We had a fantastic experience on a Saturday morning picking blueberries. We drove out from Orlando and it took us about 40 minutes to get there. Their website suggests using google maps as it's the only one that will take you straight there. When we were close, we started seeing "blueberry picking" signs which were helpful. You cannot see the fields from the main road. Once we arrived we found parking easily on a trimmed grass lot in front of the fields. All of the fields are walkable, however they were kind enough to golf cart us out. At the time we went they offered 3 conventional varieties at $4/lb and one organic variety at $7/lb. They recommend tasting the blueberries before committing. Both are a steal compared to farmers market, market or supermarkets prices. They provide buckets you can tie around your waist in which to drop your berries while picking. Things to know before you go: wear light clothing (long sleeves) and closed toe shoes. It's a farm and you're using your hands to grab blueberries off bushes. This will protect you from the occasional bug and stray branch and keep you cool. A wide brimmed hat, sunscreen and gloves are a good idea, too. Especially for children who will really enjoy this experience. They sell drinks like water and soda. You may want to bring your own and maybe even bring some lunch. Though we opted to head over to Clermont for some fish and chips afterwards. They offer porta potties and hand washing stations onsite. I personally hate porta potties but it's better than nothing! We found the staff amiable - uncle Roy and Bonnie were great. Enjoy!

The boys loved it! Free popsicles too!

We stopped here twice this week as we were heading to the west coast and on the way back east. On…read morethe way west, we scouted what they had as we were just getting ready to eat lunch at the restaurant next door. They have a bit of everything --both fruits and veggies. And pretty much what you'd need if you were cooking -- or bringing a gift. I especially liked the blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries. All the berries were gorgeously colored and looked like a photograph. The local strawberries were available by the half flat as well as the pint. We, however, fell in love with the beautiful beefsteak Ruskin tomatoes. On the way home, we got some red ripe ones (for salads and sandwiches) and some green ones (with which to make fried green tomatoes). We haven't had the green ones yet, but we sliced one large one as soon as we got home, added crispy bacon and mayo between two slices of white toast. Oh my. So delicious! Just what a tomato should really taste like. Now we regret not buying a few more... But we will know where to stop next time we are driving through town..,

We stopped for lunch early at an adjacent Catfish Restaurant and decided to look around before eating. Lots of local shoppers and their families. Beautiful arrangement of veggies and "SugarSweet" fruits throughout. We will be stopping back on our return trip south for some Dutch made Apple Butter and some Ruskin Beefsteak tomatoes!
