I worked at The Lakes at Castle Hills in The Colony/Lewisville, TX. During my time there, I experienced verbal abuse from a leadership figure.... something I reported multiple times to management with no meaningful resolution. I have this behavior documented and on video. I was also subjected to sexual harassment from a club member, including inappropriate comments like: "Would you like to see the tattoo on my d**k?"and unwanted physical contact. When I told management I was uncomfortable and requested not to serve this member, I was told: "They're paying members, there's nothing we can do." Another manager later suggested I confront the harasser myself. I also have a diagnosed learning disability and was frequently mocked for things like misspellings, despite leadership being aware of my condition. Instead of support, I was met with humiliation. I filed a formal complaint with the EEOC. They acknowledged what I shared but ultimately dismissed the case due to the company's classification as a private, tax-exempt membership club, which is not subject to certain federal protections. This experience left me deeply shaken. I'm still growing from it. It shattered my confidence and made me question my worth, but I now know the weight I carried wasn't mine. I'm sharing it because silence only protects harmful systems.

The server did forget to bring the drinks, but the food was fresh and accurate. My family enjoyed themselves. Unfortunately, this location was the exact opposite experience. The place was extremely overcrowded, and the pace of play was terrible. Nearly every hole had a backup, and by the end of the round it felt like we were watching putt-putt rather than playing it. What really stands out is that this doesn't seem like a one-time issue. After reading other reviews, I found plenty of people describing the same problems: overcrowding, constant bottlenecks, and long waits between shots. When the same complaint keeps appearing, it's no longer an issue of bad luck, it's clearly a management problem. What's most frustrating is that I've seen Puttshack get this right. The Downtown Atlanta location was busy too, but groups kept moving and the course flowed smoothly. Here, it felt like management kept packing more people into the venue without any concern for the actual guest experience, I mean the whole course moved like rush-hour traffic. Another important note would be the attentiveness of the staff. Even on a Saturday, at 3pm mind you, the lower bar was empty when we walked in, and the staff of three at the upper bar seemed to have issues managing a line consisting of two. I nearly waited 5 minutes for even an acknowledgement, which is not the kind of experience you'd expect BEFORE the evening rush. The technology and courses themselves are great, but that's hard to appreciate when you're spending most of your time waiting for the group ahead of you. For the price, I expected a lot better. Until they address the overcrowding, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Life is too short to spend it waiting in line between putts.

A.W. Tillinghast designed the original course and the updates a few years ago made it even better. The cost of membership is out of my stratosphere, and I'm not a Highland Park / Preston Hollow person, so wouldn't qualify to be a member anyway.
