In 2018 Mr. Leonard was recommended to us by a neighbor two houses down and we're glad that he did. We needed to replace a worn liner that was about 8-10 years old and in fair shape. He was very patient, answering all our questions, and very honest about scheduling as it was at the beginning of swimming season. When he pulled the liner back, he uncovered another problem and again provided us with options on how to proceed. That was very much appreciated, even though it added a couple thousand dollars to the replacement cost. The liner installation was/is great. The reason we're just now writing the review in 2021 is that we made another rookie pool owner mistake this spring and drained our inground, vinyl lined pool too much. As a result, the liner started to separate from the walls which can be a very, very costly mistake. Out of desperation we called Mr. Leonard and he walked us through the steps we needed to take in order to try and remedy the situation. We initiated the steps he outlined, but our shop vacuum was not powerful enough to pull the liner back against the wall. We were very surprised when he showed up at our house and lent us one of his vacuums. Luckily our liner did not tear and we will be enjoying our pool within the next couple of weeks. When it's time to replace the liner, we will be called Blue Devil Pools again. These people are the greatest !!!! I wouldn't consider using another pool company !!!! Blue Devil Pools installed a liner in our pool many years ago. We can't say enough good things about this company and Ted Leonard, the owner. Unknown to us, we inherited a mess from a poorly installed pool when we originally bought our home and soon realized we needed a new liner and some minor structural repairs. We asked around (long before Yelp or comparable websites) and the company Blue Devil Pools kept coming up as being A+. We called Ted, he came out and took detailed measurements (which he still has on record). He spent all the time we needed answering ALL our questions, he gave us options toward the repairs, etc. and some "good ol' professional and personal advice. We have had to patch a few places (due to the kids) which Ted has taken care of for us.... most have been within hours of calling him..... great service ! Many years have passed, UV light and chlorine is starting to take its toll and now its time to consider replacing the liner again. I wouldn't consider using another pool company !!!! I had contacted Ted earlier in the year (see previous review) when our liner had floated off the coping. He responded quickly to assess the situation & provided a temporary fix until the weather got warmer so we could replace our liner. When I contacted him again about replacing the liner he provided several samples to chose from. Ted ordered our liner & once it arrived he began the install. After removing our old liner he fixed several areas in the pool wall that needed patching. Upon completion he put the new liner in & filled the pool. I can't say enough about how professional & quick Ted was at replacing our old liner. He got the job done in under two days!! He even cleaned our pool steps & spa to almost brand new condition. He answered all our questions & was always on time. Hopefully we won't need a new liner for years to come but if we do Ted is the one we'll call! Thanks Ted! Update: After Ted installed our pool liner we had an issue with our irrigation system. A broken pipe allowed for the water to seep under our liner & float the liner. The work and professionalism by Ted of Blue Devil Pools is excellent. After having a liner installed in my pool several years ago and having nothing but problems I was very hesitant on who to hire. Ted is very easy to reach by phone and is very willing to share his extensive knowledge of pools. Although his quote was a few hundred dollars higher than all the other quotes for the exact same job we decided to go with him due to his responsiveness by phone, him being upfront with everything and not trying to sell us additional things. He showed up immediately to measure my pool wherein he spent a couple of hours to get exact measurements. We then chose the liner pattern and a couple of weeks later he installed it. Through all this time we did not pay a penny to him. He does not accept payment until the job is done. Since our pool had a leak we chose to empty it prior to the install. The day of the install Ted arrived about 7:30 alone and was completed with the install before 3. The liner looks amazing. The fit is even better than when we had the pool built. There is no other company for pool liner replacement in our opinion. If someone conferred a Ph.D. in pool knowledge, Mr. Ted Leonard certainly has earned one. He is prompt and thorough in answering questions. I don't think anyone knows more about the details of maintaining and operating a pool than Mr. Leonard and he is very generous with his time and knowledge. This is the second time he replaced the liner in our pool (first time for us and once for the previous owner of this home and that liner lasted a LONG time). Don't be shocked that he works alone. I could not imagine someone being able to replace a liner in a huge pool by themselves, but he works very quickly and efficiently. We are beyond pleased with the quality of his work and how beautiful our pool looks. He also recommended a company to repair our stairs and paint the coping and our pool looks brand new now. We were totally impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism displayed by Ted with Blue Devil Pools. It's very refreshing to see someone take pride in their work and you just can't get this from a larger company sending random "technicians" to your home . When the new liner was installed, Mr. Ted requested that I text him at 8:00pm that evening to let him know where the water level was at so he could come back and remove his blower behind the liner....even if that meant he had to come out at 2:00am the next morning. We called Ted to replace our 10 year old liner after another company was unable to help us due to the complexity of the shape; what a lucky break! I called Ted after we recently purchased a home with older concrete pool. He was extremely thorough and asked many detailed questions. He told me he would not recommend his services since converting a concrete pool to a lined pool is too costly. Ted is the best there is. He replaced our pool liner and fixtures and we now have a beautiful pool with no creases or folds (as with our old liner). He also mixed and troweled vermilion/cement base to repair damaged and rough areas we had which bugged me so much when we had the pool originally installed by others.
