I really like the fact that they do the complete groom in 2 hours and do not let our furry friends sit in a kennel or on a table drying that is especially hard for one of my two dogs that is high energy and anxious. I have a DIFFICULT dog to groom and have taken him many places. This is the first time in FOREVER that he was completely groomed-including his rearend, nails and-MOST IMPORTANT-was happy and proud when he came home! Review for DIY Dog Wash ONLY. It looks like this facility operates as a doggy day care center, pet shop, boarding, and professional grooming. I've been to several DIY dog washes prior to this one. Blue Collar has all the basics of a DIY dog wash: Big tub, easy shower handle, towels, shampoo, conditioner, professional blow dryer. One added bonus here is that a nail clipping by their workers is included. There are a couple of things lacking here compared to some places I've been to: ear cleaners, selection of shampoo and conditioners, and brush selection is limited. One thing I was really dissapointed by was their shampoo and conditioner. It is extremely watered down, I had to use two bottles of their watered down shampoo to create a little bit of soapy suds on my 45 pound doggy. The conditioner? I felt like I was pouring water on him... Did not feel like it was conditioning at all. The shampoo wasn't really scented... I guess that is good for allergies or some people, but I like it when my dog smells good and clean. It also would've been nice if they provided ear cleaner, most places provide them so it was a little weird for me to walk out of a dog wash without cleaning my dog's ears. read more

This place is fantastic. I brought my golden doodle in to be groomed and was very happy with the result. My dog had a lot of matting and I was worried about how that would turn out. When they brought out my dog he looked great! So healthy and clean! The matting was not a problem and my dog was in a great mood. I highly recommend this business. read more

I normally dont write many reviews, but when you give customer service the way BCD does I feel compelled to write one. Our choclate lab is one a half, high energy, extremely loving but also extrememly hard to tucker out. Her first day at BCD it was obvious she was able to play and have fun all day because she put herself to bed the moment we got home, adn a tired puppy is a happy puppy. Every day we pull in to the parking lot she is wiggling with excitement and is so happy to see the employees there. Laila is the closest thing we have to a child, so we wouldnt expect anything less than the best for our 'fur-baby'. BCD is the best and I feel absolutely at ease taking Laila here, I know she is well cared for is probably having the time of her life in the large out door facility they have. When I pick Laila up the staff are couteous and keep me up to date with what she did that day or who she played with. I love knowing that they care about her and value her the way we do. We are new to the BCD family but will definitely be here to stay! read more

I went to Blue Collar for a wash for my 3 yr old border collie recently and was reasonably satisfied with the results. The front lobby was a bit stretched for personnel and could use some intermittent help, but was attentive and cheerful. The blower doesn't provide warm settings, like some competitors, and requries some added towelling, but that's no demerit. For the price given and the accessiblity, if you live in Edmonds, it wasn't bad at all. I think a repeat trip will be necessary to get a better evaluation in warmer weather. But it works, for all ages, human, canine and otherwise! read more

My husband and I just picked up Milo, our Australian Cattle Dog from being groomed here for the second time. We are extremely happy with their customer service, and how they treat Milo. I love the fact that they explain everything and even show us a video of Milo being groomed. Love the self service bath they have here at blue collar dog house. Great place to stop by to clean your dog after a messy run at the marina dog park near by. Unlimited supplies of shampoo, conditioner and grooming tools. Self service includes nail clip and ear cleaning. I love that I don't have to spend the extra time cleaning our bathroom when I use blue collar dog's self service bath! My parents bring their doodle once in a while to their daycare service and he comes home tired and happy. Very positive environment for all the dogs who stop by here. I've been eagerly waiting to bring our pup here and finally got to! She's a very energetic one year old lab. This place is AMAZING! The staff are super friendly and helpful, affordable prices and a great environment for the dogs. I can't believe how happy and tired she is even after just half a day. I am writing this review because I rely heavily on reviews when selecting a company to do business with, and wish someone else had shared the information that I have now in a review. I was really excited when I found this place because the owner was really nice and it is close to my new home, but it obviously did not work out for our dogs to go there. Our dogs are trained for hunting and are well behaved for our family (even my 67 year old mother has no problems with handling them). In fact one of the dogs I travel with and since he heels and obeys commands most people assume he is a service animal. However if our dogs sense that their current handler is submissive then they will act out like toddlers. Some feel that dogs who need a strong leader will do this to see how far they can go before some form of a pack leader will step in. When we have witnessed this behavior, we have applied corrections and the behavior ends. I would have commented or explained how to handle the behavior when the owner mentioned it on my last visit, except every time I tried to speak she'd continue her on-going monologue regarding my dog's bad behavior. Also this was done in front of another client which is inappropriate. So from now on when I need daycare services I will be driving 30mins to take my dogs to the daycare by my old house. The employees there are trained to be "pack leaders," and our dogs have yet to exhibit, according to them, the bad behavior that they exhibited at the Blue Collar Dog House. So the Blue Collar Dog House is not a bad doggy daycare but it is obviously a better fit for super submissive dogs, older dogs, & little dogs. Also not a good fit if you have multiple dogs as you will have to buy a separate package for each dog which can become excessively expensive. So if your dog(s) need a "pack leader" or you have multiple dogs, then I recommend that you save yourself time and paperwork by going elsewhere. read more

This place is as perfect as it gets! My cocker spent the day being as social as he's been in years, and came home happy and tired. The staff is caring, loving and provided me with their bathing facilities to clean him up. They offered as much shampoo, conditioner, towels, ear cleaning tools, brushes, combs and treats as we needed. Any one who leaves here unhappy, clearly has a personal problem. LOVE IT!! Shadow my husky had her first full day of puppy daycare last week and I could not be any happier. The staff is incredibly nice especially the owner! Love bring my Dogs here the staff is super friendly. My one dog loves getting baths but my other doesn't and at home it's super hard to give them both baths and dry them in the bathroom. I have been to this salon twice. Each time the pricing has been a surprise and more than what I expected. They also added on a $10 service without asking. It seems they do not advertise their pricing and it is a bit ambiguous to get a straight answer. Today I tried to get a clear understanding of what the pricing is for the base grooming services and was given vague answers along with a very condescending attitude. Responses like, 'Well I didn't know you needed to know". Also that "the price differs if the dog is difficult or the cut is different or if it takes longer, or depending on who the groomer is", etc...it was a bunch of BS. Who runs a business like this? I will not be going back to a place that really doesn't care enough to answer a customer's questions with honesty and a decent attitude. read more

My dog is shy around new people and the staff does a great job working with my dog and helping her overcome her initial fear. The staff is friendly. I work from home and took on caring for my daughter's puppy for 6 weeks while she traveled for business. Working at home with a 4mo old puppy wanting attention is hard to do. Archie went to Blue Collar nearly every week day - generally for 1/2 days but sometimes longer. It is a great place for supervised dog fun. He came home wonderfully happy and tuckered out (took nice afternoon naps). Great for developing his doggy social skills and for following instructions from people, too. The staff all seem to truly, truly like dogs and understand them, too. At first was surprised that all dogs big and small, young and old, share one large area but the diversity seems to work well. Sadly, I've had to return grandpuppy to my daughter. If ever get my own dog, I would not hesitate to bring him/her to Blue Collar Doghouse. read more

Our experience with Blue Collar Doghouse was everything we hoped for and more. We have a young Cockapoo with extremely sensitive skin and a flair for the dramatics, so grooming appointments usually resulted in a pouty puppy with extremely itchy skin (once to the point of scratching himself raw). After explaining our concerns with past groomers, the staff offered us the choice between their hypoallergenic shampoo, an oatmeal based shampoo and an aloe based shampoo --- and what a pleasant surprise! The oatmeal shampoo left our dog clean, smelling wonderful, but most of all, happy. He had virtually no itching and went home in a great mood. His haircut was adorable, too. It was a little poofy for our taste at first, but had excellent shape after it settled back into his normal curls. He was ready in just two hours and walked out with a cute little ribbon bow on his collar. Happy puppy makes for happy (loyal) customers! read more

I was enjoying this place for my well trained bird dog until this situation happened this week. My dog has been going to this place for about 3 months usually twice a week with no issues or concerns (this is the third dog day care he has attended- the other 2 were in Utah for several months each with zero issues or complications). Every time I picked up my pup I would ask how he was and was told each time he was "wonderful". My partner and I work out of town so our pet taxi service was taking the pup to daycare when I received an email from the pet taxi lady saying my dog was no longer allowed at the daycare. ????? So, I stop seeing patients and call the dog care to sort this out. Was told in a very rude and unprofessional manner by the owner that she had already spoken to my partner and that my dog was no longer welcomed at all. Turns out the convo she had with my partner was her expressing concern about my dog becoming whiny towards the end of a full day (first time we had tried a full day). She did not make clear that the dog was never welcomed back (kicked out for whiny????). When I told her her staff had continually told me the dog was doing great, she said "I'm not responsible for my staff".... Ummmm, yes you are! You are the owner! So, now thanks to my awesome pet taxi gal, my dog will trying out other dog care centers in the area that are willing to tell me the truth about their concerns, if any. The lack of clear communication, the rudeness, and the complete lack of understanding of dog psychology is shocking at this place. read more
