Chicken fried chicken and Meat lovers Melt

First timer! Food was pretty decent. Ordered the Chicken fried Chicken and the Meat Lovers Melt. Everything was Fresh And hot! A small diner for a quick bite with in and out services is always a win win for me. Our waitress was friendly also. Seating was decent and pretty much the regulars sworn the place. Check em out!

Food: always fresh cooked breakfast. I had the country fried steak and eggs (3), mashed potatoes instead of hash browns, and white toast. Perfect in every way Service: Crystal (and all the ladies) do a wonderful job of keeping you filled and happy Ambiance: nice small town cafe with down home dishes Overall: A+

Friendly and delicious! Casual dining, broad menu, GREAT selection of pies! Walked in and was greeted like a local. Glad to have tried this little diner.

We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. I grew up in the area, but hadn't been back to Blue's in over 20 years. I'm happy to report that it is still great! I had the B.E.A.S.T. (bacon, egg, avocado, swiss, tomato) sandwich. It came with a side of hash browns and was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. Their menu offers something for everyone and it was hard to decide. Our server was on top of things, and all the employees were friendly. Don't skip the pie! Can't go wrong with any of the flavors.

    BLT Club sandwich

My only regret is that we didn't save room to try the pie. The only benefit of that fact is that it gives us motivation to make it back again. After a morning walk/hike through the nearby state park, I did a quick Yelp search of nearby restaurants for a lunch spot. My eyes landed on the pictures of the food at Blue's, and we instantly knew it was where we had to go. There is a reason this place has been open since the 1950s. The food is simple and delicious, the prices are downright cheap, and the service is friendly. Even though it was prime brunch time on Mother's Day weekend, we were easily able to find a parking spot in the attached lot and grabbed a prime window booth. While all of the food looked and sounded delicious (including the specials of chocolate chip pancakes and chicken fried steak plates), we couldn't pass on the allure of the triple decker club sandwiches. I went for the classic BLT, and it was PACKED with crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, and American cheese. It was also dripping in Mayo, which is exactly how I like my BLTs. Salty, tangy and delicious. The side of crinkle cut fries were hot, fresh, and nostalgic. My husband went with a side of onion rings, and they were hand battered with an almost a tempura-like batter- truly delicious. Next time, we will try the fried cheese curds. Drink refills were easy to come by, and service was friendly and efficient. Ambiance was just what you'd expect for a 1950s diner. And, the price for lunch for two with a generous tip barely hit $30. All in all, you can't go wrong with Blue's.

My parents ate at this diner when they lived in the area. I have eaten there twice for breakfast, and it is delicious!

The flavors of their food has been consistently spot on and fresh, the service prompt and friendly, The decor is welcoming, clean, and calming. It was refreshing to discover they offer non-alcoholic cocktails as an option. Their recent collaboration with Chef Karla and her popular smash burgers for the evening menu was a smart move. Chef Karla has built a reputation in Kankakee at various venues, most recently at the now closed 8 One Five. My favorite sandwich is the Arch Enemy with its familiar but upscaled flavors of a popular fast food staple. She consistently comes up with off menu specialty sandwiches. If you aren't sure what to put on your burger order it "the Chef's way" and prepare to be satisfied

The service was very kind and prompt, and it was clear that the staff cared about our whole experience. Came here while visiting my sister, and she claimed this is their favorite local spot for both breakfast AND lunch/dinner! It certainly did not disappoint. They had about 5 specialty coffee drinks on the menu (all holiday themed). We got two (one peppermint and one gingerbread), and they were presented beautifully. For food we got a few breakfast sandwiches, European pancakes, a banana peanut butter toast, and some sides of bacon. All of it was VERY good and nearly all of it (including their bread) was scratch made. My favorite item was their croissant sandwich... if the croissants were homemade this place would easily have been a 5. All accounted for, I cannot wait to return for dinner. Thank you!
