I'll assume this is the BlueWater at Naples Bay Resort. . . This review is only for the BlueWater Bar & Grill in the pool area. There were a few people eating/drinking, yet the majority of tables and bar stools were vacant.
My friend and I sat today at 1.30pm for lunch. Our drinks were fine. We had ordered watermelon salad to share and two black bean burgers.
Our plates came out as enormous portions. The sweet potato fries were delicious and the burger was absolutely disgusting. It was filled with onions and green peppers and mushy. I was unable to eat it. My friend barely touched hers, as well. We waited ... and waited ... and waited for our server (man) to come over. By the time he did show up he had taken our plates and said he would fix it. I did not know what he meant, yet I was looking to order something totally different. The watermelon salad never came out to begin with and I was hungry for something healthy. Instead he took another 30 minutes to come back with the check and took one of the black bean burgers off the bill.
What should have happened?
1- deliver salad first, split at table or in kitchen, but at least show up with the salad.
2- asked how our meals were after a few minutes instead he was no where to be found. I was not going to go looking as I was in a lengthy conversation.
3- when my plate was taken he should have asked me what I would like instead of the gross onion/ green pepper burger. Instead he assumed that I was filled up and fine with fries only.
4- come to the table instead of disappearing. I actually needed to leave much earlier, but could not because the check was not present to pay.
5- when the check was finally dropped after I found him to remind him to bring it he did not excuse the poor food (or himself as an absent server). He should have taken off both burgers since we both didn't eat them.
The price of bill wasn't really the point. What's more to point is that we didn't eat a healthy meal we had sat down to do. We both ate our sides and drank our drinks. The protein and salad were a miss.
Again, they were not busy and there were quite a few servers working so I don't know what happened. Just sharing with you so if that if and when you dine there you can go in prepared. Better yet, eat ahead of time and use the bar for what it is... a bar. For me, next time I go (and I'm there often), I will just stick with my lemonade and not deal with the rest. read more
