Worst service....bot new system four years ago....recent maintenance visit wound up as four tech visits as system keeps going down. Installed, reinstalled, and uninstalled moisture sensor they sold me....called service manager for days and NO RESPONSE! Also no refund received for uninstalled sensor ($300). Blue Dot Services ruined my Christmas Holiday by promising me heat and NEVER showed up. On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, when the Technician finally showed up he did not have any Fuses to troubleshoot my (2) HVAC Units; and he had to leave me and go to Home Depot for 4 Fuses; however they only had 2 Fuses so he replaced 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs and both units started working and 3 hours later the unit upstairs stopped working so I had to sleep downstairs on my couch. Thursday, December 29, 2022 when the Technician showed up; he says that no one told him to bring Fuses; so he left and went back to the store. I am waiting for him to return. New expensive air conditioning system having problems: 1. A new air conditioning system was installed, and after a few minutes of outputting cool air, it began outputting WARM air! 2. The new thermostat did not turn the system off even when it was set at a temperature selection HIGHER than the temperature of the interior of the house. The technicians explained at the day of installation that they did not have enough refrigerant to make the system work in an optimal fashion, but that someone would come over to input additional refrigerant the next day. Wait and see..... Not having enough refrigerant would certainly constrain the system to cool efficiently, but it should not be outputting WARM air, causing the house to be warmer than the outside temperature in mid-July. read more

Very Disappointed. I set up an appointment for a replacement quote for my A/C unit. The one thing I will say that is positive is that they had same day appointments (not that they were on time). A guy named Dave came to my house, within 5 minutes I discussed with him that I already had 2 other competing quotes for $4600 and for $5500. He immediately told me that he would be no where near that price, more like $10,000. I said then let's make this quick if they weren't going to be competitive with the quote. He then proceeded to tell me that Blue Dot is a BIG corporation and does 14 of these per day and that they charge more for their service. I asked why would I voluntarily pay more money to use Blue Dot? He cut me off in the middle of my question and said, "are you going to let me finish?". I told him no and to get out of my house. Yesterday (Tuesday) I called the home office to discuss this and was told I would receive a return phone call and still have not. Please spend your money elsewhere. It's too much of an investment to just use someone because they are a large company. BTW, BGE home was one of the quotes I received and I believe that they are a larger company. read more

So I really didn't want to write this review, but I now a bit annoyed. So we had Blue Dot come out to look at our heat pump/ac. I knew the system was old and out of warranty, and used the old no longer available Freon. The first person was the "Service" guy who came out tested the system and proclaimed that we had a Freon leak (still hasn't explained how that happened, but no worries). He assured me he would get me 2 quotes; one for repair (obviously not a great idea on a 15y/o system) and the me for a new system. He left me with a piece of paper as a receipt for the service call and clearly told me that they don't do repairs on a system as old as ours. Not a problem, In the back of my mind I was always prepared to replace. He gets $89, then the same day a "Sales" guy come out to give me a "free" quote for the new system. One point, when the Sales guy came he basically did the same cursory eval of the system. Then started asked me how was going to pay for it. Ok, no problem (I've been in sales for 30 yrs. in another industry), he started discussing financing. I specifically said to the gentleman that based on the quote, I very likely wouldn't be financing. We then spent the next 45 minutes discussing his "financing" prowess (keep in mind, I specifically told him up front, that financing wasn't all that attractive but he thought better to go with his plan). So I sat politely listened, but I was very annoyed. He then gives me to ridiculous quotes. Now remember, I told you I was in sales, so I purchase no big ticket items without thoroughly researching, and in fact, because of my sales experience I tend to do a fairly deep dive, and separate the reality from the sales bs. So, I had a fairly good idea of pricing and I knew his quote was out of line, but I responded with care, since as a sales guy myself, I would want the same. So anyway, even with the high quote, he did leave the door open to some additional discounting, but not much. At this point my wife and I hadn't made any decisions and she asked for 24 hours to review. We also divulged the we wanted to get 3 quotes, and i told him the he was actually the 2d quote we had. I even shared with him that we actually had another quote that was somewhat less than the one he had, but we weren't too impressed with that company. I have no problem paying a bit more if I perceive legitimate value in doing so. I went out of my way to guide this sales guy to a sale, but he had his own mind made up on how he wanted to close me. But...here's the rub and the annoying part: the salesman after we told him we absolutely needed to decide in 24 hrs went into a whole thing about how people never call him back, but I assured him we had problem calling him with our decision. I've been in that situation a million times in 30yrs, I wouldn't do that to a salesman. We then got calls from the Sales Manager trying to close us, no problem, having been a Sales Manager for the lion's share of my career, I have no problem with that. In fact we did get a third quote and this quote was almost exactly what I was thinking we'd end up (I have a complete understanding of the financial dynamics of selling) and we liked the company. So we called the Sales guy as promised and let him know we'd be going in a different direction. Then the calls started, but the one that prompted this review was the last me that we got a couple of hours ago. This time they wanted to quote us a price to "fix" our system. Now remember, and I quote "Yeah we don't repair systems as old as yours", now suddenly that's an option? This was Blue Dot's sale to lose and they did just that with the double talking and high pressure tactics. Also, for all you aspiring sales people, don't talk past the close, and when the potential customer literally gives you a roadmap to close them go ahead and do so. Honestly and without deception. Don't let your personal biases, and stereotypes to cloud your judgment. Here's the lesson: he made a really stupid assumption that we somehow couldn't afford to purchase the system outright and needed his help getting us financed. I'll be paying cash for the system being installed, and saved myself $4k in the process. read more

I've been using this company since 2014 because I'm stuck in a warranty with them. A warranty which they regularly try to void. Thankfully I kept my paperwork because they've told me multiple times that they don't have proof of my warranty. They once tried to tell me my warranty was void because I wasn't the original owner...because my last name changed... I showed them my court paperwork and everything for the name change and they didn't budge until I mentioned a lawyer. Many times they just haven't showed up for an appointment while I waited up in a house with no a/c or heat. They tell me my warranty is only 5 years, when it clearly states 12 on the paperwork. I've had one employee from this company who is amazing though, which is why they get two stars instead of one. They were amazing when they were trying to sell me a unit, and have been incredibly lackluster since then. When my warranty is up here, or if something happens and I need a new unit, I will be happy to switch to a new company in the future. read more

Don't use this company. I had an 8am to 12pm appointment. I called at 10:30am to make sure they were still coming. Becca said Randy would be coming but he would be a little late. 1:30pm no Randy so I called Becca again. She stated he would be here at 3pm. 3:30pm I called again and she stated he was finishing up an appointment in 21214 then he would be to my house in 21128 and not to worry. 5pm no Randy so I call Becca and she states I was called but didn't answer and they had to cancel my appointment. No one called me and I was furious with her. She stated I spoke to a different Becca and she transfered me to some manager who of course never returned my call. My Mother had a rep come by her house and the way he approached my mom was disrespectful, not informative and very much, over stepping boundaries. He asked my mom repeatedly, "where she would get the money" after pitching a package to ensure his close today. In negotiation, he was practically off my mom's kitchen chair trying to earn her business today. Would have went with them if he wasn't so aggressive. I've never witness this type of haggling just to get a sale. His aggressiveness was not appreciated today, but there is no reason to speak in that tone or manner where my Mom had to stand up out of her chair to kick him out of the house. I have been a customer since 2009. I have carried a maintenance plan all that time. Over the years, I have had too many experiences where the technician wasn't able to show up in the time window or at all. Yesterday our lower level air compressor stopped working. It was 82 degrees in the house. I called and got the weekend/after hours phone service, and they scheduled me for today between 8 and 12. At 1130 I called to verify the tech would still be able to make it by noon. Guess what...there was no record of my call in the system and no appointment set. For the most part, the techs who have serviced the units over the past 10 years have been very processional (with one or two exceptions). Our two heating and AC systems are pretty close to end of life, and because of continued poor customer service, we will be looking at other companies for quotes on replacing the systems. read more

I called them to look at our Trane that we had originally purchased from this company when they were known as Suburban. They still have the record of our purchase. They were quality providers back then. Our cooling went out in the midst of the hottest summer in decades so I called them. They came right out. The technician claimed we needed a new compressor and that it would cost $3800 dollars and take weeks to get the part because our system is 19 years old. We paid them $89 for this visit. He then passed this info to their office and a salesman, Ben, came out and quoted a price of 12k - 14k for a new unit and claimed we could have it NLT Tuesday. Meanwhile were able to find a firm that specializes in Trane, which is what we own. He came out the next morning . He said the problem was a blown fuse and damage to the wire connection. It took him less than 20 minutes to diagnose and repair the problem. He charged us $184. Our cooling system is working great. I think Blue Dot are scammers. Their technician is either incompetent or a liar. They are no longer quality or trustworthy service providers but are instead scammers who tried to take advantage of us because we are all females in this house and I am a senior citizen. read more

When my AC stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year, I called several companies. To their credit, Blue Dot was able to send someone out within about 2 hours for a $119 fee. Unfortunately, thats where the positive experience ends. The coils were frozen, so there was nothing the technician could do. He spent the next 30 minutes trying to sell me on a new unit, something that I was somewhat interested in, but not at that point. He promised a sales person would call me later that day and that the office would schedule a new tech to come out the following day after the unit thawed. No one called. It wasn't until I called the next morning that a new technician was scheduled to come out. The salesman also called, but wasn't able to come out until the unit was diagnosed. Day 2, around 12pm, a 2nd BlueDot tech arrived. He was much kinder than the previous one, and not interested in a hard sell - just in getting my AC working. He diagnosed an evaporator coil leak that was leaking refrigerant. He pumped additional refrigerant into the unit so that I could at least get some cold air flowing on another 90 degree day. The total charge was $544 (including the $119 fee). The AC kicked on and the house cooled off within about 4 hours. Day 3, the AC was working until around 2pm, when the refrigerant had evidently completely leaked out. I desperately called BlueDot - who was unable to send anyone out until the next day. I also tried calling the salesmen 4 times to even schedule a time for him to come out and give us a quote for a new unit to no avail. We ended up having to spend the night in a hotel because my daughter's nursery was 90 degrees. Day 4, a different company came out, gave us a quote for a new unit, pumped refrigerant into the old unit (free of charge), and provided us with complimentary window units until they could install a new heat pump. They came the next morning (Saturday) and installed a new unit by 11am. Almost a week later and the sales folks at BlueDot still haven't called me back. read more

Stay away from this company. They are so incompetent . Had a brand new unit installed about three years ago. Top of the line Carrier unit and it has been nothing but trouble. After they installed the unit, Freon started leaking and had Blue Dot come out. They could not solve the problem and just put more Freon in. The next Summer, same problem. Called another Hvac company and was informed that there was a leak of Freon and cost $2,000 to fix the problem. Now we are having problems with the heating unit. Heating unit stopped working and now needs more repair and the unit is only three years old. Must be an installation problem due to incompetent techs in the company. Stay away!!!! read more

Asked for the $59 tune up and was told that the sale ended and it is now $69. No problem. It is still unclear to me what services you get in a tune-up, but it seems to be more of a checkup. Mostly, its a way for them to get into your house and discover issues for which they can charge you to repair. In my case, the issues they found were dirty AC coils ($440 quote to clean), and the installed compressor capacitor was the wrong size and could damage my unit ($234 quote to replace). They also priced the costs for items if they were to break including a special offer to replace my complete 5 year old system. Beyond the exorbitant pricing (coil cleaner is $8 per can and a do-it-yourselfer can clean the coils in less than an hour), my technician was either incompetent or dishonest. I emailed the manufacturer and verified that the capacitor in my unit was indeed the one that they specify. Further, the part is readily available for $20 or so. A do-it-yourselfer can replace it in about 10 minutes. I don't begrudge a company for charging for their services enabling them to pay their employees a fair wage, make a fair profit and to stay in business. But I would have paid $674 for $20 dollars in parts and perhaps and hour of labor. Further, some of the work was totally unnecessary. I will not be calling Blue Dot again. read more

I placed a Lead for a HVAC Tune Up special through Home Depot. After 5 days no response I contacted HD whose manager called their Lead program mgr. I received a follow up call in 30 minutes. Tune day was fine and was told I needed new system. OK. I also called other companies for quotes. I then put in a Sales Quote Lead through HD for a sales call quotation. Took two phone calls, from me, for them to set appointment date. On appointment day, they were a no show at appointment time. When I called (why I did I don't know) I was told that I was not on their schedule. Needless to say they are also now not in my schedule for an installation/ sale. read more

BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THE SO CALLED "TUNE UP". It's not a tune up! I got a call from Blue Dot asking if I wanted the special "Tune up". $29 only! How could I not resist. They asked morning or afternoon. I told them afternoon. Got a missed call at 3. I called up, and told them I can be there in 45 mins, the lady on the phone says I will let the tech know. I show up at 3:30. This is not a house I live in, I have not moved in yet. No one shows up at 4. I call. They said they don't know when the tech will be there. We will call 45 mins in advance. I said what? You just called me 45 mins ago! The lady on the phone says " sorry, but we can't call the tech because we want them to be safe." Your tech is that irresponsible? Hundreds of companies out there, they call their drivers without any deaths! Anyway, after a very long wait. The guy shows up right around 6:40! WOW! He takes about 15 minutes to get out of his van! He knows I have been waiting for a very long time. The first thing that comes out of his mouth is not a hi or a hello, but are you the owner? I say yes I am. The second thing he says do you know this is not really a tune up. This is a tune up inspection. Where I tell you what's wrong with the system. I say well the system is only 2 to 3 years old and nothing is wrong with it, it works as it should. I can see the surprise in his eyes, He says well, "it's the same like you go to jiffy lube or a oil change place and ask for a tune up, you don't actually get a tune up. Instead, you get what you need to fix". I said well, I don't need a "tune up inspection" I need a "tune up". I have had HVAC tune ups before, it's where they clean the hvac blower, clean the coils, inspect everything. It's not where they try to find faults for a working system. But I go along with it. Right off the bat, he says "hvac does not have a water pan". I say what the heck? That's the first time I am hearing this, what is a HVAC WATER PAN? It's a pan that goes underneath the hvac. For water to collect. Cost is $2000 to do it. I have been to alot of properties, many new, many old. None had a hvac pan. Hvac systems do not leak water. When condensate does develop there is a drip leg that goes directly into the sump pump. Again I inform him, I just want the tune up, clean the coils, clean the fan, change the filter ect. He says "well you should know that you shouldn't expect alot for $29. If you call a hvac tech they will charge $120 just to come find what's wrong". I tell him again, well nothing is wrong with the system, I want a tune up, as in preventative maintenance . "We do not do that. We just look at the system and tell you what's wrong... Do you want me to leave". I say yes please. You have been here for 15 minutes and didn't do a single thing that would be done during a hvac tune up. I guess they are looking for the littlest things to scare people. They do not care about you. They just want your money. The company is set up to give you an entire sales pitch to replace your system. If you have a newer system, they will find even the smallest detail that is off and over charge you for that. I don't need a hvac pan. Take your hvac pan and shove it! read more

I scheduled 3 companies to come and provide estimates. Blue Dot was the first one, and after hearing the sales persons speech I mentioned I was price shopping to find the right products and price. He immediately seemed to grow agitated and annoyed that I would consider getting a second or third quote, and mentioned that if I'm looking for the cheapest option then Blue Dot wasn't the company for me. I explained I wasn't looking for the cheapest option, but simply exploring the many options available to me as a consumer. He became increasingly displeased when he realized I wasn't backing down from this. After the 3rd time of him saying "We're probably not the company for you", I happily agreed with him and sent that little prick on his way. His first glance priced (15k) was the same cost that I ended up accepting from one of the other polite and friendly sales representatives that I met with afterwards. I would have given them 1 star, but I bumped them up to 2 since they were on time for the appt that we scheduled. But that's where the positives end. We have a very good friend, who we've known for years, that is a certified HVAC tech. He would never rip us off or lie to us. Last year, he installed a new AC unit because ours stopped working (as did our water heater and sump pump, all in the same year. Thanks Ryan homes for building such a top-notch house! But that's another story for another day.) The AC worked beautifully all of last summer. Fast forward to this year. The air conditioner would run, but never stop running, and the house wasn't getting cold. This happened when our friend, the HVAC tech, was on vacation. As it was extremely hot and our friend registered the unit under warranty, I suggested that my boyfriend call Blue Dot to have them take a look at it. The tech came and gave us a list of "issues" with the unit: 1. It was never registered for the warranty 2. We had a leak somewhere in the unit 3. It was poorly installed because the person who installed it (aka our friend) used tape around some of the joints 4. There was no more cooling refrigerant And the cost to have him fix all this, you ask? At least $600 (that was just to find the supposed leak!) So we declined as something seemed very fishy. Our HVAC tech friend came back from vacation a week later. He came out to look at the unit. There was no leak, it was registered under warranty, there was cooling refrigerant, and the ONLY issue was a compressor that needed to be replaced. Which, again, was covered under warranty. So the part was free. In other words, Blue Dot tried to scam us. Be warned. read more

I really wish that I had read these reviews before dealing with this company. Everything that everyone said is basically what I went through. Poor customer service especially from supervisors and mangers they do not return calls at all. They were so in such a rush to get our business they measured us for the incorrect size unit, it took them from June to August to figure out that that was the issue. So the hottest summer and we had no ac. This is just a brief description of what we went through, I wish I could get a copy of all the times I called and the issues with what suppose to be a brand new unit. I still feel as though the unit is not cooling my house as it should. If no stars was an option, that would be my choice. This is one sad company. My adventure began with an appointment that was set for Wed 11/7. Not only did the person not show up or call to let me know they wouldn't be coming, but made no effort to contact me to reschedule. I don't know about you and your world but in mine my time is valuable. I took time off to be here for the appointment and wasted half a day. I called back to discuss this issue of a no show repair person and spoke with Michael Stroebel a manager at this fine organization. In our discussion I made it clear that this situation was unacceptable in that now I would need to take a second half day to have them come in for an estimate. He seemed to understand that my time has value. Another appt was set and at the closing of our discussion he indicated that he would call me back on Friday afternoon to discuss a discount for the time wasted and my inconvenience. The tech arrived on time, gave me the estimate and left. He tried to close the deal but I had been told by Michael to wait for his call. I waited......and waited.....and waited. For five days I waited. I called Michael back today and the discussion was not what I'd thought it would be, He began not by apologizing for not calling but telling me that since I didn't accept their bid that there was nothing to discuss. Did he really think I was going to accept this bid cold? Would you take a bid from the first contractor you spoke with. He then proceeded to tell me that he already discounted the price by not charging me the home fee of 119 dollars. Odd they didn't say I was going to be charged to begin with. To the owners of Blue Dot.....I'd take a close look at the customer service aspects of your business model. No shows, no follow-up on no-shows and a customer service manager who is an embarrassment to the term service. If nothing else, for the time I wasted on Blue Dot I learned a valuable lesson on where NOT to take my business in the future. read more

BUYER BEWARE! I scheduled a Tune Up and the technician came to my house and damaged my attic door hatch, left the dirty filter, and did not replace the installation on the attic door hatch. Ghetto, unprofessional, tacky, sneaky and a LIAR. He told his company that the door was damaged before and then tried to get me to sign a document in which he had wrote that. I told him, "Not today Satan". This 'technician' however did not know that I had taken pictures while he was there, that showed how he had used his ladder to damage the door. He even admitted that he had brought the wrong ladder for the job. I am sorry but if you jam a metal ladder through a drywall door to "open" the attic...... 10 times out of 10 the drywall is going to break. Smdh. I called management. 3 hours and 7 phone call after being pushed through a labyrinth of BS, I was able to talk to a supervisor. He was not helpful. He told me that they are not a contractor and could not replace the door or assist with it getting fixed, they only thing that they could do is waive my tune-up fee. So I had to be the person to go to Home Depot and fix the damage. SO THIS IS THE LESSON....... if they damage something at your house.....you are responsible for fixing it because they are not a contractor. I WILL never use their service again, it was my first and last time. Anyone that I know I will yell from the mountaintops DO NOT USE BLUE DOT SERVICES of MARYLAND. I explained to the women at Blue Dot thay my mother's drain that takes condensation from the house to the storm drain was backed up and needed to be snaked. I made it clear that it was plumbing issue more than an HVAC issue. So they proceed to send out an HVAC tech who promptly takes mom's check for $89 says welp that's a plumbing issue and we don't handle plumbing issues. Claims he is going to go out to the truck and call a plumber and promptly leaves. Then I get the run around from the office who finally say we can't fix and you can't have a refund because they did diagnose the problem. Basically ripped off my 78 year old mother. read more

On March 30, 2024 we arranged for Blue Dot services to install a new HVAC system. Tempertures were in the 30's at that time and it was Easter weekend. The Comfort Advisor suggested increasing the size of the gas furnace (almost doubled) for better efficiency of the system. After 9.5 hours of working on the system, the technician requested a second visit with his supervisor to try to get the system to work. After contacting Blue Dot again on April 1st to complete the setup, I was told the technician would return on April 3rd with his supervisor. Per Blue Dot's Customer Agreement if this system is fixed within 24 hrs, they will write you a check for $555 and place you in a hotel until the system is fixed. Blue Dot didn't honor this and offered me space heaters. On April 3rd the technician arrived with another person who I was told was his supervisor, Steve Barry. They worked on the system for 6 hrs and assured me the heat was fixed. Later on the thermostat continued to read temps in the 50's. I called Blue Dot the next day and was told by the Quality Assurance Manager (Tamika) to schedule a 3rd visit for a new system to be installed without an explanation of why a new system wasn't installed on yesterday. I requested to cancel the contract , schedule removal of their equipment and issue a refund. Tamika stated "sometimes it takes several attempts to get it right". I informed her that if it takes several attempts to properly install a NEW system then this is not a company I would like to work with. As of today, Blue Dot continues to avoid removing their equipment, refunding my money plus for $555 for poor service. They only care about making money. We purchased a brand new heat pump unit from this company three years ago and have had continuous issues with the unit, so we decided to pay for the $18 a month plan to have 24/7 service and additional checks on the unit biyearly. It is Christmas Eve with a young child (2) and they scheduled us from 12-4 to come out to check the unit as it stopped working for the third time. They called my husband after 4pm to inform us that they would not be coming out until Monday morning. We do not recommend as we are now scrambling to find places that are open to find space heaters. read more

I called them to tune my AC. They send people from ARS. They broke my system and charged $119.00. Asked $282.00 per pound of Freon gas which is $70.00/lb on the web. Send a person to quote to change the system. Who entered my home without a mask asked for a screwdriver and destroyed my system completely. The person was disrespectful. Their Home Depot Team may be different. Planning to submit a consumer report and many other places too. read more

Our heating system went down (steam) and we had 3-4 different HVAC folks give us estimates. The Blue Dot Services approach was unique and unlike any other, but in a horrible way. 1. Two estimators came to my house and played the good cop, bad cop routine. 2. They claimed there was asbestos in the pipes over the heating unit. As a pressure tactic (when I said we would decide in the next day) they said they would remove the asbestos right away, the two of them. I had to tell them to stop as they prepared to start the removal. 3. They used the phrase that the estimate was "based on next day start." Meaning that their estimate was good only if we signed up on the spot and they would get started the next day. 4. They stated that the job would take one day. All other companies stated three days. Likely a lie to seduce us to go with them. 5. Speaking of lies, the company we eventually hired said the material was fiberglass and not asbestos. The unit is 15 years old so it really never made sense it would be asbestos in the first place. 6. When I told them that I would have to speak with my wife and was not ready to commit, the main guy basically mocked me and said that "speaking with my wife is not an excuse." He repeated many times how he wanted to make a deal with me that day. 7. They started with a quote of 17 K but graciously knocked it down to 15. As I kept telling them I was not ready to commit, the price kept going down. Eventually, they texted me 12.9 K from the car outside of my house. All other companies came in at around 13 K. 8. They stated that they could give me 6 months zero interest. Only once I told them they would not get a commitment from me did they offer 12 months no interest. And one guy basically emphasized they would be losing money because "there's no such thing as zero interest." 9. The main guy mocked me when I said I would get back to them by stating, as he walked to his car, "how many times have we heard that?" 10. I got back to him the next day to decline their services and to inform him that we secured a price under theirs with 36 months zero interest rate from a competitor. All in all it was a horrible experience reminiscent of used car salesmen. They were extremely insistent on locking in a deal on the spot, would not take no for an answer (until I told them that "this is my final answer") and I can only imagine how unsettled we would have been had they been chosen or if I had not garnered enough patience to wait them out. This company is the worst, they are not reliable and wasted three whole days of my time. I initially made an appointment with this company on a Tuesday 2-6pm for a leak in my ceiling fan bathroom. Unfortunately, someone called out and my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. The next day my appointment was from 10-2 abs by 6 pm no one showed up and each time I called for an update they started I was the next person to be seen. By 630 pm I was told I had to reschedule my appointment, I gave them a third chance thinking that they couldn't disappoint me again and I was wrong. I was schedule from 8-12 pm and at 1115 when I called for an update I was told that I was next - I heard that way too many times with this company. By 230 pm I called and I was told that my appointment had been cancelled which they lied and said I called it -even though when I called at 1115 I was the next person . I gave up and hired another company. My advise is don't hire these people the call center is nice but what good does that due when you can't get a plumber out to fix your problem, if you want to waste days waiting for a Plummer contact blue dot they won't disappoint! read more

I called them because they offered emergency service ,they said they will be at my apartment between 8 P.m. and 12 AM it was an emergency so my tenant waited and they never showed up or called. I called them the next morning and they didn't have a reason why no one showed up, they sent someone out that morning at 8 AM he diagnosed a problem and scheduled to come back because it was a two person job. The day they were scheduled to come back I was told between 8 AM and 12 PM they never showed between that time never called to say they were running late. I called and didn't get a reason why they never showed up , well they did end up showing up approximately 230 that afternoon and they got the job done and was very courteous. I just wish they would have called to let me know they were running late or weren't able to find a technician to come out during the Emergency. read more

A week ago I went to my local Home Depot to do some shopping. I was approached by a sales representative about a 9 dollar deal to get my AC checked before the summer months by Blue Dot @https://www.facebook.com/BlueDotOfMaryland/ Today the technician came by and Low & Behold I need my blower motor replaced for $989.00. I could not believe it. It is quite an expense that I was not expecting to have. Luckily, the technician said he could take care of it "on-the-side" for $600 if I kept it between "us". Still a lot of money. I am fortunate to have a neighbor with his own HVAC company so I gave him a call for a second opinion. Thank goodness for kind and honest people in this world. Five minutes later he had my AC blower working again by RECONNECTING THE WIRE THAT WAS "DANGLING" INSIDE THE UNIT!! Made an appointment a week ago for today between the hours of 10am and 2pm. I was ok with that window, AS LONG AS THEY SHOWED UP IN THAT WINDOW...they didn't. With that being said, I called to see what the ETA was....they stated an hour. 3 hrs went by....no call or text or email. If your looking for a company to communicate with you, Blue Dot isn't it. I have a list of things to address. 1) I still have not received the $600 rebate from the AC system these guys put in last spring. 2) When that system was put in the techs didn't know how to disconnect it from the baseboard heat so they hit the emergency switch to our boiler and cut off all the hot water to house. They then left and said someone would be out over the next couple of days to get the system working. Really? Okay... 3) That night I realize we have no hot water. Call Blue Dot, their emergency tech comes out at 10pm from Pennsylvania to amend the situation. He fixed everything. AC worked. Hot water worked. Heat remained separate. 4) Call them to install new AC in the upstairs this time. Go through lots of companies, make a spreadsheet. But in the end, their financing and the fact that I felt really valued when the PA tech came out in the middle of the night, pushed me to use Blue Dot again. 5) The technician who installed the newest system said that the lines from the install on the May 2017 AC were not up to code. He asked me "who did that AC"? When I told him Blue Dot he said, "Man, I was hoping you wouldn't say that. I can't believe that passed inspection." He went ahead and took the extra time to finish that poorly done job from May. Very nice of him but disappointing that the work was not what we had payed for. 6) After the newest install of the upstairs AC, my Insulation guy came last week. He came down from the attic and showed me the attached picture. He said that the two duct tubes are an inch different in diameter so the tech from Blue Dot must have tried to mash them together and they clearly fell apart. So, my AC, once we would've run it in May/June, would've just cooled the attic. My insulation guy ran to Home Depot to buy the appropriate connector and finished Blue Dot's job correctly. (as an aside, my insulation/home energy guy warns clients away from using Blue Dot for these precise reasons. He says it's like a factory of inconsistent workers. It's the luck of the draw if you get a good tech or not. And the company is not reliable. so, I was warned) 7) I've called and emailed twice now and was promised someone would come out to check all the work because "this is not the quality of work that Blue Dot does" but...I'm still waiting for any solid date days later. I told them I'd give them a chance before I started pasting this up on all the review sites and our next door network. Seems they churn out enough profit to turn their heads to this. Boo. read more

Good company and very nice service technicians, but their sales people is what gives their company a bad reputation.

I have had an ongoing issue with Blue Dot. I have a maintenance plan--Pros. They came out and serviced but broke a controller on my humidifier. In addition they said I needed my outdoor AC coils cleaned and charged me $509. My issue is that I cannot get them to call me back. I have called them repeatedly. They are very polite--take down my information & issue and NEVER call me back. It's very frustrating and at this point I cannot recommend them to anyone. Very disappointing. read more

The air conditioner went out at my mother's home. Blue Dot said they would send a tech between 2-6. This is a new air conditioner installed by Blue Dot less than a year ago. The technician did not show up. Calling customer service to get information about whether the technician is still coming is impossible. The "support specialists" take your information, read from a script, tell you they will send the concern along and someone will call you. No one calls. When you call the "support specialists" back, they can't tell you if a technician is coming, they can't connect you to a supervisor, they cannot provide any actual information. The company has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Don't use them. read more

On March 10, 2024 Blue Do/ ARS replaced a faulty valve to a furnace that they recently installed in Fall of 2022. After the work was completed, I noticed a leak coming from one of the pipes around the water pressure gauge, as well as the water pressure to my home (currently 123 psi) being higher than recommended (80-85 psi). I have called repeatedly to have someone address the leak and water pressure problem. Unfortunately for every attempt that someone was scheduled to come out to my home, they either a) didn't show up, b) came out but didn't have the parts to fix the problem, or c) Blue Dot cancelled (multiple times) due to some family related emergency. This problem has gone on for over a month. I called their quality assurance department and left multiple messages but no return calls, not to mention that each call leads to 15-20 minute on hold time, only to be redirected to someone who can't do anything about the problem or wasn't very helpful. Today is April 19th 2024, five weeks since the initial work was done. At the time of the initial repair, Blue Dot even talked me into purchasing an "Exceptional Service" maintenance contract for $189, for which I now want a refund from Blue Dot. The worst part is that I'm afraid to have someone else work on this 15K Weil-Mclain boiler system as Bot Dot installed it - and going to someone else might lead to further unknown problems.
