Traveling from out of state, this was one of the places I circled on my map, hoping reality would match the stories. Somehow, it was even better. The blueberry latte was the kind of drink that slows time. Bright and refreshing, sweet without trying too hard, tasting like a morning walk through a Michigan orchard after the rain. Around me were cases filled with treats and shelves stacked with jams, syrups, and every blueberry creation imaginable, each one carrying a little piece of the region's soul. There is something beautiful about a place that chooses one simple thing and perfects it. Bowerman's does not merely sell coffee--it celebrates harvests, local traditions, and the quiet joy of gathering around a table. The first time around I ordered a chocolate-covered (giant) frozen banana with a sprinkles-crunchies combo reminiscent of a crunch cone from Dairy Queen. It was the perfect pizazz-y add-on to this "healthier" choice. As for the second time, I ordered a dirt worm sundae, which I haven't seen on a menu order since I was 10. I loved that combo of vanilla soft-serve, chunks of Oreo, hot fudge, and gummy worms. The only change I'd make would be a smaller portion of ice cream to even out the proportions. There will be a third time, and the question is whether I'll say "yes" to a frozen cheesecake slice. Stay tuned...

They have a lot of unique sundae options, which made it surprisingly difficult to choose. I ended up getting the Peanut Butter Shipwreck with vanilla ice cream, and it was delicious. The ice cream-to-topping ratio was perfect, and the combination of hot fudge and cold ice cream brought everything together really well. It was also very reasonably priced for the portion size. My only critique is that I expected it to be made with hard ice cream rather than soft serve. That said, the soft serve was still very good. It does melt pretty quickly, though, so don't wait too long before digging in. There's plenty of outdoor seating, and they even have a mini golf course in the back. The whole place has a fun, laid-back atmosphere and is a great spot to hang out with family and friends. Their soft serve cones also looked incredibly good and picture-worthy, so I'll definitely be trying one of those the next time I visit.

I drove up and loved the spacious parking lot. Walking in, the bakery was well lit and clean, and a bit overwhelming. They had so many kinds of baked goods, including some Dutch specialties like banket. (I honestly have no idea what that is but I know it's a Dutch pastry.) You can order 2, 3, 5, or 12 tenders at a time, and you can get them as a combo (with fries and a drink) or just by themselves. I opted for two tenders, one plain and one with original dry rub which is kind of like a ranch flavor. I also ordered a Diet Coke. The food didn't take too long to come out, and the tenders were hefty and super crispy. I liked the dry rub, but I think I'd just go with plain next time because they have the most delicious honey mustard. The Diet Coke was also super crispy and this was such a nice snack. They also have a menu of breakfast options like egg sandwiches, bagels, avocado toast, etc. The lunch menu is rounded out with salads, sandwiches, and mac and cheese. If I lived nearby I think I'd be a regular here!
