Hidden gem in south jersey. Bring your pup, bring your kids, or go alone. A variety of trails for every skill level and beautiful scenery.

    Hiking trail

Trail was well maintained and could easily accommodate a stroller, but there must be a shooting range nearby. We cut our hike short because it was so unpleasant to hear the sporadic gunshots. Such a shame because the woods were lovely. Will not be returning.

My dad and I (he's 73, I'm 38) went biking on these trails and had an awesome time. There are trails interwoven into the quarry, but you've gotta be careful. Sharp drops on either side in places. Ambience is EMPTY. We saw 3 people on a 9 mile bike trek (not including the ball fields).

Some friends of mine who have hiked in the area for years recommended Blueberry Hill, so we set out last weekend to escape the hustle and bustle of the city with a nice hike. The terrain here is just the thing for either bicycle riding or hiking, with trails that fill the bill for both activities. The trails in the area are well-maintained; most of them both paved and accessible by the handicapped, regardless of the their elevations. You'll find miles of both dirt and paved trails here; stairs allow you to ascend the hill and at the top you'll be rewarded with some excellent views of both the Philadelphia skyline and the beautiful area surrounding Blueberry Hill. Parking here is plentiful and easy; there are also benches for relaxing and charging your batteries.

This is the main steps at the top you can see the philly skyline

Cool walk just wish it had a lake but views are nice you can see philly from the top of the steps

Nice short easy hike, with a little bit of elevation in the South Jersey area. Took us 30 min round trip.. so shorter than I was looking for but not downgrading the rating due to that. It is pretty well maintained, paved all the way to the top of the hill where you get views of the quarry. Nothing special, but when you're in South Jersey, it's as good as it gets lol. I liked this one better than Black Run Preserve. Very dog and kid friendly. Just be mindful and pick up after your furbabies! But my pup loved meeting all the dogs he saw along the way that day. Bike trails there and various trails off the main paved path so you can make it as long as you'd like being out in nature. Small parking area right at the start of the trail but there was enough space for us on a Saturday afternoon. Nice trail if you're in the area and just want to get out, take a walk and enjoy nature without having to drive far for a little hike.

I really enjoyed this trail. I loved that the main trail was paved and there were lots of other unpacked trails to explore too! Everything was well maintained and there were some great places to sit or picnic along the way.

A really cool & peaceful place and trails esp at the top of 'the hill.' We've been here twice and still haven't seen the views of Philly so I'm not sure what's up with that?! The dunes/canyon? or whatever the heck it is - is a site to behold and we even saw guys riding a quad type of vehicle at this past visit. I love walking and being in nature overall and get sick of my development and usual parks so this is a new one to add to the routine. I can't see getting tired of it any time soon. I don't recall seeing tables/benches to bring a picnic or snacks but that is the only thing that doesn't float my boat about this park.

Blueberry Hill Trails are the perfect trails for any novice hiker or advance walker. I recently wanted to get some energy out of my two dogs and didn't want to circle to neighborhood or run around a dog park which is how I ended up discovering Blueberry Hill Trails. The trails can be found off Haddon Ave. There is a small parking lot which leads you to a foot path. Biking, hiking, and dogs on leases are encouraged. The majority of the trails are paved with a few "off trail" options throughout the trail. The trails are pretty flat but do have a few inclines, but nothing that will make you too out of breath. Although the main trail is short, you can take different paths to extend your time here. On a nice day expect plenty of walkers and alot of dogs! On top of Blueberry Hill you'll be able to see the Philly skyline in addition to some cannon like views. Looking forward to many more walks at Blueberry Hills!

Really nice park. Not too challenging so suitable for all ages. Great place for a bike, dog walk, or casual stroll. There's a handful of scenic overlooks, nothing breathtaking, but appreciated nonetheless. I recommend checking it out, chances are strong you'll want to return.

Hiked here with some friends. It was a great trail, had some elevation in spots but overall was easy to traverse. Highly recommend!

A fun place to walk! Sections are a little hilly. The sand quarry is very cool. A great option for getting outside safely.

Great wide trails. Scenic. Some elevation. View the city from peak. Trails can be messy days after precipitation.

Hard to rate an entire park this massive, but all things considered, after 5 years of traversing the trails here, this is an awesome park. Note that I live in U-City, so the fact that such a massive trail system exists in only a ~20 minute drive, depending on which part of the park I start in, is a blessing and keeps my sanity. Friends of Wissahickon does a great job maintaining trails and even expanding the system over the past few years. I don't think I've ever observed an unseemly part of the park. Definitely unseemly times of year like the snow thaw or the time between the trees dying and the snow falling, but otherwise, this park is beautiful all times of year. I've never had a hard time parking, never even had trouble with crowds even around the most popular trails (ex. Forbidden Drive). Even the bikers are friendly and patient here! Would strongly recommend not only visiting but coming back to keep exploring! I'm still finding new gems in this massive trail system.

What I've known about Devil's Pool is that it's been a popular hangout spot, especially for teens and young adults--swimming, drinking, smoking, etc. But I wasn't prepared for how disappointing the trail would be. At nearly every turn, there was trash--plastic bottles, wrappers, and even entire black garbage bags just left behind. The closer I got to Devil's Pool, the worse it got. There are clear signs asking visitors to take their trash with them, yet so many clearly don't. It's really disheartening to see such a beautiful natural space disrespected like that. Instead of feeling peaceful or connected to nature, it honestly felt a bit unsanitary and neglected. Wissahickon Park deserves better. If you visit, please respect the space and take out everything you bring in.

I liked the Parcourse FitCircuit, which is a circular path with stations where you can stop and do exercises at various intensities and difficulties. There are bars for doing pull-ups as well. There is even a bike fixing station with tools to fix your bike or pump air into the tires. The circuit is near a baseball field and a playground. There are trees around the area where you can probably walk around a bit to feel like you're in a forest. You won't get lost though because they're right next to homes. I would definitely come back here.

Lindenwold Park is a good starting place to hike the Camden County Parks Trail Network. From the parking lot follow the paved path towards Gibbsboro. For the parents: The playground is broken up into several sections. There are some non-traditional pieces such as the train or the ferry boat. Terrific offerings if you are a kid and have a basic imagination. There are also three separate, more traditional areas with the standard tower like climbing areas, multiple slides and crawling areas but with lots of different colors including pink, baby blue and goldenrod. There are also two swing sets, side by side and a plastic see-saw. The playground is in an area that is 230 feet by 80 feet. The entire area is mulched.

There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! They were helpful but without being intrusive. One of them carried one of my forearm canes in his backpack in case I needed it. (This was to have one hand free for the ice axe.) The hike was great. At the end of the hike I asked one of the guides if he thought I could do the repelling they offer... he conferred with the owner and the lead repeller guide, and they agreed that I would be allowed to do that in the Spring. I highly recommend Valley to Summit for a great time. I look forward to a full day ice hike in February.

This park pretty much has everything; playgrounds, open spaces, ball fields, basketball courts, a hiking trail (allegedly...we couldn't find it, but that was most likely our fault,) walking paths, etc, etc. Despite being so large, it's also rather connected, if that makes sense, and you're able to get to everything relatively quickly. The park is more "open" than "large." For example, you can get from one playground to another, without having to take a trek. There is a ton of space, but you're able to traverse the space to navigate the park. There's also plenty of parking. Also, they do drive in movies and stuff here, AND, it's dog friendly, so there aren't too many negatives. The only "downside" I could see is that it got pretty busy, and just being crowd-phobic by nature, it's less than ideal for me. We'll definitely be back early and often.
