They have 5 stores, I bought in Tampa
DO NOT BUY A USED RV FROM TAMPA RV, OR RV ONE, which also owns Albany RV, Orlando RV, Buffalo RV, Des Moines RV
This will most likely be a long reply to my above sentence, so if you get bored just remember to read my first sentence and you will have no issues.
So Matt Strollo is the store manage at Tampa, who's family started RV one. Matt likes to tell the story, how you should trust him because his father was retired from law enforcement, he who grew up with his dad selling rv in the basement to make extra cash for the family. Who won't love that story, I am FF which does that same thing, but I don't sell RVs. I can completely relate. So I had a sense of trust. But, let me say I have no trust for Tampa RV.
We live in Tacoma Wa. area and have owned a few RVs over the years, slowly moving up in size. We made contact with a salesman from Tamap rv and said we are looking for a newer Seneca. I have no issues with the drive across the county if the price is rite. A few months later the sales person called and said they had a 2009 Seneca coming in as trade, the price seemed good.
So I packed the family up and we flew to Orlando. We made it very very clear that we needed to leave Dover by January 9th. I was told no problem and that someone would also be picking us up in Orlando. On the morning of the 9th the sales person said sorry but no one could pick us up they had a Big RV show and everyone was getting ready for the show. This should have been my first clue. We hired a driver to take us to dover, out of our own pocket. I was ready to fly back after that BS, but happy wife happy life. Wife wanted a Seneca.
To make it very simple the RV was not ready. I don't even know how to describe it. The salesman was the worst every. Once we started to walk Matt got involved. Here is a list of thing I was promised that never did happen, all new battery, all new fluids ( I did get a check later in the mail for a oil change). The sales person even sent us photos, but after clearly looking at them it was from a different RV, almost a bate and switch. Body had some damage, was told the RV was in perfect shape they chalked it up to the driver who drove it down from NY, clearing throwing him under the bus! ( they did take a few buck off for it).
So Matt began to negotiate the deal we came to a price a little lower and everything would be working before we left. Well this was now 8pm on a Friday night and we had wanted to start our 3300 mile road trip home. I was promised by Matt, that in the morning his team would get it done. So on our dime we had to stay the nigh in Tampa. Matt did give us a car to use and bought our dinner, but we had to pay for the hotel stay.
Next day round two. bright and early. Still no one, its Saturday, I just started doing some basic stuff. I had a few guys help out for a hr or two but that was it. Not all systems were working but we had to leave. The guy who did help us for a few hrs was taking notes on the items that needed to be replaced. Matt said if you have any issues don't worry we will make sure to get it fixed, when you get home. So we left, mistake number one always get in writing or copy of what needed to be done and never trust a manager at a used RV lot who says we will give you 30 days warranty.
Guess what folks that list was lost. 9 days later when we arrived home my wife called the parts guy and confirmed the parts that needed to be replaced, plus a few other issues that we had with the coach. He said he confirmed it with Matt and they had all been ordered and would take a few weeks. A few weeks goes by and same bullshit story, Its now been over 30 days. She gets sent to someone else they said they had been ordered. Come to find out the parts guy was fired, for some reason. So my wife calls Matt and was told sorry it been well over 30 days. I am only going to replace the broken table. We had a broken kitchen faucet, broken door, the grey/back and water tank lights say 3/4 full then empty, water heater never worked, and jacks stopped working two days on our dive home was told its a panel. A few other miner things. It took over 4 months to get our broken table replaced.
Tampa RV sales team and management are liars, do not trust them. Matt still has not returned my call, granted I was a little upset. I have all the rite to be. I spent over 70k cash on a RV and was promised that I would be taken care of. I can honestly say I was taken.
