Iced Coffee Takeaway review. A highly rated restaurant on Yelp, however, the seating was full and we decided to go elsewhere. Later, I chose to return for an iced coffee takeaway. "Iced Coffee" means either an iced Americano or an Iced Latte. I chose the former. Before anyone took my order, I waited approximately five or six minutes. Since I was in no rush, I didn't mind. What impressed me was the number of servers who asked me if I was alright. The entry area bustled with the back and forth of servers providing water to the patrons. The dessert case looked tantalizing! I also noticed that all coffee drinks contain two shots! I was guaranteed a nice Americano. My time to order arrived, and not long after, I walked out with my very satisfying iced drink. My wife, my toddler, my sister-in-law, and I all stopped into the Blueberry Tearoom for lunch. Everything was great. They greeted my son with toys for him to play with, which was very nice, and were all around great with him. Service was very good in every other respect, too. I got their panini with chicken and bbq sauce. It was a good sandwich. Often, when you get cut up chicken on a sandwich, the chicken is very dry. Theirs wasn't. It was as moist as you'd expect from any well prepared whole chicken breast. We got baked goods to go. My wife got their famous (it's mentioned in at least a couple of travel guides) steamed chocolate pudding, which didn't disappoint. Smooth, rich, decadent. I went a different route, and after the person two people ahead of us ordered the last of my first choice dessert, I ordered the Biscoff rocky road bar. I'm so glad I did. While it may be a simple-ish dessert, I'd never actually tried one before, and it's entered my top tier of foods I like. But, since having it there, I've ordered it every place else I've been that sells it, which has been about five places (and I've started reviewing recipes to make at home), and while all the others have been good, none have executed it as well as Blueberry Tearoom. Stopped in for breakfast based off of Yelp reviews. We were NOT disappointed. I had the avocado toast that included a salad. It was DELICIOUS! My husband had a fruit scone and my son had the pancakes with strawberries and blueberries. Each meal was fantastic. My eggs were perfectly cooked and the salad accompanying the toast was so refreshing. My son LOVED his pancakes and the fruit was so fresh and tasty. Fabulous little restaurant in Donegal Town, steps from the Castle and in the middle of the action. Had potato leek soup, rich and temperature hot, with chunks of potato and leek. Brown bread is served on the side. Together a full lunch. They offer a half club sandwich with fries, perfect for a 12 yr old. The rigatoni special with bacon and asparagus was rich and delicious. Very popular cafe within sight of Donegal Castle. Excellent Yelp reviews led me here. As soon as you step in, you're tempted with a delightful case of freshly baked confections. The decor is precious - warm and inviting. While the daily specials are what drew us in, the regular menu offers quite a selection as well. On special that day was a trio of sliders (beef meatball, pork, and chicken) which I found enjoyable, but would not order again. My partner ordered the Seafood Chowder which featured a smoked haddock that day, and that was excellent. I'd come back just for that. Desserts there are very good. Well worth a visit, particularly if you're visiting Donegal. It may be worth calling ahead as seating could easily be cramped and/or your favorite baked good may be sold out before you arrive. read more

Walked by one day and said "This looks cute. I'm going there tomorrow for breakfast." So I did. ;) I stopped in for just a take away coffee and went on to tour the Castle that is just around the corner. And then I came back an hour later for a scone and they sweetly remembered me. The Blueberry has both sit down and take away - it is actually the most coffee-shop-like coffee shop I've seen yet in Ireland. Driving through Donegal on our way from Westport to Belfast (the long way!) we happened on the tearoom for a quick breakfast. Great story, turns out the fellow running the joint was on our flight from Seville to Dublin a few days prior, and gave us a good story to walk away with as we didn't recognize him, but he did us. I think the Blueberry is one of the best places for lunch in the town. It's not the cheapest but they seem to concentrate on quality instead of quantity. I think they're soup and 1/2 sandwich that comes with chips (that fries for all your Yanks reading) is a good bargain. The soup is freshly made that day on site (not prepackaged) and the 1/2 sandwich is a decent club sandwich and the chips satisfy my urge to get fried food! They're pies and deserts are pretty good too. To bad they're not open later in the evening for dinner. read more

Maybe it was the bike ride around Lough Eske that made the food here taste so delicious, but I don't think so. I had summer greens soup and brown bread, while my husband enjoyed veggie quiche and salad. Everything was delicious and the service was both prompt and pleasant. A lovely little tea room in Donegal! Its super cosy with tables close and a real country cafe decor. The menu is lovely, pretty much what you would expect from a small touristy town cafe. AND this is the place that changed my mind on porridge, I kid you not! After years of hating the wallpaper paste substitute, I indulged in the most delicious bowl in the Blueberry. I must admit, I was disappointed with the food offerings at 10.30 am on a Saturday morning in Donegal. That is, until I stumbled upon this cracker off The Diamond, just near the castle. The food's not classy, but it's hearty and cheap. The breakfast rolls with bacon, eggs, sausage and the like are fantastic. The coffee was unburnt and tasty. This café is best known for food which contains blueberries (hence the name!). Recommended is the blueberry crepe (pancake) although I thought it was a bit pricey. It's bang in the centre of the town near to the Castle so go early as it gets very busy 'cause all the tourists are told about this place by their tour guides. read more
