If you're looking for somewhere to escape the workweek and relax for a few hours, this is definitely a spot to check out. The minute we walked in, we were greeted at the front desk, and check-in was quick and easy since our appointments were already booked. We were taken down the hallway to sauna 7, where we spent the next hour in a private Jacuzzi. The room was nicely set up, the water temperature was perfectly warm, and everything was extremely clean and smelled fresh. I was a little nervous about the cleanliness beforehand, but this was so much better than being in some communal Jacuzzi or at someone's apartment. You're able to change into your bathing suit once you're inside the room. After about an hour, we were able to shower right there in the same private room before heading upstairs for our spa treatments. I started with a facial, which was amazing. It was my very first facial, and I felt like I was in great hands the entire time. I also did a hand treatment where they dipped my hands in warm wax, and afterward my hands felt as smooth as a baby's bottom! Lastly, I had a massage, and it was both relaxing and effective. I seriously felt like I could have fallen asleep right there in the masseuse's hands. Overall, I loved the entire experience. I've never been somewhere where I could relax in a private Jacuzzi for an hour, shower, get multiple spa treatments, and leave feeling completely refreshed and energized for the week ahead. I'll definitely be back. It was absolutely worth the trip over the bridge, and a big shout-out to everyone who works here for doing such an awesome job!

That's the review!!!…read more I typically visit every three months for an 80-minute hot stone massage and was previously seeing Gabe (unfortunately, he's no longer with Woodhouse). Gabe was fantastic--he always listened to my needs and paid extra attention to the areas that needed it most. This time, I was paired with Tony and OMG--he was amazing! You know a massage is good when you catch yourself snoring? That was me, LOL. Tony provided the perfect amount of pressure and, like Gabe, really listened to my concerns and focused on the areas I needed most. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend!

I visited Woodhouse Spa Walnut Creek on Sunday, July 19, with a friend. I had a facial, and my…read morefriend had a massage that I had purchased as a birthday gift using an online gift card that I purchased in October of last year. Both the facial and the massage were enjoyable, and we were happy with the services we received. Unfortunately, the experience at the front desk completely overshadowed our visit. When we checked out, my friend was told she owed the full amount for her massage. I explained that I had purchased the online gift card in October of last year. The front desk immediately asked for the confirmation email. I explained that the purchase had been made months earlier, I no longer had the email readily available, and that when I called before our appointment, I had been told we did not need to bring the confirmation because they would be able to look it up. Instead of trying to help, I was told that wasn't how they handled gift cards and that they had no way to look it up. Rather than feeling supported, the interaction became unnecessarily uncomfortable and felt more like I was being questioned than assisted. The staff came across as rude, disorganized, and unprofessional, showing very little interest in finding a solution. Ironically, after insisting they couldn't look up the gift card, they eventually searched under my name, even though the gift card was for my friend, and found it. Then, after processing everything, they initially told my friend she still owed $100. When I said I would pay it, they responded, "Oh, sorry, correction, you actually have a $100 credit." That level of confusion only reinforced how disorganized the checkout process was. When it came time to pay for my facial, I was then asked, "Would you like to just do the customary 20%?" Rather than presenting tipping options or allowing me to decide for myself, the question felt presumptive and added to the uncomfortable experience. To top it all off, immediately after everything we had just gone through, we were asked if we'd like to rebook another massage. After the experience we had at the front desk, it felt completely tone deaf. There was no genuine apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. The treatments themselves were good, but customer service is an important part of the overall spa experience. Unfortunately, the disorganized, dismissive, and unprofessional interactions at the front desk overshadowed what should have been a relaxing day. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the quality of customer service did not reflect the quality of the spa treatments.

I look forward to coming here, and the spa itself is well worth a visit, even without booking a…read moretreatment, in my opinion. I've been here about four times and find the spa to be a peaceful and relaxing getaway. My favorite parts of the spa are the dry saunas: both the jjimjilbang and the dry sauna in the women-only area. The jade and stone rooms have a nice scent of cedarwood, and when I have visited during the weekday, they're usually completely empty. I like to cool off in the rest area, where they provide mats and pillows, where I lie down and read for a bit before going back into one of the heated rooms. The women's spa has the typical amenities: dry sauna, wet sauna, cold pool and hot tub. Sometimes it can be a bit noisy (loud conversations) when there are women who don't know the proper etiquette, but once they get called back for their body scrub service, it gets quiet and peaceful again. :) When I come in the mid-morning on a weekday, at most there are a few other people, but other times I've had the entire space to myself (happened today). I especially enjoy the cold pool after using either of the saunas or the hot tub. If you purchase spa admission in bulk, it adds up to $35 a session ($350 for 10 "day passes"), which is well worth it, in my opinion. Day admissions includes the provision of a spa uniform (a robe for women), a small towel and a large towel, use of the lockers and access to all amenities (jjimjilbang, women-only saunas + pools). They provide spa shoes for free (upon request). The shampoo/conditioner/soap provided in the showers is decent! I like using the stool + basin to take a seated shower. Overall, the locker room and spa area are kept pretty clean. In the women's locker room they just got a new water cooler. I usually spend about three hours here. General advice: Come prepared to pay in cash unless you are willing to pay a credit card surcharge. Drawbacks: I think there could be improvements to some of the facilities, but nothing is a "dealbreaker" to me. Both of the women's pools could use some interior resurfacing, the himalayan sea salt room (jjimjilbang) doesn't seem to get as hot as it should in order for there to be a therapeutic benefit, the provided towels could be replaced (they're getting a bit raggedy), some of the hair dryers in the locker room need replacing. I've gotten the spa package of a body scrub, massage, mini-facial and hair wash but to be honest, it wasn't my cup of tea (during the body scrub it felt like they exfoliated parts of my body I didn't even know existed!). I'm planning to try a facial one day and hear they are great. I definitely recommend coming here as a way to decompress and treat yourself to some relaxation. :)

I usually get the #5, and sitting in the sauna and hot tub afterward is sooo relaxing. But the #1 is definitely worth it too! This is the kind of place where you can actually spend some time, unwind, and leave feeling refreshed from head to toe. One of my favorite little gems is that I also come here just to get my hair washed. Sometimes I don't want to go through the whole salon experience and sit bent back over a shampoo bowl -- I just want my scalp and hair thoroughly washed and to RELAX. I've been here enough times that it's genuinely become one of my go-to self-care spots.
