We stayed here and also got dinner one of the nights. The food was fabulous. Loved the mussels.

Fabulous restaurant with talented Chef.(Chef with a Capital C).We have dined in NY City,Paris,Rome, San Francisco and this Chef is as good as any. Almost everyone arrives early so they can sit on the wrap around porch and look out at the Atlantic with a glass of wine. We shared appetizers of Crab fritters with lime tarragon aioli, and Scallops on a thick slab of oven roasted bacon. We both had the oven roasted fish, excellent. For desert we had wine and sherry. We ate here last year also and at the time we stayed at Grey Havens. This time we visited and we are definitely returning later this summer. We dined on a Sunday night in May and the restaurant was full.

What can I say but wow! Lovely room with an incomparable view topped by delicious food. Every bite from the chowder, beet salad, and lamb to the blueberry crisp was a delight...and it doesn't hurt that they have a top notch bar! The Grey Havens Inn is a treasure. We enjoyed every moment.

We stayed at Grey Havens and also had an amazing dinner. It was pretty expensive but definitely worth it. Wines are very good and affordable though. Chef and owners are very welcoming and food is simply amazing. My wife had broiled haddock- super fresh. My salmon was a culinary masterpiece. I would recommend this place to everyone. And the view - amazing!

TLDR: Linden + Front does neighborhood new American better than anyone else in the midcoast…read more L + F is easily the best restaurant in city and they consistently knock it out of the park on all fronts. The staff are some of the kindest, most accommodating people in the business--the bartenders in particular are always willing to work with you to find exactly the cocktail you're in the mood for. The food is fresh and local. In particular the partnership with Bath's local butcher shines through in their meats, but there are plenty of options for vegetarians as well. They're also one of the only restaurants around where I feel confident I can bring my partner who has celiac. He's eaten here multiple times and the staff have always been understanding and able to accommodate him. The atmosphere strikes a lovely balance that feels sophisticated enough for an event or special occasion, but just as welcoming if you want to sit at the bar after work and have a French onion burger and drink.

One only comes for the view which is--honestly--not work a $50 entree. Lights were very bright and chairs dig into your spine. This was by far the worst service I have ever had. The food took 51 minutes only to be served undercooked carrots and overcooked pheasant truly tasting like fried chicken. Lamb was good, but some chops cooked past medium, some still raw (ordered MR). Bread was stale. Furthermore, I waited over 20 minutes just for a refill on water because our server was nowhere to be found. The manager never spoke to us or apologized. Any restaurant I worked at would have offered a free dessert and/or comped apps. For a place to be promoting such 'prestige' likeness, the restaurant is absolutely awful.

This could be even better - maybe even a spectacular experience - if they had a floor manager or Maitre'D with experience running the show. 88 has a pretty interior, both relaxing and quiet. It has a definite upscale casual elegance. My first big impression: they desperately need a sommelier or at least a head server versed in wine. We ordered a bottle of champagne and they brought it out, opened it, and served us warm champagne; if the bottle was warm, why even open it? Now I'm losing the bubbles for the 30 plus minutes it took to get cold in ice (and at first it was too much water and not enough ice, so it didn't chill until we asked them to replace the water with actual ice). It wasn't even cold until after we were done with our oysters, amuse, and salad. Other times, once it was cold, the waitress would come over, but not pour us more champagne - despite our glasses obviously low or empty. I understand people are starving in the world, but that doesn't change the fact that in a decent place they should train the staff on wine handling and etiquette. The big issue there is that the servers are very young; need at least a couple of "grown ups" in the place. (A "grown up" is someone over 35). As for the food, it was well made and tasty. Scallops appetizer had three large scallops, which were perfectly cooked, but a tad under-flavored; the pink peppercorn sauce was delicious, but it almost needed more. Raw oysters (5) from Glidden Point (down the road) were clean and cold and local. 88 gets big points for the thoughtful, nice touches - a free glass of champagne to start; an amuse bouche (it was a chilled melon-cucumber spoon tonight); warm cheddar biscuits; and a parting gift. For main courses, we had the chicken breast stuffed with arugula cranberry stuffing and a side of risotto - it was high quality chicken and it super flavorful, served sliced. The "stuffing" was obviously fresh and made with high quality ingredients. We also enjoyed The sliced, rare tuna, which I believe was maple glazed - served over a bed of wild rice. The chef perfectly seared it, and this was clearly high quality tuna. Very tasty, and a generous portion. Overall, we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and lovely view; with additional management and training, this could really be a top notch dining destination in the Mid-Coast.

I had the fish and chips. The chips were a huge plate of overly seasoned garlic fries. The red ale beer battered fish was delicious. My wife had the only lobster dish on the menu. It resembled fettuccine Alfredo but was called Lobster Tagliatelle. We split the four large shrimp appetizer and they were very good. Happy hour is only for well spirits and IPA beers. I had the well rum with diet, very good for six bucks each during the two hour happy hour from 3 to 5. Top shelf spirits were 12.50 for a double. The thirty dollar fish and chips was priced too high. The $38 dollar lobster dish was not worth it either. Blueberry cobbler with ice cream at twelve dollars was very good as was the creme brulee at $15.00 but both should have been priced at the most, ten dollars. So my opinion is the restaurant is overpriced but lovely inside and out. The workers are attentive and cordial. The scenery is very nice and the breakfast is one of the best we've had when traveling and staying at a place. It is included in the $200.00 a night room. We also got a fifty dollar certificate for dinner when booking which offset the high prices. The place allows dogs and when we entered our room it smelled of a strong disinfectant but thankfully that smell diminished. Water in the sink during the afternoon when we arrived was Luke warm. The next morning we had hot water. The room is carpeted and out of date. They should remove the carpet and use the same flooring as in the bathroom and foyer. Love the porch and chairs. Nice that they have a smoking area close to the office building but the other one is too far. The roads to get here are difficult to navigate and I would not drive here in the dark for safety reasons. No elevator anywhere and the grounds are difficult to navigate walking as are the stairs. The anchor building we stayed in had a nice view from the second floor but someone with bad knees and the like may want to insist on a ground floor room. Overall I can recommend but doubt we'd ever return to this Inn or restaurant in the future. The sewage is septic tank and we did not smell it like other reviews say. So for us it's a one and done time visit but it was worth a try!

It was also good, but you had to eat it quickly because it got cold fast. We ordered broccoli as our vegetable side, but the chef gave us stir fried squash and zucchini. Dawn was embarrassed and went back for the broccoli. However I ate all of the mixed vegetables because they were actually quite good. For our last seafood dinner in Maine, we are glad we chose this place. Not fancy but very friendly and warm.
