The add-ins don't overpower the coffee taste. The pricing is pretty on par with similar shops. I also can't leave without an açaí smoothie bowl. They're perfect every time! This would be a great place to study or do remote work, as the interior has ample seating space. They always have relaxing music playing as well! I really can't say enough good things about this place. If you think Starbucks has good coffee, you really need to visit Awaken so they can open your eyes!

Dylan, the man who took my order, was super friendly and welcoming. Despite them being busy, he seemed to make a meaningful connection with each customer that came through. When I asked him questions he was more than happy to answer them. Rather than making me feel like an annoyance or "just another customer", he made me feel welcome. The cafe itself is busy, but not in an overwhelming way. If anything it is kind of exciting. There is no underlying current of stress and hurry in the air. Everything from the building to the upbeat music feels alive. I fell in love with the place before I even received my latte. And once I did get my latte? Mannn, I've got two words for you. Pistachio and tiramisu. Freaking genius. Truly the best latte I've had all year (and I drink a lot of lattes). Unlike many iced espresso drinks the flavor of the espresso was strong and flavorful. It was good, very good. And when the flavor of the espresso combines with the pistachio syrup, white chocolate, and cocoa powder? Forget about it. You're in a whole new world. Awaken cafe isn't just a coffeehouse, it's an experience.

There were a couple of teenagers working who greeted us warmly and served us swiftly. I had a double scoop of O-O-Oreo & Michigan Pot Hole. The Oreo was the typical cookies and cream you might find at Baskin-Robbins or the grocery store. The Michigan Pot Hole was chocolate ice cream with fudge and chocolate chunks that reminded me of Reese's peanut butter cups. Both were very good. I ordered the adult double, but in hindsight I should've ordered a kiddie scoop. The regular double is way too much. I didn't even eat most of the second scoop. The Michigan Pot Hole was good but it was much too rich. After awhile I started taking out the chocolate chunks. My sister had the Eskimo Kisses, which was coconut ice cream with chocolate truffles and fudge. She also had the Michigan Pot Hole. She didn't like the Eskimo Kisses but enjoyed the Michigan Pot Hole. My godmother had butter pecan on a cone. Again, there was a lot of ice cream but she enjoyed it. A coworker had been telling her to try PJs so she was happy to finally stop in. The location is spacious and clean. We sat outside since the weather was nice. I think it cost $25 for the three double scoops. My sister also gave the two teens serving the ice cream a $5 tip. I'd visit PJ's again in the future for sure.

The service was very kind and prompt, and it was clear that the staff cared about our whole experience. Came here while visiting my sister, and she claimed this is their favorite local spot for both breakfast AND lunch/dinner! It certainly did not disappoint. They had about 5 specialty coffee drinks on the menu (all holiday themed). We got two (one peppermint and one gingerbread), and they were presented beautifully. For food we got a few breakfast sandwiches, European pancakes, a banana peanut butter toast, and some sides of bacon. All of it was VERY good and nearly all of it (including their bread) was scratch made. My favorite item was their croissant sandwich... if the croissants were homemade this place would easily have been a 5. All accounted for, I cannot wait to return for dinner. Thank you!

This ice cream/popsicle shop is super clean. They have a dozen+ flavors of ice cream, including several flavors that are lactose-free (!!!), homemade popsicles and milkshakes. Between the group of us, we tried the strawberry (it tastes like sorbet), caramel, mammy (which I guess is a Jamaican fruit that tasted like creamy/milky strawberry), and guanabana (a Mexican fruit that is described as "strawberries and pineapple with a citrusy-tartness"). They were all crazy good! The small serving was huge and I think it cost us around $11 for the four dishes. The ice cream and popsicles are separated into "water-based" and I'm guessing, "milk-based" categories. I think it's awesome that there is finally a local place that can cater to those with a lactose allergy. I'm not sure however, if they have barrels of ice cream not in the case alongside the regular ice cream (depending on how severe your allergy is...). The teenagers behind the counter were very friendly and helpful when it came to describing the different flavors that weren't recognizable to us. We can't wait to go back!
