Enjoyed an awesome sunset dinner cruise with Blue Dolphin, complete with several close-up whale sightings and a couple dolphins spotted as well. Captain Kai was competent, informative, and very funny, as was crewmember Vayden, and Collin's mai tais are not to be missed. The food onboard was delicious and included traditional Hawaiian pulled pork and teriyaki chicken. Scrumptious cookies and bubbly rounded out the evening. Some things to be aware of: This cruise is on a catamaran; some of our party were expecting a small cruise ship that would have been a smoother ride. Waves are bumpy, and the windier parts of the trip resembled a mild roller coaster--if that's not your thing or you know you can experience some motion sickness, please factor that into your decision to book a trip. That being said, one person in our party experienced some light motion sickness and was really well cared for by the crew. We really appreciated their kindness and support. If you have sturdy sea legs and an adventurous spirit, I'd highly recommend this excursion. The views of Kauai from the ocean are worth it alone, but the information from the captain and crew about the island and its culture are also super valuable. The whole experience also felt very safe; the cruise will not go to areas with high wind/surf, and on our trip the captain explained why he was turning out of the wind/waves when he made that decision.

This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Kauai! We had a group of five, and I truly can't say enough good things about Capt. Kealoha, Evan, Kawika, and Aina. From the second we got on the boat, they made everyone feel welcome and were so friendly, funny, and accommodating. They took the time to engage with everyone on board, which made the whole experience feel really personal. Capt. Kealoha did an incredible job sharing the history of the Nā Pali Coast, pointing out famous movie filming locations, and explaining the history of different landmarks along the way. It made the trip so much more than just a beautiful boat ride, it felt like we were getting a personal tour of one of the most stunning places in Hawaii. When it was time to snorkel, the crew made sure everyone felt comfortable and informed before getting in the water. They even jumped in with us, which made the experience even more fun and reassuring. The two kids in our group had an absolute blast and haven't stopped talking about it! The views were unreal, the crew made the entire day so much fun, and we left talking about how glad we were that we booked with Blue Dolphin Charters. If you're visiting Kauai and thinking about doing a Nā Pali Coast tour, this is the one. I would recommend them over and over again!

Our captain was amazing very helpful and informative. The crew was helpful and funny. The vibes were great. It was a sunset cruise even the captain was surprised to see dolphins. My kids had fun and it was the best experience they had in Kauai. We will definitely book a snorkel adventure for next time with the same company.

My husband and I did not have a great time, but not because the fault of the crew, but because we had really bad motion sickness! Along the way the ride was pretty smooth. Our captain, Kai, was giving all sorts of interesting facts about the island and coastline. My husband and I were good until we reached the Napali coast and the waves got too choppy for us. I guess we are especially prone to motion sickness even after taking Dramamine. The coast itself was beautiful. It was a nice clear day and we were able to see the ridges on the Napali coast. We were good long enough to take some pictures and then we got really sick. I think we made the mistake of sitting on the top of the boat rather than the bottom. We had booked the dinner cruise, but unfortunately were not able to keep anything down. We also missed the champagne toast. One crew member noticed how much we're struggling and made sure to keep a close eye on us. He offered us water and ice many times to help keep us hydrated. He even packed us a plate so we can take our dinner home. I think his name was Vayder. He was outstanding. We didn't have the best time, but a glass half full type of person. We saw the beautiful coastline and the crew was great (Kai, Vayder, and Collin). The Napali coast is not something you will see very often, so book the tour! Perhaps be a little more prepared for any motion sickness if are sensitive to it.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Blue Dolphin Charters! From the moment we stepped on board, the crew operated like a well-oiled machine. They were organized, professional, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. We traveled the morning of July 9th (for credit to our crew). We did the breakfast/lunch snorkel and Nāpali coast catamaran. What stood out most was how well they cared for everyone on the boat. They were constantly checking in to make sure guests were comfortable, helping people safely up and down the stairs, serving food and drinks, and making the entire experience feel like an all-inclusive resort on the water. Every crew member was kind, upbeat, and made you feel like they were truly happy you were there. Our captain was fantastic--he was fun, knowledgeable, and full of interesting information about the Nā Pali Coast. We never felt rushed, and they even stopped so everyone could take photos of the breathtaking scenery. We traveled with our 15-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter, and both had an amazing time. There were also several younger children on board, and the crew was wonderful with them as well. The boat was clean, spacious, and easy to move around, which made the trip comfortable for everyone. The food was delicious, and the entire day exceeded our expectations. As if the stunning coastline wasn't enough, we were lucky enough to see two different pods of dolphins swimming alongside the boat--an unforgettable experience! The biggest compliment I can give? The next morning my 10-year-old daughter asked if we could book another trip because she loved it that much. If you're considering a Nā Pali Coast tour, don't hesitate--book with Blue Dolphin Charters. It was worth every penny, and the views are truly once-in-a-lifetime.

Fantastic whale watching with an attentive, relaxed crew We did the 2-hour whale watching cruise with Blue Dolphin Charters, and it was excellent. We saw multiple breaches, tail slaps, fluke dives, and surface activity--the whales were active the entire time. The crew positioned the boat so well that we were able to stay in one great viewing spot and still see everything without moving around. The crew was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. Drinks and snacks were always taken care of--Mai Tais, coconut cookies, and snacks kept coming--and it genuinely felt effortless to just relax and enjoy the experience. The team was knowledgeable, calm, and respectful of the whales, offering helpful context without over-talking. The boat was comfortable, well run, and the two-hour length felt just right. If whale watching is on your list in Kauaʻi, Blue Dolphin is an easy recommendation

We did the sunset cruise and we loved it! We got to see the mountains and enjoyed a good meal as well. Drinks were complimentary. My wife and I seeked out adventure whenever we could find the chance- be careful, you will get soaked!!! We did not see any dolphins but did see plenty of good views!! Went on the sunset cruise with Captains Roy, Jayce, and Luke. Crew was excellent!! Food & drinks were yummy!! And they could have renamed the cruise a whale watching tour! That is really how many whales we saw I lost count after 8 or 10 sightings. Water was a bit choppy, so make sure you take some meds before you go and have some on hand just in case a few passengers look pretty green. I'm certain it will a highlight of our trip! Great job crew on excellent service!! read more

Our family had a great time on a Na Pali Coast boat tour with the incredible crew - Captain Chad, Whitney and Rob. If you are looking for a genuine sail on a catamaran, this may not be what you are looking for, BUT with that said, we had an outstanding voyage. Our group was inspired to sing and dance by Captain Chad. Even the most reluctant teenagers were moving their hips to the great tunes blasting from the speakers as we cruised back from the coast. We spotted multiple pods of dolphins and saw beautiful fish while snorkeling. Our safety and enjoyment was a top priority of the entire crew. Worth EVERY penny. read more

THE COMPLETE PACKAGE! My husband and two small children ages 4 and 2 came to Kauai for a Thanksgiving vacation. We were recommended Blue Dolphin Charters by our hotel concierge and booked a Deluxe Morning Napali Snorkel Tour for the whole family. The experience far exceeded my expectations and most of this was due to the kind and welcoming spirits of the crew on board. FOOD: Beforehand, reading lunch options of a turkey, ham or vegetarian wrap I was not expecting much. BUT the food was great quality and absolutely fresh. Coffee, freshly baked scones and fresh fruit for breakfast. The wraps for lunch were made with top quality ingredients, and so tasty, even the vegetarian option had a nice variety of veggies and tasty hummus spread. Fresh fruit, vegetables and soft baked cookies were served with the wraps for lunch. Cocktails, wines, bears, juice and water. We got to enjoy beautiful treats all while taking in the beautiful views of the Napali coast. SAFETY: First impression of the crew . . . all four crew members looked like they just stepped out of a hunky surf calendar. So I was thinking beauty over brains. To my surprise, they were all extremely knowledgeable of the waters, safety protocols when it comes to moving around the boat, snorkeling, etc. They were so incredibly attentive to everyone's safety on the boat, offering help anytime I moved around while the boat was moving, either on my own or with my small children. I saw a crew member quickly get a bag for someone suffering from sea sickness and checking on her. They were keeping close eyes on the those partaking in the snorkeling and gave a safety briefing beforehand. HOSPITALITY: Again, the four crew members (captain, safety officer Elias and 2 others) were so kind, hospitable, and attentive to everyone's needs. Always offering if any wanted help moving about the boat, offering water, drinks etc. They brought food, drinks to you if needed. So incredibly sweet. Their attitude and welcoming spirits truly made this an exceptional trip! ADVENTURE: Absolutely stunning views of the Napali Coast. The captain was very knowledgeable about the waters and history of Kauai and narrated the trip. He spoke a lot about different parts of the coast and his own personal adventures at sea. We did not partake in the snorkeling since we were inexperienced and had two small children. But we heard from others that there were really incredible views underwater at the spot we were taken to. We got to see a beautiful sea turtle, colorful fish and loads of dolphins from on the boat. INCREDIBLE TRIP, COMPLETE PACKAGE, WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

This was a great company to charter a boat to the Napali coast. The captain warned us that there may not be any snorkeling due to high surf but we took the chance. It worked out great and we saw some beautiful sights. The crew was very outgoing and made the voyage an absolute pleasure. The food was good (we did not do the dinner cruise). We took the sunset cruise a few days ago to the Na Pali coastline on a day where the winds were high but it was sunny and beautiful. Even with high winds the crew handled the choppy waters well, checking on the people constantly, delivering drinks and making sure we were all okay. Once we got to the coastline it was "smooth sailing" after that, enjoying the gorgeous coastline and looking for whales and eating Kalua pork, rice, Salad and fresh fruit as the sun went down. A definite highlight though I would like to go when it's less windy next time! read more

Had a nice trip over the Napali coast. We got seasick, unfortunately, but managed to see some nice sights anyways. Our favorite part of the trip was the way the crew treated us. Naya was a total sweetheart! She went above and beyond, learning our names, and taking extra care to ensure that we were okay. If you are at all prone to getting seasick, make sure to check the weather conditions with the office the morning that you go, though! read more

Great crew, great tour, great food! These guys were so much fun to spend the day with. They were very accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure everyone was having a good time and comfortable the whole 5 hour trip. The tour itself was great too. The captain gave good narration and they chose a great spot for us to snorkel. The snorkel gear was in pristine condition and they made sure to go over all the proper safety regulations the whole time. They obviously have tons of experience and it shows :) We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was too. All of the food was super fresh and above and beyond our expectations. We even had seconds which they were more than fine with. Also, after snorkeling they have an open bar offering mai tais, beer and wine(I think that was all the choices). There are a lot of catamaran tours to choose from. I don't know how this one compares to others in terms of the pricing, but whatever the case it is worth it. You definitely get your money's worth. read more

This was our 3rd trip to Kauai and our first boat tour and first time to snorkel. I was referred to Blue Dolphin from our resorts concierge. We arrived and were impressed with the office and efficiency of the check in process. Captain Joe was very funny, and my daughter and husband won t-shirts answering questions about Hawaii. The boat was a lovely, clean catamaran. Lots of seating and a very knowledgeable crew. After going through the rules of the boat, we were off. Captain Joe was very up to the minute on the weather. We stopped to snorkel first, as wind was projected to come in later in the morning. My son, 12, daughter, 15 and I had never snorkeled. We were shown what to do in detail and headed out. I felt totally safe, with 2 crew members in the water with us. We saw amazing fish, a sea turtle and just had a brilliant time. Back in the boat, we had breakfast rolls, juice and coffee/hot chocolate. We saw sea turtles, flying fish, 2 large pods of bottle nose dolphins and a baby whale! Wonderful trip. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to see the Na Pali coast and snorkel. read more

Hands down one of the best experiences we had! The staff is amazing, the boat was nice, large and clean, and the food was delicious. I've never experienced customer service like I did on the boat. They crew was so attentive it was just unbelievable. We had a great time in the water as well and saw a lot of fish. There were even dolphins that swam with us for a bit. We also spotted turtles. I couldn't recommend this tour more. If you're debating on which tour to go on, look no further. You won't be disappointed. read more

Capt. Danny & his crew were great as my family & I enjoyed the 4hr Sunset cruise. We even spotted some Spinnaker dolphins & a sea turtle during our adventure, which is kind of rare that late in the day. When I come back I'll definitely be back here for the scuba or snorkeling activities! read more

Y'all, don't walk, RUN to Blue Dolphin for your boating excursion and Na'Pali coastline tours while on this stunning and magical island. I had the same profound love for the experience this company/family gave me more than 20 years ago when I would spend time on Kauai with my fam, and now until this day, their vibes are STILL 100% aloha and 100% worth the cost and potential for feeling a little sea sick at some point along the ride this many years later. I remember the Capts and crew from Blue Dolphin being beyond stellar decades ago, fast forward to Nov 2023 and I can't say enough good things about Captains Nate and Evan, and their super hosts/crew members, Lia and JR. They will make you feel welcome and at home, demonstrate the utmost professionalism and best safety practices, all while letting you in on some of that special sauce island culture that only locals can know (as long as you keep it aloha with them of course) which is an added bonus every time. My wife and I, along with my 75-year old mom did the all-day Na Pali/ Niihau snorkel cruise. Capt. Joe, First Mate Sully, and the whole crew were awesome. The crew was super attentive, particularly to my mom. She had always dreamed of seeing Niihau, and they made that dream come true and more. Capt. Joe did a great job keeping us informed, steering us to great photo op spots, and setting a fun and friendly tone. Would book again in a heartbeat! read more

We just got a sunset dinner. I have to say that this was the BEST crew I have ever experienced. We had Stacey, Nicole and Nate!!! You need to find this crew if you book. They will make your experience something you will never forget!! We spent 4 hours with them and it felt like we knew them all forever. My husband and I have done many charter cruises in lots of places and I have to say Blue Dolphin Cruise was the best . The reason is the crew . Captain Joe , Elia, and JC took the time to get to know all of us by name and made sure we had everything we needed . The service was exceptional . You never needed anything . The crew made sure safety was first .They served us breakfast , snacks drinks, lunch and unlimited drinks after snorkeling. Capt Joe did a great job giving us information about the Napali coast and we were able to cross the channel due to a small swell that day . Captain Chad, big Mike, and Reno Stacy showed us a great time on the tour. Captain knows all the Hawaiian history and legends. Make sure the Owl in the cliffs gets pointed out to you. The after dinner karaoke is a great time. At sun set while everyone on the other boat tours are sitting their board we cruise by blasting music and dancing and having way more fun. This is a must do trip. read more

I booked this charter to go snorkeling on the Napali coast in Kauai. The title was "Deluxe Morning Na Pali Snorkel/Scuba Tour". The only reason I'm rating anything below 5 stars is because they did not let us get off the boat and into the water. The captain and crew were awesome and the trip itself was really great for what it was. We saw dolphins, whales and turtles. Lunch was great as well. My problem is they did not explain that we might not be able to get off the boat due to swell conditions until just before we were about to get on the boat. We had booked, checked in on the day, paid the money and just before we were about to get on the boat, the captain said there is a chance we might not be able to get off the boat. Having seen people snorkeling on the Na Pali coast the morning before via helicopter, I was hoping the captain's speech was just something he always has to say. I feel like I would appreciated more communication about the possibility of not getting to dive. It was really the only reason I booked the tour. For close to $300 for two people, I was really bummed to not be allowed in the water. read more

What a fantastic trip. The crew was top notch and had zero complaints about any moment during our trip. The captain dropped amazing knowledge and inside info for us. I can't Remember the captains name or the safety officer but I do remember Nia. But we did go on the morning tour of 8/27/21 to the Na'pali coast and those 3 all deserve a raise or a bonus. I went on the Rafting and snorkeling adventure. The raft was a bit intimidating at first look because all you see is a raft with rope around the edges and at the feet. It holds 12 people max, so it definitely was a little concerning. When the captain started talking to us I felt a lot more comfortable about everything that was about to happen. He explained it all and demonstrated and I felt at ease entering the raft. We went on a day (8/14) that Captain Cole, who was absolutely amazing by the way, said was the PERFECT day, which is rare. The water wad calm, the tides were low and we were able to go into all of the caves along the coast. This apparently is extremely rare. Cole did such a great job keeping us informed, giving us some history and really explaining some cool things about the island. Once we got to the place where we had lunch a snorkeled, I wasn't too impressed, but everything up to then was outstanding. I will say, my biggest down side was that the raft hitting the water when the crew member was driving. I understand that he has to have real life experience to get his captain licence, but maybe being more mindful or not for as long, and definitely learn to read the crowd. There were times where I was in a lot of arm pain from holding on for dear life. Tgere were kiddos on the raft that I was afraid were going to fly off, but as Captain Cole explained, if you have the feetbelt on, you'll be fine. He was so so so good at watching everyone. Hint! - It's waaaaaay less bumpy and scary in the back, so go there. I would definitely do it again, but definitely on the back. read more

My husband and I went on the sunset snorkel cruise on 8/30/19. We have been on similar cruises in the Caribbean and in North Carolina. There is a lot to mention about Blue Dolphin Charters in Kauai. Most impressive was the crew, Ruby & Zach. They were unbelievably friendly and attentive to each passenger. Captain Chad is committed to making sure his passenger's experience is unlike any other available in Kauai. From pointing out sea turtles, billy goats high on the cliffs, naked fisherman on the shore to skillfully navigating our massive catamaran right under a waterfall for incredible photo ops for passengers, Captain Chad exceeded any expectation we have ever had going on a catamaran cruise. To keep this review honest, the only negative I can think of was the food. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. My husband and I are not picky eaters. But, other than the pineapple, Cesar salad and rolls, the rest of our food was wasted. This wouldn't have any impact for our review because we didn't go on a sunset snorkeling cruise for the dining experience anyway. We were greeted by plenty of colorful, tropical fish to snorkel with. A sea turtle stayed around for a few minutes too. The day ended with a gorgeous sunset with plenty of photo opportunities for us to take our Kauai memories home with us. Captain Keith stopped for every pod of dolphins we encountered and allowed us ample time to admire them playing beside the boat. And OH the treats and snacks. When it was time to snorkel, we enjoyed a large selection of ice cold drinks, local fruit (pineapple, mango, dragon fruit and cantaloupe) and treats baked by Mrs. Milolii - the best pumpkin rolls and mango bread you've ever tasted. And they packaged up what we didn't finish and sent it home with us to enjoy for the next couple of days. Our trip with Blue Dolphin Charters was hands-down one of the best experiences we had on Kauai! From the moment we walked through the doors and on board, it was clear that this crew (Captain J-sea, Vayden, Collin, Pa'a) truly loves what they do -- and that passion shines through in every detail. We booked a sunset Napali Coast tour during our Kauai trip. Our crew for the evening were Captain Joe, Sully and Rob. Due to an earlier incident the day before where I got sick on a helicopter tour, I took Bonine for this trip, as recommended by the staff in the Blue Dolphin office. I also purchased some of the ginger candies available. We had a gorgeous evening for our cruise. Captain Joe managed to get really close to a waterfall coming off the cliffs so some people could get soaked (why you would want to was beyond me!). My husband and I spent as much time as we could right at the front of the boat, enjoying the ride. The tour was great! We did see a few whales, and Captain Joe slowed down/stopped the boat so we could watch them for a bit. His information about the island was interesting, although we couldn't hear all of it due to us being at the front of the boat. Our loss, not their fault. On the ride back, the ocean was quite a bit more choppy, and it was requested that we stay more in the back of the boat. Rob and Sully were great when people decided to get up, and helped everyone go up or down the stairs as needed. They kept us entertained. They also were willing to take numerous photos of everyone on board at different times during the cruise. We enjoyed the food, too. The worst part for me was when I needed to use the restroom in the bottom of the boat. Let's just say that I'm thankful I took some motion sickness pills and was on the upper decks for most of the cruise. **5 Stars Blue Dolphin Charters Exceeded Every Expectation** Captain Evan, Nicole (first mate), Bryan, and Cole made our Napali Coast trip absolutely incredible! Captain Evan's navigation skills were flawless. You could tell he really knows these waters. I spent time talking with him on the bridge and we exchanged great stories. He's a natural who knows the water incredibly well and is just very cool and capable. Nicole has special skills at proactively managing everything. She's one of those people who just stands out the moment you meet them. She knows exactly what to do before you even realize it needs doing. The entire crew was constantly checking on everyone, making sure we felt safe and taken care of. Bryan and Cole were giving 100% and were totally awesome too. With 50 people on board, I was amazed at how smoothly they all managed everything together. They're incredible communicators and really know how to read situations. Everyone did their job perfectly, and you could see they genuinely care about giving guests the best experience possible. The trip itself was magical. We saw waterfalls, dolphins, and sea turtles. The snorkeling was fantastic. They provided amazing lunch, snacks, drinks, and cookies throughout the day. The weather was perfect for us, but I could tell this crew would handle any conditions professionally. Their attention to safety never wavered while still making sure everyone had an amazing time. Kauai itself is a magnificent island, but Captain Chad and his crew (Matt and Peyton) really made this a unique and exquisite experience. Chad is native to the island and his knowledge reflects how much he loves Kauai and he really shares that love with the entire group. He was very interactive and has an amazing eye for wildlife. We were able to see a couple sea turtles, a couple mountain goats off the cliff, and were even able to see a pack of dolphins. He is also awesome at handling his boat, we were able to get close enough to stand under a waterfall and even take a picture near another. Once at the coast we had a nice dinner (caesar salad, pulled chicken, pork, pineapple, rice, bread, cookies) not to mention it was open bar the entire ride. There are also non alcoholic drinks for those who do not want (or cannot have) alcohol. Group size was about 30 people but there was a lot of room on the boat to move around and be comfortable (2 tier deck plus a cabin area). In terms of the restrooms, for a boat they were pretty clean and usable. And safety, they had enough life vests for everyone to grab two if they were ever needed. This is a must do for those who want to truly enjoy the Na Pali coast and I highly suggest requesting Chad by name if you book the Na Pali Sunset Dinner Cruise. PS. If you sit in the front, expect to get wet. read more

Captain and crew are always top notch! My husband and I go out with them all the time, and we're learning more and more and more about the island through their narratives. It really opens our eyes to all the hidden history and knowledge these guys have of this amazing island. The scuba instructors are always informative and keyed in on keeping us safe while making sure we enjoy ourselves underwater. The food is consistently fresh and there is enough variety to satisfy my vegetarian tastes between the fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls in the morning to the delectable potato salad and verge sandwiches for lunch (you get to make your own sandwich on the buffet). Even though we're starting to get a little tired of the same sandwich setup, for some reason we're always ravenous after our dives, so it is really great to have this food waiting! And the free alcohol :) These guys are great about making sure you have a cold beer or mai tai in hand! It's a rain or shine cruise, as we learned on our last adventure with blue dolphin. The rain made a lot of the waterfalls run along the na pali coast. One of the crew explained to us that since the water was diverted from the Alaka'i swamp, the waterfalls have stopped flowing. I did the Sunset Dinner Tour and it was the highlight of my trip to Kaua'i. You'll see a lot of people here giving 5 stars (myself included) and they are entirely accurate reviews. The Captain and crew were fun, smart, witty, knowledgeable and more than capable at navigating the tough waters. Captain Chad knows the ocean like the back of his hand, which made me feel very safe. His competence and skill allowed us to see and experience parts of the coast that most other companies avoid. The food was delicious. In contrast to the stellar reviews, I've read some of the negative ones. If you are considering Blue Dolphin Charters, you'll need to know these things before making a reservation in order to avoid any bad experiences: (1) from what I've been told, the water is even rough on the best and sunniest day along the Na Pali coast; (2) the weather on Kaua'i is unpredictable and moves fast; (3) Kaua'i, up in the mountains of Na Pali, is the wettest place on Earth, which means rain is a big probability; (4) this is NOT a fancy dinner cruise. Sea sickness is therefore a big probability, so is getting wet. I got a little sea sick and drenched to the bone, but you know what? I would do it all over again because those views are to die for. Joe, Danny and Lindsey were amazing hosts. We will always stick with this company when going to Kauai. My husband and I took our 5 1/2 year old son on the 2 hour Poipu whale watching sunset tour. All I can say is amazing! They keep their boat clean and clear. The crew were great with everyone, comical, extremely safe and accommodating. The moment you take off, they came around passing Mai Tais out and taking drink orders. The light snacks were quality and super tasty. We were surprised. The crew was amazing with our son and making sure he got a good seat and views. The experience with Blue Dolphin Charters definitely exceeded our expectations. Words cannot express what we saw, many whales and dolphins were out, but to experience it out and about leaves us simply speechless. Many of the tourists shared with us that they have been on many other tours and this was their best experience as well. Whatever this company is doing, please keep up the great job! Amazing Blue Dolphin Tour with the Best Crew - Ruby & Lily! We had the most unforgettable time on the Blue Dolphin tour along the breathtaking Nā Pali Coast in Hawaii! This was such a fun experience but definitely not for the faint of heart. Our crew of Luke and Kai were spectacular. They were super knowledgeable, made it a point to check on each of the different parties (we had a couple of people who had sea sickness) and they made it a point to try to make them as comfortable as possible. Yes the waves were pretty EXCITING (as in 5-6ft swells) heading out, but Luke navigated it safely and beautifully and honestly all the wind and water splashing around in your face makes it all the more fun! The coast itself is so gorgeous AND the wildlife is plentiful. Literally saw a pod of dolphins maybe less than 30 minutes in, but we also saw tons of turtles, eagle spotted rays, and fishes. The only thing I might improve but I also understand why it was done was the lunch. The package mentioned sandwiches but we received a wrap (probably for convenience) but we have some picky eaters in our group and a wrap meant it was much harder for them to pick out the stuff they didn't want. However the chips, drinks, and cookies made up for it. read more

This whale watching tour exceeded all expectations from start to finish. We were lucky enough to see multiple whales up close, and Captain Cole's knowledge made the experience even more incredible. He shared fascinating facts about whale behavior and clearly knew exactly where to go--his experience really showed and made us feel confident and safe the entire time. The food on board was a wonderful bonus. Everything was fresh, tasty, and thoughtfully prepared, which made the trip even more enjoyable while we waited for sightings and took in the views. I was also very impressed with the cleanliness of the boat. We did a Blue Dolphin Charter while visiting Kauai in 2025, and it was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip. Looking back a year later, we still talk about what an amazing day this was and how happy we are that we decided to do it. A huge thank you to Captain Evan and the crew -- Dereyn, Renee, and Chasen. They were fantastic from beginning to end. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure everyone on the boat was having a great time. The whole experience felt very well organized without ever feeling overly structured or touristy. The scenery along the coast was absolutely incredible. It's one of those excursions where the experience ends up being even better than you expected. There are a lot of things you can spend your time and money on while visiting Kauai, and Blue Dolphin was absolutely worth it. We went out with NaPali Coast Raft Adventures, Captain Noheli and Crew Jacob. It was the absolute best ride we've had to date! No-No and Jacob were knowledgeable, professional and entertaining. We learned much about the history of Kauai, the costal original peoples as well as wave and tide information. We got to see a rip tide and Noheli showed us what a rip tide is and looks like as well how to survive one. It was fascinating. The spinner dolphins surrounded us at one point, and Noheli told us about them being asleep in the morning. He shared that they always buddy up for sleep so their brains can shut down. Actually, it's only half their brains and it's the inside half of the buddy system. Really cool! We were completely impressed with Captain Noheli's ability to maneuver through the many obstacles of weather and waves. What an experience!! I think it would be hard to argue that any boat ride up the Napali coast is going to be more spectacular than the next. Same island, same breath taking views, same ocean... What was exceptional about this blue dolphin tour was the quality of the people captaining/hosting this charter. Captain Danny and his crew where the exception! First off, holy they are fun!! And not like that annoying; "make everyone scream" but rather genuinely charming and humorous. They were constantly offering to take photos, handing out snacks/drinks and sharing info about the area. Captain Danny even shared with me a great spot to check out the massive swell making its way in this weekend. But you'll have to go on the tour for insider scoop like that! Thank you Blue Dolphin, Captain Danny, Mike and Q for a great tour!! PS, We saw so many whales!! I couldn't get a good shot but there were tons. What an amazing crew! We went out with Captain Christian, Mike and Cole. They combined beautiful views of the Na Pali coast, fun and entertainment, and guest safety all into a wonderful afternoon of delight. We took the dinner cruise, leaving the harbor about 2:30 or so, and returned to see the beautiful sunset. The views of the Na Pali coast cannot be described! Captain Chris kept us informed throughout our trip, Mike and Cole visited each and everyone on board, making sure we were having a good time and feeling ok, especially as the seas were a little rough. (Consider taking Bonine or Dramamine before going out) The crew offers Ginger Ale and pretzels as soon as we left the docks to help settle stomachs. Dinner was good and drinks were plenty once we turned around. An impromtu sing-along to the tunes playing onboard was headed by Cole, on our way home. What an amazing day! The weather was iffy and the ocean was starting to experience the first winter swells of the season, but it didn't take away from the wonderful day that we both had celebrating our birthdays. Matt, Ryan, Johnny, and Capt. Christian were so fun, hospitable and informative throughout the whole trip, that it didn't really matter that the conditions weren't the greatest. Matt was so friendly and we loved that he went around and visited and spent time with every group on the boat....and not to mention, he makes a pretty mean Mai Tai! Ryan made sure that we were safe in the water (we only snorkeled) and would try to point out different wildlife in the murky conditions. Great group of guys and I hope to see them again soon! This is the best way to explore the Na Pali coast in Kauai! WOW! Four of us spent the morning on the deluxe snorkel cruise. We had a blast snorkeling and taking in the scenery and marine life. Cole (captain) was hilarious and provided fun and informational commentary on what we were seeing. He even made the rules fun. Quite the feat! Two of the four of us ended up getting seasick about halfway into it but Stacey and Luke (crew) were PHENOMENAL!! They took care of our friends with ice water, napkins, and tips on how to beat the seasickness. They kept us all comfortable and laughing no matter our nausea level. When we returned, we all agreed that if we could just turn the boat around and do the tour again right then and there, we would. It was the best way to end our time in Kauai! My family and I booked the Deluxe Napali Coast Tour and Snorkeling. We started out on time with a brief safety session by Captain Chris and his crew members Dane and Kai. Shoes are not allowed unless they are boat shoes, so there is space to put them. I would recommend bringing a swimsuit, towel, and underwater camera as food (continental breakfast and sandwiches) and drinks are thoroughly provided. The trip was about 4.5 hours, and if you are prone to motion sickness, take a Dramamine the night before and one or two pills 1-2 hours before the tour. The two crew-members were very helpful, and they took any photos you wanted! They were very knowledgeable about the island and Niihau (the native-only island). Captain Chris was a thorough speaker, so be prepared for a lot of jokes. This boat tour was definitely worth it; the Napali Coast is truly a must-see for Kauai!! read more

Blue dolphin canceled trip yesterday due to a windy weather system causing unsafe swells- no problem, they called early am. Rescheduled to today, drove out, checked in, signed release, paid, reparked where they told us, waited with crowd, THEN they announced would not go to Na'apali due to 19 ft swells. The waves are supposed to be 12 ft. tomorrow and doubted they'd be able to make the trip tomorrow (they knew full well they couldn't today as this is all a result of same system and is dying down). Bet they'll book passengers and repeat the deception again. Real low class outfit manipulating customers for profits. The tour they wanted to switch to was $40 less but they weren't reducing charge. We wanted refund but since online thru THEIR website needed "processing time". My wife had to ask for a receipt indicating cancellation. Wow. read more

We enjoyed the dinner cruise (no snorkeling) up the Na Pali coast from Port Angeles. The captain was excellent as was the crew. They give amazing service and are extremely friendly. Whatever you want or need they are there to assist you. Food was very good and cocktails are endless if you want to go that route. The narration is very good also. The crew and captain are very knowledgeable about the area. They give you a lot of local knowledge and history on the way. We saw spinner dolphins, waterfalls, and water caves. The sunset was spectacular but not guaranteed. If you get sea sick, they are very helpful and don't make it a big deal. I wouldn't recommend it for very young children. It is a long boat ride and it's all about the view and the narration. Wonderful trip! read more

What we didn't expect, getting MAJA island stories and information while the captain/DJ plays some great music and choreographed movie scores to go with the vibes. We met hundreds of SPINNA dolphins and during the one hour snorkel stop, we were escorted by a beautiful Honu across the reef. The wife and I talk about this trip all the time. And Chaz? Absolute legend. Kept the vibes light with some solid (and delightfully cheesy) jokes, plus he snapped a ton of pics so we could actually enjoy the moment without worrying about our phones. But the real highlights? Getting insanely close to the cliffs and feeling the sheer power of the ocean, then just floating out in the middle of nowhere, taking it all in. Oh, and did I mention we saw THREE whale breaches and a bunch of dolphins? Unreal. If you're on the fence, take this as your sign to book it. Zero regrets, just pure adventure.

We're a family of four (parents and two boys in late teens) who flew to Kauai from a visit in Maui for this dive experience specifically. We've done many of the other Hawaii dives (Molokini back wall, Lanai cathedral, Kona manta rays) and were hoping for something on the wilder side. Fathom Five delivered. The hard part is the "commute." It's a 2.5 hr boat ride (each way) from the pier in Poipu. The head on the boat wasn't working the day we visited, which was a scary prospect. But Fathom Five had the innovation of waterproof beanbags, which made the trips as relaxing and enjoyable as they could be. We thought Drake's attentive driving as we battled back into the afternoon trades helped a lot as well. Sean, our guide, was a true pro. He knew everything about the biology above and below water, the geology of the islands, and the history of Niihau. We dove Vertical Awareness first and immediately knew this was going to be special. We were met by an inquisitive sandbar shark as soon as we got to the bottom and soon saw our first (of probably a dozen) monk seals asleep and nestled into the wall. The visibility was essentially infinite. The layers of volcanic sediment result in crevices that are home to lobsters, eels, and nudibranchs. Bring a dive light. The second dive was the Ledges. The rubble from the collapsed wall of the crater is striking. I just remember thinking to myself while I was underwater, this is the best dive I've ever done. The final dive we did was the Arches. A little less visibility. A little less wildlife. But the swim-throughs might have made it the most memorable. Couldn't recommend this dive and these guys enough for a once in a lifetime experience.

We especially loved the winter paddle-only option--it was just right for me and my mom's needs and allowed us to fully enjoy the surroundings at a comfortable pace. This was a perfectly balanced, relaxing experience and one we truly appreciated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful and well-organized kayaking experience.

We thought we would get small beach chairs. Nope, we got nice lounge chairs! The umbrella was a must as it will rain on and off. Also, it provides nice shade. We were close to restrooms, shops, and Duke's restaurant. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We will book through them again.

Beach Boys catamaran sunset cruise…read more I arrived to the Nawiliwili Bay & Hulei'a River cruise boat slip to join the other passengers on a sunset cruise. This particular day, for whatever the reason, didn't have too many passengers. It made for a better cruise experience, in my opinion. After the normal safety briefing, we set off on the Kalapaki Kai II (smooth sailing gorgeous catamaran!) with the captain narrating the entire evening. While this was not a dinner cruise, we did enjoy a full service bar with light snacks during the evening. In my opinion, the cruise seemed uneventful and not very entertaining, but I am not necessarily interested in history, which is mainly what the captain spoke about during the cruise. He did a thorough job speaking about the Kauai scenery, fish ponds, mangrove trees, Haupu mountain range, Kalapaki Beach, the lighthouse, golf-course and Kauai's still-standing original hotel! We even watched numerous people surfing in the Nawiliwili Bay.... Can't say I'll see that anywhere else except Hawaii! The sunset was not anything to speak of the night of my cruise... but that is clearly out of our control! While I had a ho-hum evening... I will still highly recommend this sunset cruise! It was an incredibly smooth sail.... Short & sweet -- started at 5:30p and ended just as the sun set!

The boat was very clean and probably the nicest boat here in Lihue. Caught a huge 250lb marlin and what an experience. I will absolutely go out with them again when we come back. The guys are super friendly and easy to talk with. If you want to go fishing this is the place. Thanks for an adventure none of us will ever forget.

This one I'm going to have to file under one of the hardest things I've done in my life! But I'm so…read moreproud we accomplished this and did this! So many people talk about kayaking the Wailua River and hiking to Secret Falls. We didn't get a chance to do this on our last trip, but my youngest and I tackled this on this trip! Our guide, Ronda, arrived a couple minutes after our tour start time at 1pm. The morning guide said she'd be along "in island time." Once she got there, she took the time to tell us a little about herself, went around our group and had us each introduce ourselves and share a few words. She took the time to memorize all of our names! She also explained to us as all the other tours were heading out, that she liked to hang back and let everyone go do their thing so we can experience the falls privately as just our group. This girl knows what she's doing! It was about a two mile kayaking journey up the Wailua River with stops intermittently along the way for our "kayak kisses" so Ronda could tell us about the history and other aspects of the island. We were almost in our own little version of Survivor, thinking up ways we could survive out there and what we would need. It was honestly very cool. Once we got the end of the kayaking journey, we were given walking sticks for the moderate 1 mile hike to Secret Falls. There are a couple of areas where you have to cross through water, but nothing higher than the knees, at that time. The hike was beautiful! Ronda pointed out the Hawaiian Woodrose, kukui nuts, which we got to crack open and have a small sample, we washed our hands with awapuhi from the awapuhi plant, etc. it was such a cool adventure. We met the local songbird and dug to find worms for him to eat. He ate right from our hands! He actually landed on my hand and looked at me for a couple seconds! We saw cows on the journey home as well. Secret Falls is amazing. We had a blast swimming around there and resting from the journey. We met a lot of great people in our tour. It was like we all became a little family. We packed up and hiked back to our kayaks and headed back down the Wailua for the journey home. This time the wind was against us, so it was literally like paddling upstream both ways lol! This was such an amazing experience. I'm sure I'm leaving some things out because there was so much! I would say, if you're doing the 1pm tour, don't have any other plans the rest of the day. You don't want to be in a rush to get out of there. Our 5 hour tour ended up being close to 7 hours. It was nice because on the way back the motorized vessels were no longer on the river, so we didn't have to worry about other traffic. I'd also recommend having dinner for that night figured out ahead of time because most places locally close at 8pm. We were able to grab dinner from a spot about 10 minutes prior to their closing. They recommend tennis shoes or hiking boots, but my daughter and I used our water socks/reef shoes and while there were a couple times when we were bouldering I would have liked to have better shoes, ultimately it wasn't an issue. Ronda gives you an opportunity to unplug from the world, get yourself on island time, and take in all the beauty Kauai has to offer. Take it!

Wes met us at the river and went over very clear instructions and tips. It was great that they included wet bags to store your things. The river itself was beautiful, the waterfall 'hike' is generally very easy with a couple stream and river crossings that are slip hazards but overall not physically strenuous, and the waterfall is beautiful and the pool is swimmable. Plenty of time to check out both arms of the river. **WARNING - DO NOT park in the adjacent thrift store parking lot if the park parking is full. They slapped a huge sticker on our windshield and demanded $25 in payment when we got back to our car despite actually spending some time in the thrift shop and scheduling a donation time.
