I enjoyed their Massaman Curry, it was quite favorable and authentic. The fries are particularly good here as well. Our service was excellent, even though things were crazy busy. Nice selection of local beers. Sophisticated cafe feeling. Great setting, and perfect for eating outside.

Delicious Food, all fresh ingredients. A must to try.. Home made tomato ketchup, sweet Potato Fries were yum. White Loaf Bread so light, and would love to eat every day..

Maybe one of my favorite lunches in Ireland. I ordered their meatball sandwich with sweet potato fries, and my beau ordered a pulled pork sandwich that came with chips. Both sammies were flavorful and plentiful, definitely good value. I also have to say that they nailed the sweet potato fries which I always appreciate.

Very nice environment and service. We had charcuterie and cheese board, goats cheese, chicken tacos, Atlantic cod and prawns. The board is very well served and there's plenty of food for two. Cod and goats cheese I don't think it was worthy or at least not at the same level as everything else. Prawns and chicken tacos were definitely the winners. Strongly recommend the restaurant, although 3 dishes are enough for two people.

Stopped in for breakfast. Great food, great staff. They even got me to like something I thought I wouldn't, black pudding. Not something that we have at home in the states so it has to be an acquired taste. Here it was great.

BLT had a weird and unpleasant flavor. Chips were stale. Quesadilla also wasn't that great and was too spicy. Prices also seemed a bit high.

Fresh and healthy superfood salads, juices, dairy free sweet treats, daily hot specials, 3fe coffee and teas - all offered with dairy free milk options. I had the superfood salad of massaged kale, chickpeas, and spiced cous cous (with cranberries, pomegranate and pesto) for lunch. For €7.50 it filled me up for the day and is far more exciting then the dull packaged leaves and uninspiring dash of olive oil salads you get in other establishments. These salads ARE the dish, not just a bit of green on the side - they demand your attention and don't disappoint on taste! Less than a 5 minute stroll from O'Connell St, in the summer it'd be lovely to get a salad to go at lunch time and eat it along the riverside. I imagine the menu will expand as the business does, as chef-cum-proprietor Carolanne is Ballymaloe trained and well travelled! They maintain an active social media presence @sweetbeatsligo and already have a loyal following of customers - including me! Watch this space, as it expands into something brilliant, its thrilling to see young businesses like this bringing the heart back into Sligo town.

The penne al salmone was a creamy tomato pasta with smoked salmon. This was saucy and so delicious! The fettuccine abruzzo was a creamy cheese sauce with pancetta, peas and mushrooms. Both pasta dishes were great. The garlic and cheese chips were also yummy. Service was efficient and friendly as well. Overall, awesome Italian food which exceeded our expectations.

I ordered the carbonara, but it was extremely salty and eggy -- I only managed three bites before I let the staff know it wasn't edible. Instead of offering to replace the meal or help in any way, they just took the plate without saying a word. No one checked in, and no effort was made to resolve the issue. Then, to top it off, I was still charged €10.50 for the dish I couldn't eat. When I asked for the manager, a staff member said she was the manager, but never introduced herself or showed any care about the situation. She said I was charged because I "gave back the food." It's not about the money -- it's about the complete lack of customer care or professionalism. We left extremely disappointed and won't be returning. I wouldn't recommend Rugantino to anyone.

Since we weren't exactly mixing it up with multiple nights at similar pubs, it was essential to add some variety to our ordering. Not that I couldn't eat roast every night, but the wife needed a few more choices. It was no problem here, and being on the first level plenty of fast, efficient wait staff. The only problem is what to order. If Irish Pubs are typically like the American Diner, the choices at The Belfry are like Cheesecake Factory! So much food, only two rugby match halves! My wife singled out the lamb stew on the way in the door, so she was locked in from the starting gun. I was torn but not going to veer too far from something huge-meat. I almost, almost got the Marc's Baked Ribs. A last second check-swing; I chose the Joint of Sherlocks Irish Beef. If it sounds like you'd be down for the count after consuming that, you'd be right. Way better than an earlier roast dish in another town, it restored my faith in that Irish pub staple. Back to those ribs, the table next store got them and I definitely had order envy. As if I weren't headed toward the coma cliff at 79 kph (nod to all you metric lovers which I'm not), I decided to put the pedal to the floor when after spotting the beer flight poster on the wall. Even better, you could pick any three! I'm in: light to dark. All local, of course I'm a tourist so one choice had to be Guinness. Thank goodness my wife is terrified of me driving in the left because I could do with the nappy-nap on the way to the coast. Nice all around time here, exceeding my expectations and dispelling any leeriness of a tourist trap. I'll return if I can on my next trip to the Mecca of Sligo.
