I called Blue Dot to get a quote on repairing my AC unit. The tech came out and checked the system for $82 & told me that I had the option of replacing a defective TXV valve at $1388 or replacing the entire AC unit. He sent a sales person out and I was quoted 6-9K. I called BGE for a second opinion and the tech told me that the unit was low on Freon. He replaced the freon and the AC has been working fine since. Seems that Blue Dot is more interested in selling rather than repairing. I would not recommend. read more

While the service technicians are very nice, the company itself leaves a lot to be desired. After suffering water damage in my home, I contacted Blue Dot to replace my HVAC system. The HVAC System was installed and in April 2022, we were finally able to return to the home. When we returned the weather was fairly warm, and we did not necessarily need the heat. However, just a few days later it turned extremely chilly and it was freezing in our home. Given this, I turned on the heat using the thermostat. However, after about an hour we were still freezing and the temperature had not moved any warmer (even though the heat was on)! Consequently, we had to put on our coats. I called Blue Dot to come out an fix the "no heat" issue since we were freezing. This should not be, given the fact that this was a brand new system that they had installed themselves! I am not sure if it was tested once it was installed, because on one of the coldest nights we had no heat. We are an elderly couple and freezing is not an option for us, especially after spending over $10,000 for a new system. Immediately after have a new HVAC System installed, we started having issues with our gas hot water heater (which is connected to our heating system). We called Blue Dot the technician came out and stated that we needed to have a new hot water heater put into our home! We greed to the recommendation, although the one installed was only about 10 years old! Blue Dot came to install the hot water heater, but it was determined that the wrong one was ordered, so they had to come back. The technician came out and installed the correct water heater and we thought our problems were over! Not so, we started having NO hot water and this was a brand new system! I called them out on numerous occasions to try and determine what was wrong with the hot water heater and the fact that we could NOT take a shower and has to wash up (yucky) in cold water - AWFUL!!!! The water would run hot for a second and then go cold. Numerous technicians came out. About the same time, we had a Blue Dot tech to come out and try to determine why we did not have any heat! The Tech said that the hot water heater was not properly installed and the valves had to be opened! This is ridiculous! We finally got heat, but we still had NO hot water! I continued to call daily back to Blue Dot regarding the no hot water! On several occasions I asked for a supervisor to call me, but not one personal has called me back. I stated emphatically that I wanted to speak with a supervisor to compensate us for the continual loss of hot water, no heat, and the frustration of having to deal with these issues. One of the techs that came out - although very nice, stated that I would need to turn the valves on/off the hot water heater when the heat is on/off - WHAT??? To date, I no one has returned my call, no compensation has been offered, and this issue is NOT resolved for me/us! We are an elderly couple and we feel like Blue Dot has not been forthright in there dealings with us on all of these issues! This is NOT my idea of quality customer service, quality service - period! I am still waiting for a call back! This experience has been one of the worst for us. I have tried calling, asking for a supervisor only to be told one will call you back and NOTHING happens! Had to replace my gas furnace, since the old one was was about to finally die. From start to finish the experience with them has been great. Everyone I dealt with was professional and knew what they were doing. I am very happy that I picked them to do this job. So after the high quality professional experience we had when they put in our new furnace, we call them for service call after our air condition decided to have "issues." My wife called them and was given a date (Saturday 11 June) and a window (2-6pm) on when they would show-up. She gave them her phone number as the point of contact. They were to call her a half an hour before they were to arrive. At around 4pm on Saturday 11 June, I check my phone messages and there was a message for the service person. They said that it was 10:35am (Saturday 11 June) and they were at our front door. We were not home at the time, since that was not the time window that they said they would be showing.  My wife then call them to find out what was going on. The person that she talked to said a manger would be calling her in no more than a half an hour. After 45 minutes there was no call from a manager and she called them back and got the same story (manager would call her in a half and hour). For those who are trying to keep their game cards straight, my wife or myself have yet to hear back from them and we do no expect to. Are we upset that they left us hang? That would be no. They are dead to us and we have moved on. We are sure that we can find a professional company that will happily take our money to fix our air condition and in time take even more of our money when we need to replace our air conditioner. read more

I wasn't sure who to expect for the Summer maintenance of our system and was a bit trepidatious, but I was quickly reassured after meeting Mike. He was thorough in his inspections and provided some great, cost saving advice - plus he smelled good. Now, I normally wouldn't advertise someone's odor on Yelp, but I had to ask him; "What is it that you're wearing?" Smiling, he said that this is a question he is often asked and what a relief that was to hear! The name of the cologne, Aspen - but, his service was even more remarkable. This was the worst experience I have had with any company for any service as far as actually getting the work done. Customer service and scheduling is SO unorganized and inefficient. They have virtually no communication with each other or the customer. I had to call them to receive any updates about timing, as they did not send anyone within the scheduled time block for THREE DAYS in a row. I made an appointment for a planned repair (I had to order a part); however, they ultimately did not come the first scheduled day. On the second day (scheduled appointment for 10-2), they continued to push my appointment back. I repeatedly called for updates, to which I was provided with multiple different excuses and contradicting explanations of what was happening, from various reps. I received different promises for time frames that a tech would arrive, and different names of techs coming. A tech finally arrived at 9PM and informed me the job that the company was clearly aware of prior to sending him out would take 4 hours and had to be rescheduled. On the third day, I again received misleading information about when a tech would arrive. This time block was also 10-2. A tech finally arrived at 5PM after I needed to speak with Dan, a supervisor, who again offered excuses for why the service was behind. Dan also told me he would call to inform me when the tech was close by, but he did not. Overall, the only reason they even deserve any credit is because the tech, Antonio was great. He was very kind and understanding, and very knowledgable about the repair. read more

So service tech was knowledgable, but company charges flat rate per warranty repair, so almost $1,000 for two warranty replacements. But at least I was told parts would be ordered and in today. Wrong! Called tonight to check and was told they would be in tomorrow night. Newer unit, 7 years old, still under warranty. Biggest complaint is that I was told one thing and had to find out for myself it was a lie! Representative was unapologetic even after I told her I was provided different information. Would have called around before signing contract if I knew about delay Would go elsewhere now, but already in for diagnostic and wasted a day waiting for parts I thought would have been here already. Won't be doing business with them in future. Update 9/13/19 Spoke with manager 9/6/19 and she assured me the install would happen 9/7/19. They came out on 9/7/19 and spent 2 hours installing the wrong parts and then told my wife they had to wait until Monday to contact Carrier for replacements (Unit is 7 years old!). No calls until I reached out from vacation on 9/10/19 and they still had my number the order, even though I said I was out of town and provided wife's information. Called back and parts were in and they scheduled for 9/11/19. 9/11/19 tech spent a little over an hour finishing replacement. Wife paid the remainder of balance. 9/13/19 I called and complained about the cost. When I signed contract I didn't realize I was paying $950 for 3 hours of labor, and basically a plug and play labor. Was basically told that's how it got and would forward my concerns. I asked for a manager to call back and I don't think that's happening. So here I am laying it out for everyone so you don't make same mistake. As soon as the warranty runs out on labor sign up with someone other than this company fro a warranty or shop around for other labor rates. Worst experience in some time. So finally got in touch with customer service manager who spoke with service manager and understood my issues. We were able to come to agreement and I felt like she understood my issues. I have been using Blue Dot since the 80's and loved them. The service was top notch and it was a fantastic value. Today...not so much. My furnace stopped working and I called them to fix it. The super-cheery woman who answered the phone said the technician will be there that day. Great! Then she told me that there would be a $65 charge. HUH??? I have a service contract and this is the first time they've charged me for a diagnosis. She explained if I didn't have the contract, the cost would be $85. I asked if I were to have them do the repair, would that be deducted from the cost. The answer was (as you could guess since this is one of the reasons I'm writing this review) was NO. The technician came out and found the issue. He said he'd need to check his phone to see how much this is going to cost to fix. He came up with $500! He said I got a 10% discount since I have a service contract. Amazing that with the 10% it came down to $500 even. He told me he would have to order the parts and it would take a few days. I told him I'd think about this. I called a great HVAC guy who came out the next day, saw the broken parts and said this was a common problem. These parts wear out over time. He replaced them, the furnace works great and it cost me $211. I called Blue Dot and asked them exactly what do I get for this service contract. It doesn't seem like much outside of being robbed. She told me I get two inspections and cleanings a year plus a 10% discount for repairs and parts and 5% off a replacement furnace or A/C. I don't know, those discounts are just insulting. The two cleanings a year are just slightly lower in price than the "night in shining armor" HVAC guy who came out and saved us from the upcoming frigid weather at a fraction of Blue Dot's estimate. read more

Wish I could say they were great but I had two guys come out to the house to give an estimate and they spent 1 hr explaining the process and my options. After I left work early to attend this appointment, I never received any quote, ever. I called twice and they still never sent it. I finally got a call from the sales guy and he said he didn't send it because he thought I would have already chosen another company, therefore, he didn't send it. He then stated he would have it to me by that evening and of course, nothing. I understand in these times, business such as Blue Dot are slammed but to waste my time and not even provide the service for which you are hired to do is beyond me. We asked for a system check on our heat pump and Propane/AC systems. The technician reported a long list of problems including mold inside units, leaks, etc. He even showed us a video from his phone of a failed leak test and claimed the leaks would cost more to repair than the units were worth. They prepared an estimate of $22,000 to replace both. I opened both units and quickly discovered that the video did not even match our units. I called another company... they reported that both units were working fine. Avoid BlueDot ! read more

After reading all the positive reviews online, we decided to go with BlueDot to replace our central AC and an additional unit in our house. We had it installed over the winter to get the best price and take advantage of the zero-percent financing offered through Home Depot. Even so, we spent thousands of dollars with BlueDot. The sales and installation process went smoothly, but the first time we used the new AC it conked out within a couple of weeks. To make a very long story short, the unit was not draining properly and was activating the safety switch. Over the next several weeks, this happened again and again. Each time, a new repairman would come out and fix it, convinced it was fixed for good. Finally, the company decided that the unit must have been improperly installed. After much back and forth and repeated calls by us to managers at BlueDot, the reinstall was scheduled. A new team showed up and within 5 min. the main guy said the drain had been installed backwards. I asked him why half a dozen repair guys in the previous several months had not realized that?! He didn't know. He fixed the AC and it has been working since. However, this has cost my husband and me countless lost work hours, not to mention many sleepless 90+ degree nights for us and our children. The inconvenience has been huge. BlueDot has been very polite and apologetic, but was never proactive about following up, we always had to call them. And they have done NOTHING at all in terms of compensating us in any way. Their "money back guarantee" means they will come and remove the unit if we are not happy. No way, after all this!! I will say I am very impressed with the professionalism of all of the repair guys who came through. They apologized for the inconvenience and agreed that our experience was making them and the company look bad. I don't know where the disconnect is - higher-ups in management? - but this company needs to get its act together or risk losing new customers. read more

Just had the worst experience ever. I've used these guys for years but not anymore. Technician showed up for winter maintenance and said heat okay . Then proceeded to take ac unit apart while I was out of the room and called me down to say my system is 15 years old and leaking coolant. Said salesperson would be right over to give me estimate. Over an hour later sales person shows up and pressures me into having the work done The next day even though I mentioned I wanted to get another estimate. Company never called to let me know what time they were coming. I called and was told to call sales who didn't call me back. I promptly cancelled and got another opinion. Was experiencing water leaking from my AC unit. The Technician said it needed a pan to catch the condensation and was installed without one which would cost over $1,000 to fix. I argued that why then it has never leaked water before. Once he left I fixed it myself. my unit had started to lean back and there was an internal condensation catch that it wasn't catching. Leveled the system and it was fine after. I don't know if he was just incompetent or was trying to rip me off. I would avoid. read more

Had a tech come out a month ago because our unit was short-cycling. He poked around, told me he couldn't start the unit from the contactor, told me it was bone-dry of freon, told us it'd be $800 to charge it with freon ($215 for the first pound, then $100 for each pound after) in addition to the $190 service call, and tried to push a new unit on us (approximately $3000 + labor, estimated at 2kish, for a $5000 replacement of just the outdoor unit) We weren't satisfied with that diagnosis (mostly because they did no actual diagnosing) and they sent out a supervisor when we asked for a refund, and after I told them, I went out there myself and started the unit from the contactor. The supervisor was out 5 days later, a bit more explanatory, but didn't offer a nitrogen test or anything to actually test if there was a leak, yet told me it was losing pressure, and also went the route of trying to push a new unit. We called Allied Philips Heating and Air Conditioning four hours ago. They sent someone same day. Tech came two hours ago, did a nitrogen test, tested the lines from the outdoor, and indoor units, showed me the gauges, told me the pressure was holding well, and filled it with freon at $50 a pound total. (plus, $85 for the service call.) It's running great as I type this. Also quoted me that if I needed a new unit, they'd put in both an indoor and outdoor for approximately $6000 total (A quality Trane unit at that.) I'll be harassing BlueDot for a $190 refund. I could let it go, but now I'm feeling vindictive. That happens when you have to heat your home for a month with a wood-burning stove like a medieval peasant. And the funny thing is, if BlueDot had just done the Nitro test, and filled me up with freon, I'd have gladly paid the $800-900, even thought it'd be more expensive than what I just paid, the first go-round, just to save myself the hassle, but they had to try push some new hardware. I have never left a one star review in my life. I called blue dot to make an appointment for routine service of my HVAC unit. Left a message and they called back the next day. I agreed to the service contract they offered and gave them payment info and scheduled an appointment. The appointment was a month away and was next available. I wasn't thrilled with the time frame especially since my credit card was charged the day after I made the appointment. The very next day I get a call again from the same person (Mary) to schedule my service. I told her that I had done it the day before and she said she had no record of it but put me on the calendar for service as I stated was already schedule. Scheduled appointment day arrives (10-2 window) and no tech shows up. I call Bluedot at 2:15 and was told "I am sorry no one called but there were a lot of emergencies so we had to bump your appointment". Ok people have emergencies it was 90 degrees I get it, but a call, in advance, would have been the professional thing to do. So now we try to reschedule service (I am thinking it should be within a few days since they failed to provide a good customer experience up to th. But no, next available appointment was 6 weeks out. I immediately demanded a refund and said I was taking my business elsewhere. They made no effort to try and keep me as a customer whatsoever. 3 days later I am still waiting on my refund. Will have to call today to check on the status. Big company, terrible customer service and clearly does not care about their customers. Update: was called by the customer service manager following this post. She was nice and apologetic, and offered to get me an appointment within the next day or two. I declined and asked about the status of my refund. I was told it can take 2-3 weeks to process. Fast forward 23 days later and still no credit. I call blue dot and the operator told me that it appears that I still have an active service contract, and that it has not been cancelled/ refunded. They sent a tech out who looked in the ducts, looked at my furnace and said "No problem here." Took all of 5 minutes and charged me $149! All I can say is "Wow!" Adam B. and Blue Dot rock. We had a thermostat that went up two days ago. I know my way around electrical devices, so I figured I could pick one up at the local orange-colored big box store and replace it. After following the directions, flipping all the breakers, still, no air. It was 97 degrees yesterday, and I have company coming this weekend, so getting this fixed was top priority. I called Blue Dot at 7:50 p.m. last night, explained to them the issue, and was hoping they would be able to send someone in the next few days. The dispatcher, who was really friendly and professional, let me know she could have someone out that same night between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. She also let me know it's no additional cost. I was shocked. A couple of hours later, I got a call from Adam who called to let me know he was on his way, showed up, professionally dressed, and ready to work. He went through what I did, told me likely what went wrong, and helped run through the issues. My favorite part: he didn't talk down to me at any point. He explained which of the wires likely had tripped the fuse, and then, as a precautionary measure, checked the condensor, where he found a bad component. I started worrying it would be a couple of days for him to order the part, but no, he had it in the back of his truck. He got it installed, showed me why the old one went bad, and cleaned while he was in the unit. An hour after showing up initially, I was back in business, and felt like I had learned a whole lot. Not only that, Adam gave me pointers on maintaining the unit, gave me some general ballparks on how much longer the system had before it would start going up, and even some recommendations around which brands and types to look for as replacement, and was brutally honest on the pros and cons. Again, he didn't talk down to me through any of this. The bill was incredibly reasonable. The cost of the service call was $82, and that would have also been $82 had he not come out within a moment's notice. The part cost was $283, which he showed me on his phone, and told me I was welcomed to price on the Internet if I wanted to. All in all, this was the best experience I've had with an HVAC contractor ever (and I have had one every year for the past six years). Blue Dot and Adam B. will be my go-to guys from here on out. read more

Horrible service! My husband and I purchased two mini split units and one of them started making a loud noise less than year after the purchase. The technician has been to our home multiple times and they can't find what's wrong! The Customer Service Manager keeps telling us that someone will call us and that they are working on it but nothing gets ever done. I will not recommend this company to anyone. read more

This is day 7 of no air conditioner during the hottest week of the summer. We had Blue Dot replace our HVAC unit in 2017. We kept up with the scheduled maintenance twice a year. At beginning of May when we had unexpected temps in the 90's the AC wasn't working so we called Blue Dot and they sent Fernando...don't let him in your home. He did not do his job at all. He did the usual check of the system, said we had a dirty filter in that we were leaking Freon and it would cost $400 to replace the Freon that leaked. When we questioned him he totally blew us off but since we were in dire need of the working system we paid it. Then here we are in August, 3 months later and system is not cooling at all! Another technician comes in and the cooling coil has gone bad! Seriously in a system less than 5 years old! We have the $18 a month warranty on parts so we only have to pay for labor but how long does it take to get a Rheem cooling coil? When you call the customer service reps say the same thing, your part is on order, we don't have an ETA! The factory is in North Carolina, we can drive and get it ourselves. I ask for service managers to call me back but they never do. Please avoid Blue Dot and their affiliate ARS! Extremely poor customer service and no empathy about a family suffering in a home with no AC when temperatures are in the high 90's. read more

My air conditioning stopped working in early July 2021. I hired someone to repair it but he was unable to accurately locate the issue. I contacted Blue Dot Services who suggested that I entirely replace my air handler. They completed the installation on 23 July 2021; the new unit has worked probably for a total of 9 days. I had to call Blue Dot back almost immediately as a result of the air handler and outdoor unit freezing. Getting someone to come back out to my house was a nightmare while the ac was off and it was steadily in the high 80s and low 90s. I had at least one appointment window for which no one ever showed up or called to relay that a technician would not be coming. I called the office several times and was assured that someone would be out and that they were just running late. When someone finally made it out the following day, I was advised that my brand new filter was "filthy," and received an invoice for Blue Dot's standard diagnostic fee. Two days and another brand new filter later, the unit froze again. My system had been shut off for 2 days to allow it to thaw, admittedly at no fault of Blue Dot's, it was still frozen. However, the latest technician to come to my home left the a/c unit turned on all day after advising that it should be off to allow the system to thaw once again. This technician also tried to leave me with another invoice for a diagnostic fee although clearly no diagnosis had been made as of that date. They also suggested I purchase a new condenser unit without ever figuring what is wrong with the existing one. Considering it was working perfectly until they installed the air handler, even if I have to get a new condenser unit, I will 100% get it from literally anywhere else. Update for 25 August- After being assured they'd be sending a "veteran with some 40 years of experience who would not be in a hurry," a tech with 5 years of experience was dispatched to my home. The unit at this point had been completely thawed, he deduced that there was "Nothing wrong with the unit," and left. The air handler and condenser coils have been frozen and thawed about 3 times at this point. I can't imagine a unit with zero problems would remain perpetually frozen any time the a/c is run for more than a day. I've contacted a 2nd company who has advised that almost certainly the air handler was not installed properly in the first place. I spent nearly 6500 dollars with this company to replace an air handler only not to have air conditioning for an entire month. read more

This long because I wanted to include everything and I cannot actually rate the service as we never had a technician arrive. On Saturday June 20 our AC broke. After calling three companies Blue Dot was the only one who said they could service it Monday, the others said Tuesday. Monday comes and by the end of our 10-2 window no word from the technician so I call their office and they let me know there are a lot of emergencies and I've been moved to all day window. That's fair, there was a heat warning and I understand the elderly and sick may jump the line. By 6:30 they called to reschedule. Originally they wanted to make my appointment Wednesday but eventually agreed to give me an all day window on Tuesday. Tuesday comes and at 7:55 at night the technician finally calls to see if we'll be there. I miss the call because I'm setting up a tent on the porch for my son and I to sleep in, but call the office at 8:04 to say yes, we'll be here. They assure me they'll let dispatch know to send the technician. 8:55 comes and no technician so I call and the after hours office let's me know that the tech would normally call near the end of a job and that they spoke to dispatch and the tech was on the way from the next town over. You can get to our house anywhere from that town within 30 minutes even in bad traffic. 9:55 comes and no tech so I call back. They take my information and I'm told a manager will look in to what is going on and get back to me. 10:55 no tech and no word from the manager, so J call again and I'm told that dispatch will attempt to contact the tech again, but that if he doesn't arrive by midnight I should contact the office when it opens at 7am to schedule a Wednesday appointment, so ultimately they would get the Wednesday reschedule they wanted from the first time I rescheduled? I called another service company and have an appointment for Wednesday July 24. It is rather arrogant to think I would continue to reschedule an appointment with Blue Dot after what they've put us through. read more

I called twice to Blue dot and the last time, they told me he was 15 minutes away. I had to rush to get there (I am the owner), the tenant was home. I call Blue Dot on my way there and they say, "Oh he left no one answered the door". A complete lie, the tenant was home, looking out the front door, she said not one car even came into the parking lot. No one rang the door bell at all. If the tech was there, why would he not call my phone? So then blue dot tells me that he will try to come back by 2. My tenant rescheduled her doctors appt for this and i took off half a day for this appt. They have no respect for your time and do not care about customers. Stay away. read more

Randy Stevens showed up early. He was wearing a mask and his pink booties. Came prepared for all service. He answered all of my questions and left the areas neat and clean. I called Blue Dot because we had seen their vans and trusted that their presence meant quality. I requested a visit from Blue Dot to provide us with an estimate on the replacement of our second floor unit. However, upon arrival, the "salesman", without even looking at the unit, or even inquiring about the types of issues that prompted the call in the first place, went into a very aggressive and intense sales pitch, trying to get me to tell him what other companies I had called and bad mouthing smaller companies. When he asked, "Who else have you called", I answered, "I'd rather not say who right now because that's not my goal", he said with an agitated tone, "So what's the big secret?" I was shocked. He was also intensely touting the fact that Home Depot uses them. Well, Home Depot definitely should NOT use them! When I finally pushed back on his approach, (after OVER an hour) he became even angrier, finally looked at the unit for maybe a minute, and stormed out of the house. He didn't even leave his card. If there were a 0 star rating, I'd give them that. I must also say that I called Blue Dot 2 times to tell them directly about this to give them a chance to redeem themselves before I published a public review, but I never received a call back. read more

I used Blue Dot for several years. Then about 3 years ago they installed a Serco surge protector on my HVAC systems. It exploded and caught fire, damaging the side of my home. Thank goddness when it happened it was raining, and I supposed the fire was doused. We discovered the hole in the side of the house the next day. Blue Dot took no responsibility, and neither did Serco. Blue Dot would not even return my calls after a few weeks. Then, I don't know why, I had Blue Dot service my furnace. The gas line was not connected properly and the repairman did not test for leakage (as required by law.) In the middle of the night, I awoke to a strong small of gas. I had to get my family out and call BGE for an emergency shut-off and repair. Again - Blue Dot took no resopnsibility. I've called many times. Nothing. But every year I get a call asking me to purchase a service plan. I have repeatedly asked to be taken off the mailing list, to no avail. A truly disgusting level of customer "service" and thoroughly horrible leadership. read more

BlueDot sold me a lemon and they're never able to fix the problem. For a three year old unit I've had them out a half dozen times and miraculously the problem always comes back. I have an appointment tomorrow. If they can't fix it this time I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I've never been more disappointed in a company. read more

I am a very careful on who I pick to do stuff in my house. I will pay good price as long as it gives me peace of mind. And that is exactly what they told me, they where a little but you would not have to worry about your equipment again. I went to home depot to buy a new unit for my house, my house have 2 units so we where going to fix one on 2018 and the other one 2019. Don't get me wrong....Blue dot takes customer service to a hole new level. Everyone that came to my house where super respectful and so polite....they are available 24hrs and they take make you feel like they are going to take care of you. So, I bough a new unit on September 2018 and the people that install it left a lose cable and on the electric box of the house and it was not turning on the fan. I didn't worry because It was not hot or cold... I did tell them that needed fix before winter. So after they fix that on may the machine broke down again...this time was something on the heat pump. In total for this Brand New $7,000.00 unit they took around three weeks in October to fix and 2 weeks April. A total of 4 people came to my house to figure out the problem and fixed it. September 2019...I went straight to Blue dot and payed $6,000 for a Brand New Unit....My house is 2006...I figure they have very good employees and I like dealing with them lets give them another chance...after all I just gave them $7K, they are going to make sure everything works. So, I was wrong...I don't know what happen but I lost count of how many people came to try and figure out what was wrong. December came and my Unit was not working...I was paying for something that was not working on winter...with a 1 year old baby. I was so mad that I called a supervisor because that is not normal...no business would survive this...excellent customer service but they suck delivering the product. After a few days of Blue Dot telling me that a supervisor will contact me one they suddenly I was called by a supervisor. I explained the situation and she told me that Blue dot will make things right, That was December 17, she told me she will get back to me to fix the issue....On December 26 I received a call to schedule an appointment to fix the unit. I spend Christmas in the cold, with my one year old son, with a $6k New Unit. they came eventually and fix the problem. But up to this point I have not received a call from them apologizing or anything...and I just spend a total of $13k on them....pluss my electric bill for decemeber was for $280.00. In summary Blue Dot is not worth your money, If you are willing to pay top dollars go somewhere else but not Blue Dot. They will screw your life with a smile. If your not sure to use them or not let me know, I can tell more about my experience, I don't want anyone else to go through this. First I was told that I had have both my furnace & AC replaced, then because blue dot either couldn't or didn't know how to replace it (it runs on Kerosene) they said just the AC. They were very clean, and went right to work, however they seemed like they didn't have a clue to what they were doing. I wouldn't recommend them. If for some reason I have to replace my furnace I will not be using Blue Dot. For a professional company seems like they are very clueless on their field. read more

BlueDot - The WORST customer service of any A/C install/repair company. Purchased a NEW heat pump 3 months ago and it has shut down already. Repeatedly a No Show for scheduled appointments with no call to let you know they aren't coming or they arbitrarily re-scheduled you for another day which leads to wasted vacation days. My air handling unit went out on Christmas Eve previous to Winter Storm Elliott. My house would not go above 56 degrees, which is what prompted the call. I called Blue Dot on Christmas Eve and spoke to Heather and made arrangements at 10:39am for a 2-6pm window for a technician to diagnose my air handling unit's inability to heat my house. At 4:50pm, Kim called me back and asked if I could reschedule. She was very disrespectful when I said that I could not reschedule because my house was at 56 degrees and dropping with the negative wind-chill that was affecting MD. No technician ever came to diagnose my air handling unit and I was never called back to be forewarned of their no-show. My son and I spent Christmas in our house that reached lows of 50 internally in winter coats indoors... how nice of Blue Dot. I still have not had a technician come out and diagnose my unit. I was finally called today, 26December ( 48 hours later) and offered an appointment tomorrow or Wednesday. Blue Dot is not to be trusted if you desire clear communication, quality customer service, or timely service. If I could give negative stars, then I would. Do not use the "services" from Blue Dot... they are abysmal at best. read more

I would rate Blue Dot 0 stars if that were possible. I scheduled a service call for no heat at my sister's condo (she is ill and in the hospital, so I handled the situation). The technician was supposed to perform the service between 8 am and 12 pm on 2/24, and he was to call me 30-40 minutes in advance so that I could let him into the condo. I was working at home all day and received no calls at all from anyone at Blue Dot; I could not run errands because I did not want to be too far away when I got the call. I called the service number at 11:15 and again later in the afternoon and was told that I was "on the schedule" and that they had my phone number. The clerk could not check with a dispatcher or anyone else to figure out how far behind they were running. I never received any kind of call as a courtesy to say they were too busy and could they reschedule for another day--nothing like that. On 2/25, still no contact from Blue Dot--they are certainly not worried about follow-up business from me--there won't be any. Fortunately, on 2/24, I had made a backup appointment with BGE Home for 2/26, and that technician came within the specified time window and took care of the problem. read more

I have used Blue Dot for 3 decades, from Olney MD to Baltimore to Ellicott City and now Annapolis. Up until living in Annapolis I was very, very happy with the services. I'm no longer a satisfied customer. Currently I live in a townhouse; the existing AC units are on the roof. I purchased a service plan with Blue Dot, as I always have, and now the problems begin. First, their HVAC tech came out to the house, "Listened" to my roof unit, prescribed a $6000 system and explained that it would be installed through an existing port in the ceiling. The installation techs came out 2 weeks later and after assessing the roof units and interior explained that they would have to tear up most of the interior ceiling to install the system as planned. I was unhappy with that turn of events and opted to have a service call on the existing units. The service tech came out, took one look at the roof and complained that he had a "bad back" and could not climb up on the roof to look at the units much less repair anything. He told me to reschedule. I did reschedule, explaining as I scheduled the visit that the units were rooftop and to send 2 techs and a ladder. A week later a single tech called to say he was on his way. I asked if he was prepared with an assistant and ladder to work on the rooftop units. He came to my house an hour later (!) saying he suddenly had a "family emergency" and could not provide service. I had to reschedule again. So now I have a $2000 deposit on a unit that can't be installed as promised, and 2 aging compressors which no tech is willing to service due to their location. And I paid in advance for a years' service contract. I have asked a manager to call and--you guessed it--radio silence. Oh and PS while on the phone to schedule these frequent visits I am treated to the prerecorded message explaining how this company "Loves to delight our customers" and will leave me with a smile. :( read more

Poor customer service through the call center. Technicians do not come within their scheduled appointment window and accurate information is not shared on estimate time of arrival (eta). Blue Dot installed my unit and it continues to be under warranty. I had an issue with my thermostat and communicated my issue when creating my service request however, the technician had no knowledge of parts needed when presenting. My appointment window was 10-2pm. At 2pm when the technician did not show or call I called the call center for a status update. The response was that they were running behind and they could not tell me where I was on the list. At 3:45pm I called again still no update shared on an eta. At 4:15pm I received a call from the call center to state the technician was 30 min away. After no arrival at 5:45pm, 1.5 hour later I called the call center again. At that point they stated they will send a message to the technician to get a status. The technician called me directly to state 45 min away. He arrived at 6:40pm. I was his 7th appointment (2nd to last) for the day. I shared my issue and showed him my thermostat and he told me he did not have what was needed. He stated that parts stores are now closed until Monday but the part would be ordered and available Monday for installation. I called Sunday to make an appointment for Monday as directed by my technician. An appointment was made and I given the window 12-4pm Monday (so they could pick up the needed part in the morning). I called for an eta when 4pm presented and I had not heard from Blue Dot that day. It was said that they had my appointment but "running behind scheduled" and could not share any further updates but would call when on the way. At 5pm the call center called, I believe Penny was her name. She stated the tech was 30-45 min out. I inquired if the tech had what he need needed and she looked at the notes in the system and stated, "yes." I asked additional questions to ensure he had the thermostat part that was to be ordered. Penny stepped away from the phone to call the tech to confirm. After 3-5 minutes she returned to the phone and said, "no... he did not have the right part." This continued for two more days. I was without heat for 5 days following the visit Saturday due to poor communication internally and lack of ordering the appropriate replacement part. Additionally, my unit is under warranty for parts and labor and the technician invoiced me for the visit that Saturday where he was not able to do anything to address the issue at hand. I escalated my experience to Manager, William. Hoping efforts will be made to improve communication within the call center and address staffing issues if they can not meet the customer's need. The technicians were nice but I would give a one star to operations and the call center. read more
