The playground is suitable for all ages with toddler swings/harnesses on one side of the playground and teen/adult swings on the other side. There are 2 different setups right next to each other. One is for older children and the other is for the younger children. The younger setup is arranged like a ship. There are 2 slides attached and some activities. The 2nd setup has multiple slides with multiple levels. The only way to get up to level 3 is by ladder, but the 2 slides on that level are pretty fun. I would say the playground is more for ages 3+, but fun can still be had by all. There are fields all around for football, soccer, or any other sport you can think of. Parking for the playground is limited with about 15 spots, but you can park on the grass all around the playground.

The play area for older children has a very high slide and smaller slides for younger kids. There are swings for older children and bucket swings for the littles. The whole area has rubber tire below, so falls are not near as bad. There is a small rock climbing wall, ropes, and a good variety of things to do. The only time you want to avoid the park is on really hot days midday. The playground isn't at all shaded, so it can get very hot. There is also a pavilion area right next to the playground that is nice for having lunch. There are bathrooms there as well. In the summer, the ice cream truck is almost always there, so either bring cash or prep your kids that you won't be getting ice cream. haha! There are also fields all around the playground where you can walk the path, pull kids in a wagon, or ride on a bike as my kids like to do.

The red and purple trails were my favorite. On my second trip here I wanted to hike for about an hour but I ended up getting lost. Lost in terms of I want to get out but I don't know which way is the exit...I could definitely see the trail markers all throughout though! I recalled seeing a red color marker at the entrance so I followed that but ended up going deeper into the woods. I don't believe the white trail is fully finished as I had to double back a few times. I used google maps to get a sense of where I was but still couldn't make my way to the main road. Went in circles between the blue and green trails (the green trail said it was a 5K, not going to lie I got a bit worried there) but eventually I managed to make my way to Bortons road! and then it was another 30 min walk to my car along kettle run road. So what was supposed to be an hour nice weekend stroll ended up being 2 1/2 hours. Can't complain though, loved exploring!

We decided to explore Black Run Preserve for our first bike trail experience since moving to the area and it didn't disappoint. There are plenty of bike and hiking trails and doing a little research online prior to going I was able to map out which trails would be best for us, specifically since I'm a nervous beginner lol. The trails are color coded and tbe associated color markings are on trees along the trails so you know which trail you're on. There is so much beautiful scenery surrounding you whether you're on bike or foot and there's a real sense of peace and tranquility in the Preserve, Definitely spray yourself down with bug repellent and wear longer pants and tops if it isn't too hot because there are warning signs for ticks and such given it's truly a wooded area. We will be back in the fall for another ride among the beautiful foliage.

Fort Medford is a playground located in the Township of Medford within the wider footprint of the…read moreBob Meyer Memorial Park. The playground is a bit nestle in a discreet neighborhood. Living in Central Jersey, we decided to visit the playground after our trip to the Cherry Hill Mall down in the Southern New Jersey region. Firstly, Fort Medford is unique in style and variety of playground equipment, notably in the wooden castle/fort-like structure that serves as the focal piece of the overall playground. This structure provides several towers/turrets that reach about 7-9 feet high that is accessible through the built in steps. These towers are then mostly connected via wooden walkways or other playground obstacles that bridge the gap between the different towers, which then range from rope to bars that challenges the navigator's balance and dexterity (level of difficulty varies and may not be suitable for toddlers). There are also a variety of slides built in with this structure along with different swing sets available throughout. However, younger children can play in a more modern playground set that is a part of the overall playground area. The area and size of the playground is vast relative to other playgrounds that we have been to, and is comparable in size to the Regatta Playground (by Turtle Back Zoo) in North Jersey. This modern playground set is arguably a little less intimidating when it comes to the height for children and offer similar playground amenities (slides/obstacles). For adult consideration purposes, there is a brick-and-mortar restroom facility as well as a covered pavilion which can be used as a shaded/resting area with tables. Overall, this is a great playground for families to take their children to enjoy.
