Cynthia, I think it is funny that you edit your original post 10 days later and now are making even more completely ridiculous and false statements. It further demonstrates that Blue Oval Moving Services is an unprofessional business and that buyers should beware! No one ever told your movers to drink from a hose; there was tap water and water from the refrigerator dispenser available. The three Blue Oval representatives that (almost) moved us were grown men; I did not realize that they needed their hands held, asked if they needed water or that I was required to bake cookies for them. $2,300 was no bargain, especially considering the services were never complete! The same services should have been $1,600 to $1,800 (check www.uhaul.com) but your family business seemed nice and (Joey) promised a smooth move so I decided to go with you. What a mistake that turned out to be. A tip? Really? Blue Oval was paid $145/hr for a 3 person crew which was really like a 2 person crew. $145/hr is a four person crew rate. Separately, a 2 person crew at 15 hours is not the same as a 4 person crew at 7.5 hours. The two guys doing all the work, John and Dylan, were worn out. I do feel sorry for John and Dylan because you and Joey decided not to provide adequate resources for the move. That decision to work your son and his friend like dogs is on you and Joey. That is inhumane treatment. Don't worry, I have filed my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and if that doesn't go anywhere, the next step will be small claims court. If Blue Oval would have upheld its contract and commitment, these additional steps would be unnecessary. read more

This company of family movers are very professional and more importantly courteous. I have moved homes and business locations with many moving companies in Southern California in the past 25 years. This is the first time I felt like the movers were family and cared more about me and my situation than just getting paid. I had a crazy move because I was forced to move in with my daughter after being in a coma for 5 days in May 2018. I had one bedroom full of my clothes, bed, dresser, nightstands, desk, etc upstairs and was unable to climb the stairs to pack it ahead of their arrival. I had also stored items in the garage that were buried on shelves under my daughters own boxes. The rest of my items were 50 miles away at a storage facility. These guys showed up at my daughters house and packed everything in my room upstairs for me since I was unable to do it. They didn't charge extra they just wanted to help me out like family. They then spent over 3 hours pulling down every box in the garage to open it and show me to determine if it was mine or my daughters stuff inside. There were over 30 boxes and they were patient and courteous the whole time. We then left and drive 50 miles to my storage facility in Friday horrible traffic from Perris to Rancho Cucamonga arriving at 3:45pm and they proceeded to load each and every item after asking me if it was going or staying behind in storage. We didn't finish until 7:30pm loading up at storage and these guys packed that truck from floor to ceiling so perfectly that not one item shifted or broke during the 60 mile drive to Canoga Park. They didn't complain once about how late it was already and how much work was still ahead of them. We arrived at about 10:30pm and they previewed the mobile home to see where and how they would maneuver all of my large furniture items up the stairs and into the mobile home. These guys worked their tails off and still not one negative word came from anyone's mouth even though I was starting to get tired and hurting from my bad leg and was probably being a little short with them. They had to remove my front door to move out a huge side by side refrigerator and them my stainless steel side by side back into the house. They made it fit through the opening without causing any damage and not even removing the doors. I thought for sure they were going to start getting sick of me and my requests of where to put things and then changing my mind but they didn't. These guys worked until 4:30am and at the very end they drive up the street and took that other side by side refrigerator to my friends house and had to remove her front door and moved the fridge in for her at no charge. I not only recommend them to anyone looking to move but will be using them again this Saturday to go to my storage and bring more stuff that I have room for in my new home. This family owned moving company is the right choice for anyone and they also provide a flat rate so there are no double drive time charges or extra surprises. They put everything in writing and show up as promised. Make sure you provide your movers with water and drinks. They are there for you from start to finish and can't just run to the local gas station to get drinks. They will treat you like family so treat them the same. I just moved out using their service this weekend and it was the smoothest move ever. It was my first time hiring movers and it was definitely worth it these guys are professionals! I had trouble getting my fridge out of the house and they improvised removing the handles and taking it out through the sliding door. We hired them to move us to Lake Havasu from Hemet, Then all of the realtors messed everything up we changed plans with no notice and Blue Oval came through and did a good job even had to get another truck but did not charge us anything extra then we couldn't get into our house so we had to put it in storage at Lake Havasu They did a wonderful job on short notice and getting a bunch of crap from the pushy realtor from the people moving into the house we sold Found out later we had three days to get out but Blue Oval had us and in one day I would recommend them and hire them again read more

I contacted them for a quote to move from Menifee to San Diego and also for a quote to move to Texas. Joey came to our house in Menifee and agreed to move us from Menifee into our storage unit and out to the home we secured in San Diego on the 28th of August for $3,000 ( agreed to the price to beat another company). We were told this would cover them packing, the packing materials, truck, and 4 movers. This was supposed to be a 3-4 day process. I sent a text to Joey and advised him after reading some of the reviews again that we didn't feel comfortable with paying him upfront and that we would agree to give him a $1000 deposit, $1,000 at unloading at storage and the final $1,000 at delivery to our home being that we couldn't move in until the 27-28th of August. Joey said it wasn't usually their policy but that he would do it. I advised him that we would use their services and that he could bring the contract and get the cashier's check when I returned on Saturday. Joey came by that Saturday afternoon and I had him to write the agreement on the contract and gave him the deposit. The first day (Monday) only Joey and another guy came and he didn't bring many boxes. I told Joey I didn't think it was going to be enough and that I thought it was supposed to be 4 people. Joey said one of the guys had to take his daughter to school so we were fine with that since they were knocking things out. They ran out of boxes so they left for the day. Wednesday Joey brought 6-8 boxes with him and the one guy returned plus the guy that wasn't able to make it the 1st day. They were supposed to be there at 8 but didn't arrive until 8:45a.m. They were there a few hours and left. Friday was loading day and the day we were scheduled to move things into storage. Joey showed up with one 26ft truck when I had been telling him since the day we signed the contract, there is no way at 5bdrm 3600sq ft house will fit on one truck. Joey didn't show up with the crew until after 9am when they were supposed to be there again at 8am. The crew were trying to load things quickly and were trying to be strategic about loading things but Joey was moving so slow that they were standing around waiting on him to take the beds down. Since around noon Joey had been telling us "Oh we will be done in about another hour and will head down to the storage unit." Joey and his wife Cynthia decided via phone conversation decided that he didn't want to be in traffic so things weren't going to be delivered into storage on Friday the 16th. The loading wasn't complete and it was a lot left to load so frustrated I just said "Fine". Around 5:15pm Joey came to me and asked if I could go ahead and give him the 2nd payment of the $1,000 because he needed to get another 26 ft truck and pay the guys. Joey said "It takes a few days for a cashier's check to post so could you just give me the last 2 payments in cash?" I told him that I don't usually pay contract work in cash but either on my card or cashier's check but that I need this completed quickly because we were behind schedule and keys needed to be turned over to the people who brought our house by noon on the 18th. So we rushed to catch the bank before they closed. Saturday morning my husband went out to the house to meet them at 8am but they didn't show until after 8:30am. I called asking where they were because yet again we didn't receive a call saying they were running late or anything. Joey came with a small 20ft truck and said that's all they had. We said ok we just need it done because we are out of time. Saturday about 5pm we finally made it to storage but because the storage company reserves by size and not particular units until contract is signed we lost our first floor units and had to pay more for the 2nd floor. Joey sat there Saturday for about 45 mins saying how because the storage closes access at 7pm we weren't going to have time to unload. So the guys said well we can unload the smaller truck but it is going to take time since it's on the 2nd floor and the elevator can only hold so much. Completely fine because at least we have almost everything out of the house. I said to Joey we are wasting time and he said "Oh I need to take a break" and I just couldn't believe it because you just had over an hour break riding from Menifee to San Diego. The guys seemed pretty frustrated as well because they just wanted to start but Joey had the keys and were just waiting around saying how we didn't have time. So the guys made it half way through he small truck and Joey said he was concerned about the milage on both trucks so they were going to leave the 26ft truck at my hotel. We made it to my hotel and Joey wanted another $1,000 and I told him that wasn't the agreement. Joey then said they were going to take the 26ft truck because they needed to make sure nothing shifted. I received a voicemail from Cynthia saying the guys were stranded without gas because of me. I advised her she needed to look at contract read more

I moved from Hemet to SAN Diego and had my hesitation about moving and packing. Joey and his son were great at reassuring me that things were going well. The crew was great at packing the truck and they took great care of my belongings. We did have a small mishap with a metal floor lamp but all the other belongings made the trip in great shape. Joey and Cynthia talk a good talk. They come in professional with a briefcase that holds the paperwork to write up your contract. They first quoted me $3300 to move me. I declined stating I had another quote for $2500. They matched it with no hesitation. They wanted half down so I did that and scheduled the move date. My whole move fell through and I canceled my move and requested a refund in writing on 2/18. Cynthia replied back that she'd have my deposit refunded to me in 30 days. March 18th, no refund. Now Cynthia says the contract is 60 days so the refund will be in 60 days. April 18th rolls around and still no refund. Now she says they had to send back the supplies and they got lost, they had to file a claim and are waiting on the refund from the vendors....ummm not my problem! I threatened reporting the BBB and she could care less. I also said I demand the full deposit back since it was not returned on time per the contract. (the contract says they can hold 10% of the total move price from the deposit refund). Still nothing. Then I wait a few more days and send a demand for the full deposit plus interest by the next day or I'm going to Small Claims. She replies back that she got her refund and is waiting for it to clear her bank before sending me a Cashier's Check. I finally did receive my check one week shy of 90 days out. I also have 1900 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms, office, garage, formal dining/living rooms and family room. Plus a bunch of little tykes kids slides, play houses, etc. They said everything would fit in a 26' truck. There is absolutely no way!! I moved from a 1100 sq ft 2 bedroom with office and garage to this house and it took a 26' truck plus 2 extra pickup trucks. That was before double couch sets and little tykes kid stuff. My move was to be out of state and plan was to load up first thing, drive the 6 hours, then unload all in the same day. There is no way this would have happened with one 26' truck. I am glad my move fell out and didn't have to go through the nightmare of everything not fitting in the truck, but having to wait almost 90 days for a refund is absolutely ridiculous! What good is a contract if they don't honor the time frames?? read more

I recently moved from one house in Hemet to another. Blue oval was amazing. They were reasonably priced and really worked with me on every aspect of the move. They were super careful with my antiques and glass items. I would highly recommend them!! Need to add another five stars!!!! I hired them again to move my daughter last week. Another amazing job! This company is fabulous! I had to come out to move my mother in law (to Montana) last minute and they were more than accommodating. They came right away to survey the things being moved and gave us a great price to boot. I had estimates from other companies as well and they came in under the quoted prices(without knowing). They helped us pack some of her belongings and were more than happy to help with anything else we might need too(at no extra charge). Its a small business and they have great customer service! Ive never met such a nicer owner and employees. They came when they said they would and packed up the truck and even had blankets to protect the tvs too. They did a great job for us and I don't understand some of the negative reviews... I guess you cant please everyone. I'd recommend you to all my friends and family in a heart beat. Are you serious?? Hearing your defensive response Cynthia confirms my comments. You were not there to witness what happened that day. Your husband specifically told me on the phone that they stopped for hot dogs, not a drink. Your making an excuse that they deserved to stop for a drink cuz it was a hot July day is ridiculous. And why are you questioning that I submitted my review in October, when the move occured in July? What difference does that make?. Maybe reviewing your company was not my top priority but certainly now after hearing your defensive response will encourage others to NOT use your "services". I was simply submitting a YELP review to assist others when using your company. I did not say that your service was bad, but I did say that as the customer you need to ask in advance if your movers are planning on stopping for a break in route to the destination.
