WOW!!! FABULOUS!!! What a great place for Lowell! We ended up staying for 5 hours. I had the Crazy Noodles and it was superb! I tried a pupu platter with all kinds of delious things on it! I have never wrote a review before, but I was checking Yelp for new restaurants to try and thought I would check to see what others had to say about Blue Taleh. I could not agree more with "Gary W. dissapointed" review. I had a very similar experience. I had to write a review. The host is extremely rude. And to just let everyone know that the OWNERS are the hosts! This is how the owners treat their customers. My husband and I will also never go back. If I could give a lower mark I would. This place has a lot of problems. Starting with the food. Low quality and not authentic. The wait staff is slow, but the most disturbing flaw of all is the host (which is also the owner!) He is extremely rude. He does not care if you have a reservation he will try to seat you in the bar, with a half empty dinning room, the entire night? I could go on, but won't waste anymore time. There are so many finer local restaurants. I would not spend a cent here and we tell everyone who likes to dine out to avoid this place! read more

Amazing food, awesome drinks! It gets very busy, so make a reservation if its Friday or Saturday night. A little pricey, but you pay for what you get. I've never been dissappointed here, they also have entertainment (piano, jazz) on certain nights. read more

I have been to many Thai restaurants around Boston and I do believe that Blue Taleh is one of the best and always serves excellent food. I have not ordered a dish i haven't enjoyed. The Pad Thai is the best I have ever had. On rich side, it is always cooked to perfection and never dry or lacking flavor. The Salmon Choo Chee is another excellent dish. A bit on the pricey side but big portion certainly enough to split. At times the services is a bit slow but overall friendly waitstaff. When the live music is playing it can be a bit loud just sit toward the back of the restaurant. The outdoor seating in the warmer weather is quite nice. I would recommend this restaurant if in the lowell area. read more

Drinks and food are always great but a little on the expensive side (especially drinks) - service is average. They have a volcano roll here that is seriously the best I've ever had - try it, you'll love it. For some reason it always seems really loud inside the restaurant, so if you have anyone in your group who is hard of hearing, that might be a problem. Outdoor seating is in a beautiful little spot on the canal but the chairs could be more comfortable. Definitely try this place out (and order the volcano roll - you'll die, it's so good) read more

spicy sashimi bowl is great (i hold the cucumbers) im a big sushi fan and i keep going back to this place. tad pricey as is all sushi i guess. saw a pineapple moscow mule on the drink menu im dying to try. parking is abysmal to non existant. outdoor patio looks cool. sometimes live music inside. read more

I almost never write reviews, but I had to for this experience. Overall the food and atmosphere was good, but the service is some of the worst we had experienced. I'm far from being critical. My friends and I are in the service industry so we are more than understandable. It was valentines night and wasn't that busy actually. Our waitress took a fairly long time to greet us. As soon as she took our order that was basically the last time we saw her. Our appetizers came out spaced. Never checked up on us. There were four of us. My entree came up first after. Thinking there was confusion on my entree for an appetizer I let it go. But when the next entree comes up, again separate we mentioned we'd like all our entrees together. She didn't really seem to care, but apologized. The final entree came out, but at that point we were all upset over the fact we couldn't enjoy our meals together. Each entree came out about 6-7 minutes minutes apart from each other's. She never ended checking up out how everything was even after knowing all our food came out separate. If it was busy and she was busy it's understandable, but she was not even to be found anywhere. She ended up coming back to grab our empty plates and asked for dessert, but we were so appalled by the service we just asked for the check. She dropped the check without thanking us or anything. Again I never write reviews, but this again was the worst service I've ever received and I'm very laid back and understandable. Good food but not coming back. read more

My husband and had dinner last night and dined outside along side the Eastern Canal under a full moon....very romantic. We absolutely love Sushi and being new to Lowell, we had heard good things about the Blue Taleh Restaurant. We loved it! The fish quality was fresh and definitely sushi grade. The selections of rolls offered many very creative and delicious options. Just a couple of blocks from our apartment....we will definitely be back! Only one "wish" though......the menu does state...no substitutions.....and the manager was very firm on that. We had wanted to order a sushi & sashimi boat that a squid salad came with. We do not eat squid and our only choice was to either accept the salad or forego it but still pay the same price for the boat. Not sure why the rigid approach but luckily our second menu choice made up for the negative beginning! Would highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Never once in my life have I been compelled to write a Yelp review but after reading the reviews for Blue Taleh I felt I had to do this as a public service. The only reason this place is not rated higher overall is due to the people who clearly have never eaten at a decent sushi bar or have no idea what kind of a place they are walking into. Is it expensive? Compared to hot dogs and Lays potato chips - yes. For top quality sushi - it's average price if not a good deal depending on what you get. Service at the bar was great. The girls weren't exactly seasoned veterans but what they lacked in experience they more than made up for in personality and seeming to genuinely care that people were enjoying themselves. The Thai options on the menu look great but I can never get there because the sushi is amazing. If you know what a shiso leaf is, love uni and get a quail egg cracked on top of your tobiko - check this place out and you will not be disappointed. And guys, if you're looking for a place to take a girl on a date - sushi, martinis, live piano player - they do all the work for you - just show up and pay the tab and you'll more than likely be rewarded ;) read more

Visited the Blue Taleh with another couple on a Friday night. It was a good 25 minutes before a waiter came to take our drink order and it was another 25 for her to come back for our entree order. It took about 45 minutes for the food to arrive, which would have been ok, but there was a mistake with one of the entrees. They brought 2 ducks instead of the salmon that I had ordered. I would have settled for the meal that was prepared but I don't eat duck. By the time my meal finally arrived the party I was with had finished their meals. They tried to hold off but after 20 minutes I insisted they eat. No one from the restaurant ever came by to apologize or try to make the situation better. When my meal finally arrived after nearly 40 minutes I asked if it would be comped. I was assured that it would be but sure enough it was on the bill. When we discussed this with the waitress she said that she misunderstood what I meant and that the meal would not be free. We waited another 20 minutes for the manager who finally reluctantly agreed to comp the meal. I was shocked at the lack of customer service. It was absolutely ridiculous. I will never patronize the Blue Taleh again because of the total disregard they have for their customers. read more

Be careful with this restaurant if you are planning an evening out with friends. Your reservations could get casually bumped if it suits the restaurant's needs. I made reservations on Thursday for Saturday night at 6 PM for five people, post a matinee theatre performance. When the five of us arrived at the restaurant, we were told we had no reservations - the manager said they had called us back to say that they were unable to accomodate us after all, cancelling our reservations. We never got the message and when I got home, the call had apparently been made that Saturday afternoon, close to our early matinee. I believe we were bumped to accomodate someone else. We have been to the restaurant a number of times after these performances at the Merimack Theatre, are nice well-behaved people and tip well. I think we would be the kind of repeat customers a restaurant would want to keep for the base business. Almost worse for us, it was clear the staff couldn't have cared less about upsetting our evening plans, and didn't really value us as regular customers. They just refused us with no accomodation. So, food and atmosphere are okay, but not outstanding enough to balance this very poor customer service. I think the management think they are better than they are - and have a kind of arrogant attitude. Have gone there a number of times previously with other theatre-goers but, at least in our group, none of us would ever return and would not recommend the restaurant. As someone else commented, there are any number of excellent restuarants in Lowell - no need to put up with an establishment that doesn't value its customers read more

My wife and I went out for her birthday on Friday night, we made reservations but when we arrived the host directed us into the bar. We explained that we had a reservation and did not wish to sit in the bar area. He rudely said we could sit in the dinning room if we wanted to wait 30 - 40 minutes. when we came in we noticed that the dinning room was not full? When we suggested that we wait at a bar table and not order food or leave, suddenly they had an open table? this person ruined my wife's birthday, we should have left. The dinning room was not full the entire time we were there. The thai food we had was average compared to other restaurants and the drinks are a complete ripoff. We ordered a bloody mary and were told that we could not request a particular vodka since the drink was already premixed? The drink was horrible, the flavor was of a marinated juice in vodka, you could not detect the individual flavors. Plus the drink came in a small glass full of ice for $9.00 Needless to say we will never go back. read more
