Upon walking in the smell was phenomenal and I was excited ... but that excitement quickly faded as I saw pretty empty refrigerated cases and struggled to find a menu. Even after finding the menu it was absolutely underwhelming . My bf made up a sandwich he wanted to have them make and I decided to go with the roast beef sharp provolone and horseradish wrap but with an Italian roll instead of a wrap. The roll was about 6 hours away from being stale and I had to add my own balsamic glaze and roasted red peppers at home to give the sandwich some life. My bf enjoyed his sandwich way more than I did but did say it wasn't anywhere near as good as the market sandwiches were used to up north. Oh and the customer service was mid at best. There's no organization as it pertains to a line or ticket system so it's a little confusing too.

The staff and the atmosphere is so inviting and down to earth and then comes the food! I was greeted with a sampler pickle board for free so I could try different things which was amazing and then I ordered the pickle soup, the fried pickles, and the pickle hoagie and I couldn't stop eating because everything was so tasty. Gabbi, the owner, shared with us her passion to serve and what they do to care for the community, which is amazing and then we had one of the best servers, Teresa, and a super nice person that checked us out as well and I'm sorry I did not get her name. Definitely make this a destination or if you're driving by your stop. You will not be disappointed!

Teresa greeted us when we walked in ( as she did for everyone that came in). We picked a table to sit at. Teresa gave us a sampling of pickle slices, with some unique flavors like green apple jolly rancher flavor! They server half pickles with toppings or hoagie pickles and pickle pizza! The pizza was so delicious! Dill pickles on a cauliflower crust with mozzarella...it blew my mind. Then had a pickle stuffed with chicken bacon ranch! WTF...so good! And not to mention the fresh fried pickles with 2 dipping sauces. This little place on the corner by the Croyden train station packs a huge punch! Awesome!!!

It could definitely have been split so he lied.second of all it was a little gritty and not as clean as I would like, the bathrooms were disgusting. The corn on my platter was old and inedible. The clams were rubbery and tough. You do go to the counter to get your food yourself, but I figured they would clear the table for us, especially since I tipped them $10 but as I was walking out the door, the counter guy yelled at me." hey you need to throw away your trash!" it was very embarrassing, and I had neatly piled my plates and trash so that it was an easy cleanup and I figured they would have to wipe the table anyway, but now knowing how nasty it is in there, they probably don't wipe the tables. I do not recommend nor will I ever go here again. To top it all off I spent more time in the bathroom afterwards than I would like.

Happy 2025, Yelpers! I was surprised that I hadn't reviewed The Tubby Olive so here it is…read more.. When The Tubby Olive had left their space some time ago at the Reading Terminal Market (see my review!) I was quite disappointed as it was a very regular stop for me to get my fair share of olive oil and flavored balsamic dressings. But, their main shop in Newtown, PA is not too long of a drive to continue to make the trip to get my oils and balsamic. Also, Newtown has some other great shops and restaurants so it makes for a nice day trip. Tubby Olive has dozens of oils and balsamic in all kinds of awesome flavors stored in metal tubs that allow you to sample every single one if you so desired. They have two main sizes of bottles, but then they also have tiny bottles for some nice gift sets already put together. You can sign up for the frequent customer discount where after nine bottles your tenth is free. The store is quaint with old wooden floors and I've never had any bad customer service. I tend to rotate between the Traditional 18-Year Balsamic and the Fig Balsamic, and for oils they separate them between mild, medium, and robust. I tend to like the different mild oils and choose one on the spot after trying them. I'm more than happy to give Tubby Olive my business. You should, too. Very quality products. Prices have risen in recent times, but I still come back. Large bottles are about $40 and regular $20.

I also like how you can taste them before you buy. No matter what you like you will be able to find a vinegar that matches your pallette and dish that you are cooking. As far as Olive Oil, we prefer the robust blends but they have medium and mild as well. They are always mixing it up so they have a big variety. They also have infused olive oil. I like the blood orange to mix with the fruit infused balsamics for a salad dressing. You can shop in the store store if you like samples. They also ship and have the same selection on line. So if you cannot make it into the store, you can still order their great products. The bottom line is it is worth the drive to browse the store and sample the selections. This is the place to get all of your olive oil or balsamic vinegar.
