Always a great spot 2 go & clear ny thoughts while being by water. * I live, therefore, I love*

I've always loved walking around the river but on my last trip I discovered the dog park and larger longer nature trails! I've been coming here for years and had absolutely no idea these two things existed! They were so tranquil and easy to follow and the dog park is clean and wasn't too crowded (I have a shy dog so it greatly depends on if I let her into dog parks or not) she loved the trials the most since they were pretty much empty and I loved seeing all the wild life like turtles and birds. I definitely plan on trying out the trails again it was huge so I didn't get to see it all the first time.

Had a nice walk around the park with my son and the dog. It's a park. Nothing special per se. But reliable and nice.

Cooper River Park runs through Cherry Hill, Pennsauken, Haddon Township and Collingswood and covers approximately 346 acres. It is home to the Camden County Boathouse. The River is a hub for recreational and competitive rowing that includes local High Schools, State, National, College and masters regattas. It is one of the better rowing venues in the country and tops in our area. This is due to the sheltered straightaway 2000 meter course on water with a low current. The Park has something for everyone and plenty of room for it all to happen without impacting the other activities in progress. There are 2 softball fields, a 3.8 and 1.35 mile path for walking, running and biking, a dog park, fishing, a 1 1/4 mile cinder track, numerous picnic areas some with Pavilion or Gazebos, indoor restrooms, boat ramps for non-gas boating (Kayak/Canoe), a Yacht club for sailing, playground, Ice Skating rink in the winter and a restaurant (Cooper House). All this with the skyline of Philadelphia in the background. The park has plenty of parking available on the Pennsauken side of the river and is located close to a number of great local restaurants where you can fuel back up after enjoying your favorite outdoor activity.

Cooper River park is undergoing some changes. They finally have at long last finished the construction on the North Side. There are more improvements to come. Cooper River is fairly big park, the loop around the river is 3.8 miles. Camden County has done a nice job with this park over the years and there is a lot going on. There are the regattas and the beautiful Rutgers Camden boat house. There is the Marina, the playgrounds, the ball fields and running track and the new Cooper House. They have done a nice job with some of the inner areas also. There are some memorials sights along the park as well. A driving range is at the far West end and there used to be mini golf and chip and putt just across Cuthbert on the North East end. This has been torn down in 2016 and I am not sure what the plan is for this area. There is also a dog park at the far North East area near the back of the Subaru building. I ride my bike up there often and most cyclists use the road. The runners and walkers don't like bikes on the inner path so cars keep that in mind please. I have run around the loop also and there is a dirt trail too to ease on the leg pounding. There are also picnic areas and port a pots. All in all with all the visitors the park attracts the County does a nice job keeping the place clean. On a clear day there are also some great views of the Philadelphia skyline from the walking bridge over route 130 and Cuthbert Blvd.

Beautiful Serene and Peaceful Park by the water. I look forward to coming out and enjoying the beautiful weather or taking a nice walk around the park.

Cooper river park is most popular for running and walking especially during the warmer months. There is a paved path all around. There has been a lot of construction going on for years which makes the traffic on 130 even worst than it already is. Though it is a nice park and clean (no trash laying around) I would like to see it powerwashed more often if at all. There is a section by one of the pavilions near route 130 that is gross to walk by due to all the geese droppings. There are atleast 3 lots for parking as well as street parking. Along the path, you will find benches and picnic tables facing the lake which can make for a cute romantic spot and perfect for a picnic on a nice day. They have a nice playground area but I find it to be too over crowded during peak times and avoid it at all costs. There are plenty of small pavillions with picnic tables in close proximity to the playground. This makes for an easy pizza dinner for the kids and playing after. Plan to hover over your child during playtime, otherwise you may lose them. Overall, I prefer this park to run or walk. Especially in the spring, after hibernating all winter.

Four years later, I still find myself driving here from time to time to do the old running route. Besides that, I run through the park on an almost weekly basis, as it is part of my running clubs 12 mile Sunday run. The park is open and welcoming. A year or two ago volunteers built the Build Jake's Place, a "boundless" playground which welcomes children of all abilities and disabilities. During my most recent visit to the park this past week, I noticed that a second new playground area is being built. (I can't find the info now, but I think I read that it is going to be a softball/baseball field of sorts, again for all children, regardless of ability/disability). The park also includes a quarter mile track, restrooms, bocce court, a basketball court, and baseball field. There is also what appears to be a soccer or football field set back behind a wooded area that I have not ventured to, but I often see games being held there. A short walk to the other end of the park brings to to an area of the Cooper River, and a large grassy field area where one could spread out and relax. For the runner or walker, there are also some trails, which Cherry Hill Township has been making a point of maintaining in the last year or two, and has encouraged people to take advantage of these areas. I only recently ventured back in these trails, and they are really beautiful, well maintained, and not long or complicated enough to get you lost. If you prefer the roads, a lap around the entire park (Caldwell Road, Park Blvd., Kings Hwy., and back into the park on Bortons Mill) is about a 1.25 mile run. The park area is also home to the old Croft Farmstead, but I'll be honest... I don't know what goes on in those buildings, just that it's a historic area in the township. One thing the township/county needs to improve are the restrooms. On the occasion that they are actually open, they are absolutely awful. Smelly, filled with graffiti, no paper towels, and just filthy. The water fountains could use some upgrading, too... they are forced to be turned off in the winter because they don't utilize no-freeze technology, and in the summer the water is just hot, and therefore useless to an overheated endurance runner. If the park could fix either one of those things, they'd easily be a 4 or 5 star park in my eyes.

Knight's Park is an excellent place for a daily walk, jog, or run, and it consistently feels safe and comfortable to spend time in. Being located right across from a high school adds a familiar, lived-in neighborhood feel. It also brings back personal memories; I used to spend a lot of time here growing up around 8 or 9 years old, either alone or with a friend, just passing time and enjoying the space without much thought. Even now, I still get the occasional urge to go back for a walk, even though I live closer to other parks. That says a lot about how comfortable and pleasant the environment is. It also works surprisingly well for casual social settings, including a low-pressure first date walk where the focus is just conversation and being outside rather than anything overly structured.
