Depending on the day, you might get a good sized rack of juicy ribs or you might get a small, dried up chewy rack of ribs. Beef brisket is a total failure these days. Tough, poor quality meat, barely any smoke, and feels like tough roast beef instead of slow smoked brisket. Mac n cheese is yet another failure. Barely any better than KD. Forget the cornbread too. Forget the ambiance as there is none. Forget the service, there is also none at all. What was once, if only occasionally, brilliant is now consistently awful.

Parking is plentiful in the dealership parking lot. Staff were friendly and helpful, as I had no idea what to order. Food is definitely on the pricy side, but what isn't expensive these days. I ordered the 1/2 pound brisket. The meat was surprisingly juicy and tender (most places dry out the meat). Served with some pickled peppers and onions. I actually weighed the meat when I got home and the serving size was indeed just over 1/2 lbs, which is nice, as many other places skimp out. Special mention. Decent choice for BBQ if one is in the area.

I must say it was nice and juicy. With that said, wow it's pricy. The "Vancouver's Best Cornbread" is a pretty tall claim, but this place delivers. The cornbread is suprisingly moist and sweet. Of course, try not to think about the ingredients. Definitely worth trying. Pretty solid food if one has deep enough pockets. Recommended.

Maybe it's better in the prairies but here I've find it hard to find either beef or pork cooked right with most it either being dry, unseasoned or undersmoked. The big plus for Rosie's is they actually seem to know how to cook brisket using fatty cuts and smoking it long enough to breakdown the connective tissue without it getting mushy. It could have been smoked even longer but it was probably the best I've had in BC. They don't have burnt ends and at least the server I dealt with didn't seem to know what they are. They at least know you never serve Texas BBQ with sauce on it. It's expensive for BBQ which seems to be standard in Canada with 18 dollars for just 1/2 a pound but it's good enough I'll pay it. They didn't ask if I wanted lean or fatty which is traditional in BBQ joints. I found the pulled pork to not be as good. It didn't have the flavour or moistness that I expect especially compared to the South Carolina pulled pork that I prefer and eat when visiting family there. Also it looks more chopped than pulled. If that is Vancouver's best cornbread I'm guessing the bar for cornbread is pretty low too. It's too sweet. Cornbread is a savory dish. The moistness was good. This would be bog standard Q in Austin or Charleston but for Vancouver it's very very good.

When my big group all had finally found a table that was open, we started looking at the menus on our phone and it wasn't until about 15 minutes of being there that we were told they had a limited menu. The burgers all came out at different times and my burger in particular came out about 20+ minutes after the rest of my group. I was grateful for the GF bun, but my burger came out lukewarm and the bun wasn't toasted, which always makes a big difference for GF bread. All this said, they just seemed really short staffed for a Friday night and I felt bad for the few servers they had. The servers were incredibly kind and gave us all free lemon daddy shots to make up for the long wait time for my burger.

They offer juicy smash beef patties, a veggie/vegan option with sweet potato, gluten free buns, burgers for kids and even a treat for dogs. I've tried almost everything on the menu at this point, and their current Feature Burger called the Aussie Kapow is my favourite (why have I never heard of pickled beets on a burger before?!). Second place would be the Crunch, their crispy chicken burger which is perfectly cooked every time I get it. Great spot to bring the whole fam, as the brewery has lots of non-alcoholic and non-beer options, as well as board and card games, and a cute patio for pups.

* The Definition of Torpedo *…read more Urban Dictionary has multiple definitions or "Torpedo": - To betray, backstab, diss, or punk someone with the intent of causing harm to their reputation. - When objects or people look beautiful from far away, but dangerous or ugly up close. - A long turd. The menu sounded promising (although overpriced for a food truck) with some nice classic sandwiches on offer. I ordered the "mumia" ($12) - which I have to assume is a play on Mumia Abu-Jamal who is from Philadelphia, home of the cheesesteak? Anyhoo... The description was very cheesesteak like with sirloin beef, pepperjack cheese, sauteed onions and peppers. The addition of garlic aioli moved away from the classic as did the usage of pepperjack instead of provolone. When I unwrapped the sandwich, I was torpedoed with an excessive amount of a watery oily substance dripping all over the place. It got all over everything - not in a good way. Biting into the sandwich was the next torpedoing. The bread was stale. I don't mean day old. I mean stale. Next torpedo: the beef was chewy, gristly, and very oily. The peppers were the best part - but they too were overly oily. Basically each bite gave you a mouthful of stale bread, a piece of oily gristle flavoured by an oily pepper and a drippy oily substance (perhaps a broken aioli?). I couldn't eat the bread. Tried picking off the meat and veggies to eat, but gave up as they were too awful on their own. There was a small line when I approached the truck initially but their service was quick giving customers their sandwich within about 2-4 minutes of order, not entirely sure what the standard is for food trucks but for me that's good. The lady up front taking the orders was very friendly and was happy to help answer our questions. They only offered a few options but what I had to try was the jerk chicken sandwich as I had stopped a girl just minutes before and attempted to waft hers. Again service was fairly quick and I receive my sandwich within a few minutes. I don't think the picture I've posted will do it any justice but this baby was a beauty. The bun tasted quite fresh and almost melted in my mouth, the chicken and enough spice and flavour and the rest was just bomb. It is quite filling I found which is what you're looking for, good bang for buck. Definitely gonna track these down every time I'm downtown. Amazing experience for my taste buds.
