Late January they hook up several gigantic cables to the box even though order was cancelled. We recently moved up to Andrews NC and needed Internet Service. I tried three different companies:…read moreFrontier, The Cable Company, and SkyTek. Frontier was one of the most frustrating efforts in my 64 years. I tried to get service, never received service, and paid for the work and now they have billed me for a month's service. I've called eight times and now understand why they have a class action suit pending. Because of my location, I wasn't sure The Cable Company provided service. I called them, they were very nice and said that they thought that it could work for me. They checked it out and I never heard back from them. Doesn't inspire confidence. Finally, SkyTek. They said that they thought that they could provide service. Came out and verified it could happen (within 3 days). They let me know it was doable and asked when I'd like it hooked up. Two days later it was done with no muss and no fuss. The two guys came out, knew what they were doing and got it done. They asked where I wanted it installed and then did it. They double checked things and found an installation error (one was a new employee) and fixed it. Before leaving. It's good quality, reasonably fast and only occasionally glitches when streaming. When I've contacted them, I've gotten an excellent response. I can't say enough about them. If you're reasonable, they seem to be as well.

Recently the service has been very unreliable! When we come up to our cabin in Blairsville, I work remotely for our business and with updated technology increasing, Windstream has not been able to handle it. I was so frustrated with Windstream, I searched for an alternate Internet Service in Blairsville, GA and found SkyTek Communications. I called and they sent out Justin to see if we were in range of their tower and reviewed their internet plans with us. We immediately scheduled an install of their Antenna and router. WOW, what a difference!!! SkyTek Internet service is so much better than Windstream and they have great customer service. We are one "HAPPY CUSTOMER"

The folks that work at Skywatch are wonderful. They are helpful and show up when they say they…read morewill. The satellite service providers they represent are terrible. I have Direct TV for television at my home. It is over priced. I would not mind paying the price if it were more reliable. If there is the least amount of rain or if it is even cloudy; this service will not work. I have internet at home by ViaSat (formerly Exceed). WORST Internet service providee EVER. I have their latest Generation 5 service. It is slower than dial-up!! Sent an email last evening. This morning it is still sitting in my outbox waiting to go out. I work remote. I had to lease office space where I can get hardwired Internet to be able to work. VIaSat will not work if you have to VPN in to your office. ViSat is a last resort for Internet service. I'm honestly on the fence as to whether it is even worth having. I am considering paying their $400 early termination fee and be done with them. Their service is also grossly expensive for the terrible service received. Just like the television even on a cloudy day the service will not work. And I also want to add that a tree fell and wiped out my ViaSat equipment. I was charged $475 to replace it. Again, wouldn't have a problem paying that if this internet service was reliable.

First off, I am not Adam. I scanned the business card he gave me and attached it to the review…read more Have you ever had the experience of trying to deal with a home network problem by going through your ISP, and, the vendor of whatever other networking equipment you are using? Each of them says that things look good on their end, and you need to contact the "other guy". How about trying to do that on the phone? You live in an area with poor cell signal, and the only way you can have a conversation is to utilize "wifi calling", except - you DON'T HAVE WIFI, so the call is breaking up and you can barely understand each other. The chance of getting a technician from your ISP to pay you a visit is about as likely as winning the lottery. I did a search on Yelp and Adam was the first - got another response from one other vendor who said they couldn't help me - to respond. He said he could come the next day, and it turns out he is located only 15 minutes from my house. I had done some remediation before his arrival and found out that my problem was not due to equipment, but a configuration decision that I had made that gradually disrupted my network (No, the customer is NOT always right). Adam explained everything that had happened, tweaked some settings, and made some suggestions about how I could optimize my setup. He is very knowledgeable about many networking, communication, and security issues. This will lead me to work with him in the future to improve the quality of our cell signal and do some rewiring to improve the performance of our home network. He also has expertise in other areas - it turns out he used to work for the company that services the entry gates into our community and is also extremely well-versed in network security issues. His hourly rate is entirely reasonable, IMHO. Finally, he is a REALLY nice guy. I can't recommend him highly enough.
