I use Blueline as my taxi service, whenever I travel by taxi in Leeds. As a whole, they are pretty reliable, and rarely do you wrong.
I do, however (living fairly further away than your average student), recommend calling before the jouney, just to ask for a quote.
There are taxi drivers who cheekily ask for more money than the company actually allows, just to make money for themselves. If this happens, I'd threaten to call their comapany (as recommended by the main office), which tends to bring the prices right back down.
I'd also recommend asking the main office what the norm cost is for your own area (say, into town etc) before getting into a cab, and that goes for any cab in Leeds, as well as this particular company (though this company is pretty well behaved), just so you know that you aren't being ripped off, especially when it's late at night, and everyone wants to go home.
I find the drivers, on the whole, very friendly and honest, and I will use them time and time again. read more
