I actually drove from Roseville to try this place out b/c I LOVE Italian & this place had such glowing reviews (the made-from-scratch pasta being a big draw also). Arrived on a Wednesday evening at just before 6pm & only waited about 10 mins for a spot to open up inside (they do have outdoor seating as well). Waitress quickly stopped by, dropped off some focaccia bread & asked what I'd like to drink. After that...I waited. Make sure you have plenty of time to kill by the way, b/c the service here is on the slower side. My wine finally arrived about 15 mins later & I was asked what I'd like to eat. Inquired about the pear + cheese ravioli & was told that it was on the "sweeter" side, but also that it was popular & I would actually be getting the last order of it for the night. Decided to go for it. Funny enough, the food came out way faster than my glass of wine did. Here is where the real problem began though. The ravioli was undercooked & difficult to chew. Not al dente. The filling itself was definitely on the sweeter side, but outside of that, it was bland. The brown butter sage sauce didn't add much to it at all & I ended up having to rely heavily on the salt/pepper that were already placed on the table. Overall, this wasn't something worth driving 45 mins for, but now I know for sure. At least the bread was good...lol.

Cold - great size cup and super tasty Food: great variety of pastries, we came late in the day so we didn't get as much of a selection so we didn't get anything. Service: fast and cordial Ambiance: this is the cutest coffee shop. I love the decorative touches with antiques. Old cans of coffee shop related items. Seating is awesome from tables and chairs to couches. Great selection of books and games. Outside there is more seating and a playhouse for little ones. We went in the winter but the sun came out so we can enjoy our coffee while or lil barista made us coffee. The restroom is so cute as well, think old farm house. Ada accommodations: slanted entry, door has two sides which can be fully opened. Wood floors with plenty of room. Lowered counter. Tables easy to access. The restroom is large.

I went not long ago and the lady who attended me was tapping her nails on the counter when I was looking trough the menu and apparently same lady did the same thing to my husband when he would go pick a coffee up for me, we did not take long to order btw. Also big red flag when coffee shops use torani syrup, if I wanted that junk I would go to big chain companies like Starbucks instead.

This meant the wait time was about 25-30 minutes. They call your order when it is ready which made it a little difficult to hear. Food and drink: The sandwiches are $13.99 alone or $17.99 combo. I opted for no side. I ordered the Baja Turkey which had turkey, provolone cheese, red onion and lettuce, aioli on ciabatta bread. It had tons of meat and the aioli was yummy. I also ordered a strawberry fizzie (soda) it was good but I'd want to explore the various other drink options next time. I had to use a fork to eat the meats & cheeses out of the sandwich, which tasted good. The sandwich was really messy because of the mustard though..so I didn't get to enjoy the bread at all. It ended up being a soggy mess.. The mac salad was basic, but had good flavor.

The prices were bargains, especially for the cookie tubs. I ended up buying a few, as I learned they're a Galt staple. I got some of the bite size chocolate chips. They weren't the chewy variety and a little sweeter than expected. Of the things I got, they were the most ok but not excellent. I still enjoyed. The snickerdoodles were really good. I'd definitely get those again. They were softer than the chocolate chip ones and not too sweet. They were great. I also got a tub of the sugar free chocolate macadamia cookies. They were good and I'd get them again. Sugar free sweets are tough to get things for, but they weren't bad like others I've had. Although with the variety of cookies available, I could get a whole new slate next time. Perhaps the stars were the things by the register. I got a big individually wrapped cookie. It was chocolate topped and chewy. I really enjoyed it. Up there, they also had pies, turnovers, and more. I'll definitely buy more of those next time I'm in, since those fresh ones look great. The loaves of bread took a lot of will power not to buy, but I won't resist next time. There were loaves of cinnamon swirl and apple pull apart bread that were begging to be eaten by me. I'll def be back to get more and try more.

Except for chain and fast food places off of Highway 99 there aren't a lot of worthwhile options for lunch. It's worth the short several blocks drive down A Street to get there. The place is large, full of character and clean. The restroom was updated and spotless. There's a nice outdoor patio with plenty of seating in a courtyard atmosphere. We chose a booth, indoors, and menus were brought right away, along with water. There are plenty of selections for lunch, including the usual burgers and sandwiches with some specialty items, for example Cajun Pasta. We shared a Bavarian pretzel for an appetizer with mustard dip. It was good but a bit on the greasy side. The mustard went well with it. For my lunch I ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries ($2 extra). The portions are huge! Definitely a good value for the quality of the sandwich, which had big chunks of chicken, bacon, avacado, lettuce, tomato, cheese and a tangy aioli sauce. Quite delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. I was very pleased, and full. Washing it down with an iced tea was perfect. Service was very personable and professional. We were well taken care of with iced tea refills and offers of extra ketchup, etc. When in the area or on a road trip throuth these parts I'd definitely be back.

After an additional 40 minutes, I went to the bar myself to get refills. Food finally came and it was delicious. However, it was apparent our table was not "assigned" to anyone. Every employee walked right by us, not even making eye contact. Beautiful, historical building. I only hope the service improves.
