2 options are for kids and beginners, so the people that are complaining about how boring it was, should have probably ponied up the extra money and gone on the 1 1/2 hour tour. Yes, your money does not pay if you damage the equipment, that is extra. If you have a "true accident", I think they would be understanding, but the dude who complained he had to pay for a light and whined because of the "strikes" was most likely being crazy and deserved what he got. He should have gone on the tour for very experienced drivers and I don't think he would be complaining that he wasted money. I know that this is something we will most likely do every time we go back. My entire family all agree that the they enjoyed this the most. read more
