We, however, fell in love with the beautiful beefsteak Ruskin tomatoes. On the way home, we got some red ripe ones (for salads and sandwiches) and some green ones (with which to make fried green tomatoes). We haven't had the green ones yet, but we sliced one large one as soon as we got home, added crispy bacon and mayo between two slices of white toast. Oh my. So delicious! The store is clean and well-organized and they change up their displays frequently. Yes, there are flies buzzing around the produce but this is an open air market so it's to be expected. Not all of the products are local to Florida but you will find brands not found at most large supermarkets. Two of my favorite products of all time are sold here: Jake & Amos Beets and Jake & Amos Vanilla Peaches. I also enjoy periodically picking random dressings and sauces to try. Though I miss the farmer's markets immensely, and can't wait to visit their booth to pick out my own produce, I can trust each farm box to contain high quality, tasty, and safe organic produce.
