Here's the reworded version for you: Not only did I have to drive my own vehicle to multiple locations each night, sometimes visiting three different apartments in Chandler, Mesa, and Gilbert, but I wasn't being compensated for insurance or gas. I was making $18 an hour before taxes, which came out to around $15 to $16 an hour. Additionally, I wasn't provided with any equipment. While driving around late at night--sometimes as late as 12 or 1 AM--I was at risk of being pulled over by law enforcement. I had to travel to various apartment complexes because the company couldn't maintain a consistent schedule. At each location, I would only be able to get a couple of hours of work, and even then, the scheduling was disorganized. I had to speak to the scheduler multiple times to stop scheduling me 30 miles away from each site. One of the locations was practically halfway to Tucson, which made no sense. There weren't many apartment complexes with a place to sit inside, so you were left walking around outside with nowhere to set your stuff down. On top of that, they expected you to go out in the middle of the night with no map or directions and leave things on people's doors, as if you knew where the apartments were after only spending an hour there every few nights. That's a task that should be handled by managers from the apartment complex, not security guards. read more

These folks are the WORST security. Tenants laugh as they walk up, wave them off, and you end up calling the police. They have a website way to report yet I think that's a joke. This company is a joke! They specialize in apartment security who only hire Blue Steel so that they can say they have a "courtesy officer." If you are a licensed security guard, don't work here ! They will send you to places that no guard should have to work unarmed, and you will have to drive from post to post at your own expense for gas and maintenance. Not sure why they're getting torn apart, every time I've needed them they've shown initiative. Kicked people out past curfew, did their hourly check ins. Do not work here. Do not hire from this company. The owners of this company have no values and ethics. Poor customer service. This company misleads employees. The company will put employees at different locations during 1 shift. Employees may drive 40+ miles just to work for 1 hour at a separate location. No mileage reimbursement. As an employee, make sure you have your hourly wage contract in writing with you, because the owner will try to pay you minimum wage, despite your contract. Very very dishonest company. read more

You might as well have zero security. They do absolutely nothing. We called them about a noise complaint. The issue never stopped so we called them back and they said they did come out here, asked the person to stop, the person said no so they just gave up and left. They said they can't help us and to call the police. What is the point of security if they are doing nothing. The last few years things have steadily been declining in our apartment complex at night. The security guard either sits in their car all night in one spot in the complex or if they do walk around it's on the calmest night ever. When criminals come into the complex and rob people, break into apartments, vandalize, steal vehicles, break into mailboxes, etc...Blue Steel is nowhere to be found. I'm really beginning to have my suspicions about the security guards. Why are they never around when actual crime is occurring but are shuffling by on nights when it's calm. It makes me think they are in on it with the criminals.You are not safe if your apartment complex utilizes this company. You are one your own. They are useless. read more

I worked for BlueSteel security and was very unhappy with the way they treat their employees. First to start off they didn't pay me for orientation which was three hours I also was late sending my timesheet in by a half an hour, so they charged me 25 dollars, they also like to charge their employes $150 dollars if you don't give a two week notice and on top of that if I called in during the two week notice they would also charge me 150.00 dollars and not pay me my sick time that I have earned!!!!! I was sent to a site with very little instructions and no supervision I still have not seen a supervisor in 3 months. This is a terrible company to work for. read more

Don't work for this company. I recently resigned to take care of my mom who is in the hospital battling Lupas. They told me they were dropping my hours worked down to minimum wage from my pay rate of 15.00 an hour and are refusing to pay me for my field training. They put on this big show about caring for Veteran's and wanting to help Veteran's out. Then they stab you in the back. They are nothing shy of shady. The property that I live at just changed security to Blue Steel. Tonight I watched the same car pull in to a resident assigned spot twice and just sit there with their lights on. No officer got out to patrol. The parking job was off-center and cock-eyed like they were drunk. The second time, the car was taking up two spots. Parking on this property is at a premium. This car was sitting there for nearly 2 hours with its lights on and no signs of life when another car pulls in. She honked her horn to get him to at least move over a little to allow her enough space to park. He pulled out of the spot and left. I talked to the woman who was parking and she said the driver of the car was wearing a security uniform. I then called the extension for security for this property and was connected with Blue Steel Security. After confirming that they had an officer on-site that was in an unmarked car, the dispatcher hung up on me when I questioned why they would have an officer on-site, sleeping in his car with his lights on. The dispatcher's name was Cissy. If this is the kind of security that my $2200 a month buys, I would rather the property drop my rent and let me take my own chances. read more

Unfortunately this has been the worst company we have ever encountered. I recently tested positive for COVID-19 and my fiancé worked for this company when we first found out. They gave him 24 hrs to get some kind of doctors note, he had a appointment to get tested a few days later after we found out I was positive, unfortunately we weren't able to get a closer appointment and the company terminated his employment. When he tried to get his check they kept saying he willingly quit which he did not quit. On his way to get a doctors note he got a text saying he was self terminated. Now we're both at home quarantined with no income.Would not recommend working for this company at all. They only care for themselves. After all the over time he did for them. Always willing to work extra hours they just have him the boot. He was the only person that would not sleep on the job during graveyard shifts. This company doesn't do their job. They're hired to actually protect the people that are under their contract and the people that are residents under the contract. Needless to say, if the building is being flooded with drug dealers that are being asked politely to leave by residents, the company Blue steel claims they had someone on patrol but they're never there or they're loaded and high on their vehicles passed out on the same street drugs they're supposed to stop from coming to the complexes they're hired for. I've watched someone assault one of the people at my complex and I went to find the guard that was placed at my current complex, and they were HIGH AS HELL on drugs passed out drooling on theirselves in their car. They could've died from asphyxiation cause of how their head was placed and how poorly they were breathing. I called the patrol office over it and they did nothing but send some stuffed shirt cranky bald guy to the complex in a pretty car that says "blue steel" and nothing happened. Not to mention I have to keep calling the police because people in my complex are ASSAULTED or gravely injured due to their lack of concern and doing their jobs. So that Phoenix PD and Fire are so busy cleaning up the damn mess it is disgusting. read more

The problem with this company is as follows.... I live in Scottsdale Kierland area across from Westin my complex sub contracts them for security which sounds great. Problem is it just sounds great.. I literally witnessed two neighbors having to show weapons to a neighbor in my building who was phyically threatening another neighbor. The same guy stole my house keys and admitted so has had police called by another neighbor over 3 times. And all the while both complex and security company are nowhere to be found passing on the buck. The rent i pay and fees involved IS WORTHY ENOUGH TO rent to own. i could live in the hood for this insanity. neglect of ensuring both mine and others safety is UNACCEPTABLE Im scared to have to see the repercussions of what could happen due to inaction of this companys job duties...
