I bought IdealGolfer Coupons for GBGC for unlimited usage per month per Coupon. It stated that I can buy up to four for myself. It also gave me the option to buy more for as gifts for others. I bought four for myself to use. Then I found out that there would only be two and a half months to use the coupons before they expire. I contacted Idealgolfer, Laura, and asked how can we buy up to four coupons for ourselves yet all the coupons expire in 2 and a half months. Laura confided that this was an impossible situation and refunded me 2 of the 4 coupons that I had purchased.
I activated the first coupon at GBGC on 9/17 and was welcomed by the staff. They printed out a plastic card with my name on it and the date of expiration which was 10/17.
I soon realized that the staff's friendliness disappeared rapidly as they realize that I was there two to three times a week.
One time I requested for a second "large" basket of balls, and the staff would not even look at me. I thought to myself that thier attitudes sure have changed when I asked for additional balls.
I definitely felt this worsening attitude to the point that I never asked for a second basket of balls from there on.
Today, I tried to redeem my second coupon, but the staff informed me that they could not honor it because it has already expired. I was aware that the coupon said to redeem before 10/16 because the final days to end is on 11/16/2011. Knowing that their system for keeping track of the monthly usage was to have a plastic card printed with the expiration date on it, I did not think redeeming my last coupon on 10/18 would be a problem. I thought that they were just going to print me a card that expires on 11/16/2011, since my previous card did not expire till 10/17.
But I was wrong. The staff looked at the coupon for a while and told me that they can not activate this coupon because it had to be first used by 10/16/2011. I told him that my previous GBGC card did not expire till 10/17, so this is more of a continuation of the usage of the two coupons that I had bought from Idealgolfer. The person at GBGC was not interested in redeeming the coupon after my plea.
In my opinion, if they wanted to honor my coupon, they could have with ease. They do not use a computer program that programs in the 30 days of membership. We simply get a printed plastic card from GBGC on the date of expiration. When we go back, they merely look at the expiration date on the card and give me the code to a bucket of balls.
I did not interfere with any processes that would disallow them to honor the coupon. My only interpretation would be that they really don't like customers like me who buys these coupons and use the facility frequently. Please look at their faces when trying to get that second basket of balls and you will know what I mean!
My previous membership was good till 10/17. I would not view that as a gap in membership, but merely continuing on with my membership.
But I was NOT surprised when they told me that they could not redeem the membership. I have already sensed their unfriendliness before this. So I turned around and left instead of arguing with this person.
Why would I want to frequent a place over the next month when I know that they don't like me there?
You can keep the $25 (the cost of the unused coupon)!
I will never go there again! read more
