I came on this website PURPOSELY to post this. What a freaking joke…read more It was New Years Day as you can tell by the post, I understand it's busy. We waited almost TWO HOURS for a taxi and they said to us "Just take the next one" turns out they didn't book us down though we were right there and when we tried to get into the next one they LOCKED THE DOORS and claimed they never said that. We had to force our way into a taxi until they took us home. Everyone in line told us to just take it because they knew how long we had been waiting. On a busy night, don't even bother. What a joke.

Just terrible. For…read morestarters the lady on the phone was rude and condescending. The conversation went something like this: Her: "Abc" Me: "Hi, can I have a cab for now please, I'm at X...." Her (before I finished) "what company name, I can't send a driver to there because theres 300 companies" Me: "Oh, I was just going to tell you, its Company Name" Her: "Thats booked" Me: "Thank you" She hangs up. Well, it never arrived. I phoned them and they said "we sent a taxi and you wasn't there". Trying to blame me - what the hell? I'd be standing outside the whole time and they know where it is. I'd taken a cab to office earlier that morning. The lady told me theres nothing they can do and that I'd miss my train if they sent another taxi out. If it wasn't for someone in the office coming to the rescue, I'd have missed my train back to London.

I've got mixed feelings about Oulton Cars after having used them twice. On the first occasion the…read moredriver seemed unsure about exactly how to drive and commented a few times that he wasn't use to driving such a big vehicle (it was a minibus). He was late and, we had a massive rush to get to our train. To cap it all he charged us more than we expected. Our second journey was better, the driver was pleasant and obviously knew how to drive. The controller had rung us to confirm our pick up time (although he was still a bit late) and we had mentioned the cost of our previous journey. The controller said she couldn't understand why we had been charged so much and, when we arrived home, we were pleasantly surprised as the driver charged us the proper fare AND gave us some money back from our previous journey. So, it may just be the one driver that spoils things for Oulton Cars which is a shame but as long as they are employing such people they are not going to score well on service or honesty.
