Sorry to say, but we purchased a home with a pool this past winter and was late in the game to find a pool maintenance company. Blue Crew pools responded indicating they could help us out with weekly maintenance, and we were so relieved, initially. After several weeks trying to get them to schedule an initial treatment, while our pool turned green, to dark green, to yuck, I finally got a call from the company indicating they would no longer service pools where homeowners did not reside full-time. Of course, we have visited or stayed every week at our new home, with at most, a 10 day span of not being there, they indicated, last minute, that they no longer ser ice pools where owners aren't there full time. This doesn't make sense. People use pool services for times they are away on vacation, or may be away for certain periods of time. I wouldn't have cared if they let me know, up front, about this. But they turned me down after weeks of their saying they would let me know and trying to get them to service our pool after initial opening. What an ordeal. WQe were thankful we found another pool service to come do weekly maintenance, and by the time they could come after the runaround by Blue Crew, our pool was a swamp. It came back, thank goodness. Not a nice "welcome to the neighborhood".
Here is the email we received after trying to get them to service our pool......I guess nobody can go on vacation or ever NOT be around when they service your pool, due to liability.
Cynthia,
After Mark and I dealt with a few very upsetting issues last week, we have decided we cannot take on your pool as an all-inclusive. So that I am not giving you a vague answer, we have a few customers who do not live at the property full time and those pools have turned into costly, problem pools. After you told me the skimmer door was stuck and that's what was causing low/no water flow, it concerned me.
If something happens like that after we clean your pool one week, and no one is there to catch and/or correct it, when we show up the next week the pool could potentially be a swamp. Then we struggle for days (which we have to come back free of charge for) to get it clear again.
This is happening now with customers and no matter how hard we try to explain what is causing it, the customer ultimately blames us. I just had to refund someone over 3k because they blame us for the pool not being clear; when in fact, it was an issue with their pump timer that no one knew about for a couple weeks. Now I am sure she will write a bad review on us and tell everyone her version of the story.
So.....the best way for us to keep this from happening and stop potential bad reviews, we now require you to be living there full time or have a property manager on site daily.
I am sorry to tell you this, after I told you we could do it, but we have to do it this way.
