The Hangout is located in a small strip mall off C Street in Galt. Upon entering there's plenty of seating and an Instagram picture wall. They were playing pop music. They take cash and tap to pay. There were a couple people ahead of me. Appears to only have one staff member who was nice, but was doing everything. Food, drinks, and taking orders. This meant the wait time was about 25-30 minutes. They call your order when it is ready which made it a little difficult to hear. Food and drink: The sandwiches are $13.99 alone or $17.99 combo. I opted for no side. I ordered the Baja Turkey which had turkey, provolone cheese, red onion and lettuce, aioli on ciabatta bread. It had tons of meat and the aioli was yummy. I also ordered a strawberry fizzie (soda) it was good but I'd want to explore the various other drink options next time. We ordered the meat sweats sandwich and Mac salad to share and picked up to go, and the sandwich was MASSIVE. It was filled with lots of meat, but also way too much mustard! I had to use a fork to eat the meats & cheeses out of the sandwich, which tasted good. The sandwich was really messy because of the mustard though..so I didn't get to enjoy the bread at all. 3.5 Stars--Boba honestly was pricey and not great, but it's nice there is a new "hangout" spot in downtown Lodi, particularly one of the only ones with boba; also serving decently large sandwiches and other bites Small cafe good for meeting up with 2-3 friends with comfy chairs particularly in Downtown Lodi where many spots close early unless it's Tequileros or Cold Stone. I came here after a Thurs night Farmers Market and it was nice to prolong my time out at night I got a regular sized taro milk tea with boba--the boba was like ?75 cents more so the drink ended up being $7. Now I'm from the Bay Area and used to paying $7 for premium boba (usually default large size), but honestly the quality of the boba was a bit soft, not sweetened enough. Taro was okay (I know it's usually powder so you can't mess up too bad at any boba spot...), just pretty small for the price. The sandwiches seem pretty large--cannot comment on taste since I didn't get one myself after eating through the Farmers Market hehe. Would maybe come back again if I wanted to meet up with friends in Downtown Lodi after dinner or to talk a bit. We saw online that this place offers Craffles, so we headed over to try some. When we arrived we were told they could not make that because they didn't "have the batter set up". It was 11:30 a.m. and they open at 7, so I'm not sure why that was. I'm also not sure why they just couldn't have set it up if that's what we wanted to order. Anyway, that was disappointing but we were still hungry, so we ordered an Oreo milk tea and a double decker club sandwich. After tax and a 3% "service fee", one tea and sandwich cost us almost $24. I do like that they have a little table and chairs outside in case you want to enjoy the weather of you have a dog; I opted to take our order home as there was no one else in the establishment. I also really liked how hefty the sandwich was and the fact that it was wrapped and labeled neatly. It tasted fine but the tea was not very good. It was like a toddler crumbled his cookie into his milk; the Oreo bits were hard and chunky and not blended at all. I'm conflicted because I want to give them 5 star review but I can't. Overall, it's a great spot for good vibes and good food. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the crowd gave off a fun, local, community feel. However, I have to be honest -- the bathroom situation was horrendous. I've seen cleaner restrooms at a truck stop, and that's saying something. For a place with such great food and atmosphere, it's disappointing that the restroom is in such bad shape. A little attention and regular cleaning would make a world of difference. I'd definitely come back for the food and people, but I really hope they step it up in the cleanliness department. read more

As an Elk Grovian I enjoy occasionally venturing a little south away from the Sac area to visit small-but-not-forgotten neighboring communities of Galt and Lodi. This spot has been on my radar for some time and I finally got around to checking it out! Plain milk tea: hard pass. Could barely taste the tea. The boba pearls, although nicely chewy, were waaaaay too sweet. It was like eating spoonfuls of straight raw brown sugar. Passion fruit tea: now this was a really good one! Refreshingly strong jasmine green tea taste balanced with the passion fruit flavoring. One of the better passion fruit tea drinks that I've had for sure. Spot isn't too far off of the 99 highway so if you need a drink pick-me-up while coasting on by in the area I strongly suggest getting a fruit tea here (be weary on the milk tea!) read more

I heard about this place through social media and decided to give it a try. I stopped in and ordered the brownie bite, Oreo, Chocolate sprinkles and sauce. I also ordered a cold brew beverage for my wife. My wife loved the cold brew. Me and my wife tried the crepe and we must say that it was a very delicious crepe. The crepe was cooked to perfection and the brownie, Oreo and chocolate sauce was the perfect combination to go with the crepe. Customer service was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. I was in the area with a friend and we wanted a yummy, fun drink and decided to try this place based on their reviews and pictures posted on Yelp and instagram. I ordered a strawberry green tea with some type of sweet cream top from the menu and it was so yummy. It also came with the cutest heart stopper you can see in the pic. I also ordered a s'mores coffee that I saw a picture of online and it was also very good! Also the cashier was so sweet, patient and helpful. She didn't make us feel rushed and she was awesome. I will definitely be back soon to try more drinks. My friends daughters ordered the fruity pebble and Nutella mini pancakes and those were also very good! The Hangout is located in a quieter plaza/area and there was plenty of parking at night. This city was pretty quiet for a Friday night with not much going on. There were not many places opened in this area at this time - this shop was the only spot opened and lit up in this plaza. I tried the jasmine milk tea with boba and pineapple green tea with boba. The milk tea was decent - it was a bit on the creamier side and the boba tasted a bit too chewy and soft. That place is horrible there's a young lady that works there around 3:30 to closing that hates her job she doesn't prepare the orders in order last time I was there it took me 20 minutes to get two drinks not to mention that but she has an attitude I mean it's her job she doesn't like it get another job. On top of that I watched how she prepared the drinks and it was literally less than 2 oz of syrup and the rest of it was Ice and about 1 oz of milk and then the Boba I don't know how people continue to go back pain $40 for three drinks you guys wake up unless you guys are millionaires living in Galt keep spending that money. The employees don't use gloves here. We ordered a matcha milk tea ($6-$7) and a crepe with strawberries, nutella, +0.50 cheesecake bites, +$2.50 ice cream which totaled out to $14.60 for the crepe. The employee cooking and physically preparing my crepe was not wearing any gloves and neither was the employee scooping out the tiny scoop of $2.50 ice cream which I only noticed now after viewing my photos so that's unsettling to me personally. Besides that, the actual crepe batter was very good. Lightly sweet, good texture and it wasn't overly thick/thin either. The house made cream could be a little sweeter as it is very plain but I think that's what they're going for since you get 1 dry topping and 1 sauce for free. The matcha milk tea was standard, not too sweet which we appreciated and the boba was decent, but for a tiny cup and an average tasting drink it is not worth $6-$7 that you could spend for a premium boba drink in the Bay Area. The place was very warm and welcoming I was the only one in there. They were a little busy with Doordash orders coming in. A young man took my order he was very polite and professional. I did order two Cookie Crumble Frapes with Boba. But the frappes were missing the boba. I am from Lodi so there was a very big hype of the place opening but I stopped by the galt location since I was in galt. I'm not quite sure on the hype. I randomly stumbled across this store and was glad I did! They have lots of food and drink options ranging from fruit teas to milk teas, and croffles to crepes. I was excited to see that they had lots of unique toppings like dragon fruit popping boba and matcha boba! I've personally rarely seen these especially at your typical chain boba shop. I opted for 4 different drink options and was strongly recommended their taro milk tea. It was delicious and I'd agree it's a must try! I tried their: strawberry milk tea with boba, mango fruit tea with dragon fruit popping boba, taro milk tea with boba, and passion fruit tea with boba. The drinks were a little sweet and had too subtle of a tea flavor for my liking but nevertheless, quite refreshing. I do think this is undeniably the best boba place for the city of Galt and it's worth a visit. I also ordered their oreo waffle and it was warm and tasted so fresh. I did not have any expectations, so I was just genuinely blown away. The inside is so cute with a photo op and lots of seating options! There is plenty of parking so no need to worry! This place is a perfect place for a quick snack/boba, hangout spot, or a study date. The workers were very nice! A friend told me there was a new spot in town for sandwiches and drinks so I decided to treat myself to it today. First of all, this is the BEST iced tuxedo I have ever had and I am serious when it comes to coffee and espresso. I love that they use Temple espresso..so good! I got a turkey sandwich with a pest aoli and its delicious! Thry bread is soft and airy and they use quality products. I just visited The Hangout for the first time today. Ordered a couple sandwiches and some macaroni salad. The macaroni salad wasn't quite ready so I got the potato salad. We were passing through Galt on our way to Sutter Creek and were looking for a quick bite. We stopped at the parking lot next to the Hangout, saw the sign and decided to give it a try. We were welcomed in very kindly by the staff and automatically noticed how clean and cute it was inside. Very family and kids friendly with great music. We told the employee, who I found out was the owner afterwards, that it was our first time and she gave us a sample of the taro boba. It was so delicious we decided to order one to share. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the strawberry crepe to share and it was absolutely delicious. We ended up talking with the owner afterwards who was so sweet I wish I caught her name. She opened the shop with her son during the pandemic, with a lot of hard work and dedication they succeeded. If I'm ever in Galt again, I will definitely be back. Give this place a shot!
