Our camper we purchased from Blue compass Albany
    Shane R.

The whole staff made our purchase of our fifth wheel seamless. Excellent customer service. It is 2024 and living amongst the society who feels entitlement. If they don't get their way, the first thing they do is go to social media to write negative reviews. I am writing a positive review as my experience and purchase of my camper was just amazing with blue compass.from the very first phone call, I made to us pulling out of the parking lot with our camper. Excellent experience and highly recommend.

To start off, the purchasing process with blue compass is convenient. Some negotiation with price, paperwork, and congratulations are in order through the process. They then set you up for a demo date of your unit where they will walk you through your camper and then you can take the unit home. Everything up to this point goes smooth and quick. From there, as soon as you leave their lot, do not expect anything but rude service support and ignored contact to your salesperson. We left with our unit to get it home and find out that the auto level system and jacks did not work. With contacting blue compass we were told we had to go through RV Complete Roadside (a package we paid extra for to add on for our protection while traveling) to diagnose the issue even though it was the dealerships responsibility to resolve the issue because we had not yet even used the unit. Furthermore instead of sending out a technician to fix the issues, they demanded that the camper was to be brought back to them on our dime for them to even consider fixing it. Through multiple calls, the people in the service department were rude and defensive as if we had caused the issues. With that being somewhat of a dead end I tried contacting our salesperson to see if the issue could be resolved with the help of him. Phone calls and text messages were ignored as if they were just happy with the unit being off of their lot and that they didn't care about the customer and the issues. After getting the camper home and finding out that the jacking system did not work I decided to look a little farther into the "preparation" of it that we had paid for in the purchase. We were told the propane tanks would be filled (which they were), the roof would be re-caulked, and the battery for the 12v system would be replaced. The caulk work they did on the top of a very expensive unit is a disgrace to say the least. There was no care in the world to actually seal the roof and make it look decent. Also the battery that was replaced is completely dead without any use and it will not hold a charge. The 12 volt master switch has been off since we got home. With that being said, we will now have to actually re-seal the roof, replace the dead battery (which is supposed to be 2 batteries for a fifth wheel camper), and also replace the hydraulic and electrical components for the jack system to even have a functional camper. This will add thousands of dollars to our purchase for the work to be done properly and in working order. The service department does sub par work and the management has no care for customer support after a unit is sold and out of their lot. In the purchase process we added roadside assistance, rv gps, and full insurance to cover any damaged or malfunctioning appliances or accessories on the camper. No one even showed us how to use or access any of this information. We do not recommend purchasing a camper from this location and we do not recommend anyone to bring a camper there for service. We will never purchase something from Blue Compass again. Buyer beware.

Our story......We found the New Newmar Kountry Star we wanted online but it was located over 1300 miles away in Latham NY at Blue Compaass RV. We called to inquire and met Jon Razai in sales. Jon immediatly answered all our questions, conducted a video walk through, and offered to pick me up at the airport the following week. I took him up on the offer and we sealed the deal, (contingent on me seeing it in person). Jon was fully transparent throughout the process, helped us work through a few small challenges, and delivered as promised. The team I met there in finance, maintainance, title Mgmt, and sales, all did a very nice job walking with us through the process. Today, only a few days after arriving home with the new rig, I got a call from the parts manager about mailing me a small component I had ask to be replaced - as promised. They have been as supportive after the sale as they were prior- Something we all appreciate., Well done to you all. We love our new Kountry Star!

Once again burned by this place. Dropped my New Jayco redhawk off to get a 2nd battery installed handing the keys to Robin the service advisor she then said we will get that battery changed out for you, I then had to inform her no, ime getting a 2nd battery installed ( zero attention to detail) after leaving with my rv getting home . I now noticed a big wiring harness hanging under the rv wtf I just left. Drive back there to have Robin and the service manager say the wires aren't close to the battery compartment, our service team did nothing wrong. Please please please buy your RV somewere else

I called Alpin Haus and Randy Robb the assistant service manager (didn't know this until much later) was on the other end of the line. After explaining the situation I asked if there was any way we could get in and have it looked at. Incredibly he said sure, bring it in and if you're dry camping you can even stay in our lot. The inverter did in fact short out and we were without AC but had DC. Chris the expert electronic wizard diagnosed the issue and we were stuck for the weekend in upstate NY. We enjoyed our weekend (minus AC current) but with DC current we were able to keep the food cold, the fan running, interior coach lights working and we had a great trip to the Adirondacks. On Monday we returned to Alpin Haus and Chris was out, my greatest fear since we had developed a sincere trust with him and when Randy said that he had the other wizard on it, Big Frank stepped in. Seamless doesn't come close to how good this team of mechanics are at AH. The big man got us dialed in and we hit the road that evening with the van back to work. These people are the real deal. In the era of Big Box everything, it takes a dealer that cares and treats everyone like family to show that there is still the chance that the end is not in sight for a local dealer with great staff, great inventory and people and dog friendly to help a traveler find their way down the road. My sincere gratitude to Randy, Chris and Frank and the entire staff and team at Alpin Haus for helping us get through this difficult situation. Y'all are the best.

We weren't able to find what we were looking for (our needs were very specific for a large family and they didn't have what we needed on their lot at the time - not their fault at all). We were impressed by the family business feel and friendliness so we kept them on our radar for future repairs of our RV, which we eventually purchased from a private seller. After a tree fell on our RV we called Bob's about an insuranceestimate and repair....and we called again....and we called again. Each time we were told someone named Mark would call us back, but they never did. How can you trust them for a good quality repair when they can't even call you back. It shows either arrogance or ineptitude. Either one should result in a short lifespan for their so-called business.

The third time we went (yes, we are those kind of people) and the fourth time Bob himself answered more questions. Bob is a walking encyclopedia of RV knowledge. In the end, we bought an R-pod 179. My husband went out to pick it up and the two techs there walked him through everything. They answered all of his questions, gave him advice and were incredibly informative. The staff at Exit 1 RV were never pushy, and unlike every other place I contacted, they NEVER hounded me with phone calls, emails, texts, etc. Not once. Months after purchasing my camper, I continue to receive spam calls from big chain outfits I originally looked into (but didn't buy from), wooed by their flashy online prices. I'm a teacher, so please learn this from me: 1-The great prices that chain stores offer online exclude pretty much...EVERYTHING. Exit 1 RV includes it ALL. Believe them. 2-THINK about where you will get your camper serviced. They all need service, just like your car. If you get a GREAT chain store deal (see #1, it isn't so great), or FB marketplace deal, where will you get it serviced? Think ahead. Exit 1 provides great local service. 3-The personal touch. When we picked up our camper, my husband and I stopped for coffee first. We spent hours, led by Exit 1 staff, leisurely going through our camper and asking EVERY question, flicking EVERY switch, moving EVERY hose, learning by doing. Do you think that happens when you buy a discount "clearance" camper online? No. We weren't rushed at all. We were encouraged to keep asking! This morning, 2 days after bringing the camper home, I opened my mailbox to find a hand written thank you note from Kelly, who guided us through the sales process. What more can I say, except, stop looking for the lowest number online, and head to Exit 1, where you CAN get a great deal, and you'll have a great experience as well.
