The rooms are clean and the place is constantly being updated. This year, they put in brand new flat screens in all the rooms. But if you're looking for what you get inside the room, then you're probably a bit to fussy for this place (or any ski resort in Vermont for that matter). The owners and staff are the friendless people you're ever going to meet. You get one of the best sit down breakfasts of any inn or hotel in the area (most just have a continental breakfast). And if you reserve a spot, they have dinner. Again, excellent food. Well worth it, if you can decide what you want before noon, because you need to order in the morning, so you know everything they make is going to be fresh. If this sounds good, it only gets better. The lounge areas are also some of the best in the area. Upstairs there's a fireplace and piano room with lots of music books. Mid level there's a small library and TV room. And downstairs is the big fireplace room that they hold a Wine and Cheese welcome party every Saturday. And these areas are separate from the rooms, so you can be pretty loud, all night, and you won't bother anybody. The place is like a cross between a Bed and Breakfast and hotel run by your super cool aunt and uncle. The only way you could have a bad time here is if you have an attitude. If you do, please go stay somewhere else. I don't want to run into the next time I stay there. It's not the fanciest hotel. It's not party central. It's not spa service (though they do have a 14 person outdoor hot tub). But it is the best place I've ever stayed in the area. Oh, and the MOOver shuttle bus stops right in front. And the Snow Barn is within walking distance.

This is a small motel close to Mount Snow, 3 stories. The parking lines aren't clearly drawn out…read moreunder the snow, and they don't shovel it all of the way (there's a good shovel on the central walkway but sometimes people park there), so sometimes cars are double-parked or tight. Watch the parking lot exit - snow piles up and makes it hard to see folks coming on the road so several near-misses. Check-in on your phone (they text you a form and then send you a code to your door when the room is ready). Doors use a security code to enter the rooms. Desk hours are 9-5p, so if you go down at 4:45p and ask about why your door code doesn't work - and then find out the staff is already gone for the day, that was a problem. The day we checked in, a lot of people had issues with their room (all different reservations from different groups, too), and the staff left early that day. Eventually after texting a number and the hotline for customer service goes to the closed room (no one picks up on the number and there's no central phone line staffed), they get back to you via text - I believe the staffer on duty was apparently in the shower as she came down with wet hair after about 45min of folks getting anxious about what to do, and she had folks take a key to use instead of using the door code. Rooms are small, simple, and have an exit to the long shared balcony areas; good to put food outside and let it chill since there's no room fridge. Lighting is a bit dark, but suffices. TV has no issues, cable channels. Bathroom door opened the wrong way so you can't come into the room and open the bathroom door at the same time. Was clean, though, so that was good. Breakfast on the weekend included bagels, boiled eggs, and yogurt in a small fridge to the side. They also have a coffee machine, so you could get hot water and coffee. Breakfast bars and tea by the coffee station. There was also a water cooler to the side, but the staffer didn't have any water to refill that after it was empty in the first hour we were there... so only hot water for the rest of the long weekend. Hallway had a closet for self-service on the towels and supplies. Another closet at the entry for your skis, boots, and snow board to hang and dry a bit. Shared common room for folks to eat and play games. Downstairs, a little library, fireplace, pool table (needs some repair, had to put some logs into the bottom to avoid losing balls, ripped surface), a bar with plastic cups, a piano that's out of tune, and some card and board games. Good for the kids to run around and enjoy talking loudly away from the rest of the motel, which was good. Outside a hot tub (we didn't use it). Upstairs some seating and fireplace area, too. Overall, value the place for the location, 5 min from the mountain, and it's a motel. Don't expect 24-7 service, and it is convenient to restaurants and other areas nearby. Shuttle stops by to get to the mountain, too.

They were plenty big enough for myself, my human travel partner, and my canine travel partner-- and well equipped for summer with AC and windows. We loved being able to hang on the porches. The owners were friendly and organized, and the landscaping is beautiful. Highly recommended! We'll be posting photos, too! One thing-- we couldn't figure out why it was called the "Casablanca."

just reading a review of a year ago with people complaining about mosquitoes and hornets and bugs…read more I am writing this with the same complaint about mosquitoes and bugs sitting out on the porch in the restaurant when the sun starts to go down. There's really no excuse for this. Thermo CELL makes an incredibly cheap little gadget which we bring now when we're coming there that you just turn it on and sit it on the floor and it absolutely deters anything like that. I think Management should have taken that review a year ago seriously. The food was very very good the atmosphere is delightful the white staff was very nice. The other concern is that we were seated outside which we wanted and about a half an hour later a family with four children under the ages of six years old were seated right next to us almost shoulder to shoulder where the planter is and they all began screaming and running around and this was for the entire dinner. That should not be anything that should happen. If you have a situation like that where screaming children are around they should be seated at a table around the corner on the deck off by themselves. Only problem is you only have three tables outside on the deck and you could easily fit six but there should be an accommodation for some type of situation like that. When you spend about $200 for a dinner and you're completely inundated with bugs and screaming children both of which are not necessary, you are left with a bad taste in your mouth. Hopefully management will decide to address these issues as they should.

It was like calling a family member to let them know when you were coming to visit. Once we arrived, the property was absolutely stunning. The view of the mountains, the landscaping of the grounds and the outdoor amenities made this place a hidden gem. The innkeepers provided us with supplies to make a fire outside in the well appointed fire pit. It was surrounded by Adirondack chairs, tree stump seats and a large and well constructed pit with plenty of firewood. Both Bob and Cindy (the innkeepers) came out to the fireplace that first night and asked I they could join me. They offered me a local craft beer favorite of theirs and we shot the bull for a good while. GREAT folks and you can tell they bust their behinds going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The room was immaculate. It smelled freshly cleaned when we entered, it looked incredibly clean and was well stocked with teas and coffees as well as what appeared to be local hand soaps. If I could give these folks 10 stars I would! I will be a repeat customer for the foreseeable future visits just to have this hospitality and quaint accommodations again!

I'm gonna share these thoughts in no particular order. The hotel is incredibly dog friendly. That really stuck out.They're human friendly as well, but they are especially dog friendly. My impression of the hotel is that the Kimpton brand is so incredibly good at bringing outdated into today and still keeping the classic or historic elements in place. You can see that here through some of the photos I shared. Feel free to grab a bike or a scooter from the front and take a ride around town or around the property. If you brought your dog, grab a stick from the dog stick library and if you need to sit down and have a drink, every evening at five there's a Social hour where you can meet your neighbors and play some checkers over a glass of complementary wine or beer. There's usually some sort of snack involved and plenty of activities inside or out. The entire staff is friendly and genuinely helpful. It might be an act, but it looks like they enjoyed being there. I would highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. Here's a couple more notes. They have activities from bocce ball to a swimming pool, and the library is full of activities for people of all ages. Don't forget to grab a complementary cup of coffee in the morning on your way out for the day. The property and the rooms were always clean and the AC works like a charm.

After arriving, we spent the day meandering around the quaint town of Weston. Once the evening arrived, we arrived at the amazing Left Bank. The front desk helped us organize our reservation. One of the most enjoyable parts of our evening was finding out that the restaurant has their own sommelier to help us find the right wine! We had a cheese platter to start, steak frites, as well as ice cream and chocolate mousse for dessert. It was all divine! Once the evening winded down, the inn had everything to make us have a nice, relaxing, evening. We sat by the fire outside for some time and enjoyed the tranquility of the Weston. The next day, we were greeted with homemade blueberry muffins and coffee. We also stoped by their bakery, where they had a plethora of delicious breakfast and lunch options, such as farro salad and homemade rotisserie chicken. They were there when I needed them, but also gave the perfect amount of space and distance, even for an inn as quaint as this one. The location is very ideal, it's only a short walk (which I did twice) to the Vermont Country Store, and even though they're closed, it's just few more steps to the Playhouse and Theater Company. I'm a sucker for beautiful Millwork, and the room I stayed in was built so perfectly it felt like it was handcrafted. I'm attaching 2 pictures to show how detailed it was, and with all that detail there's an extra layer of soundproofing which is excellent because I was working remotely during the day. Along with that, the wifi was very fast and had no lags for video calls. From there, it's shut laptop, head downstairs to The Left Bank for a meal and a drink.
