Let me emphasize my word choice there- he came across as a stylist and not just a sales associate looking to close a sale or upsell you on accessories. It was also my first day in Toronto and so he kindly gave a bunch of local recommendations for good eats! As far as the actual clothing selection, there were so many other cute items that I would've bought if I had the space in my luggage! They had outfits across the spectrum, ranging from casual everyday wear to more fancy/formal wear. It was also mostly organized by color which was helpful. Meg is an individually owned shop and the owner herself designs all the wares. In other words the dresses are high fashion but not trendy - they can be worn from season to season - and they fit all body types from Kate Moss to Kelly Osborne. Oh and about the attitude...oddly there is none. The staff is very relaxed and actually leaves you alone when you claim you're 'just looking.' Whether it's grad season, wedding month, or I just plain want to look good, Meg is at the top of my list when it's time to be a showstopper.

This particular location is not very big but it has always been clean and well organized. There is usually 3 staff available and I've never seen a bad line up at the cashier even on their super sale days. It doesn't carry all the stock from a bigger mall location. I find this spot more about the cute and pretty than the super casual lounge wear some places stock. I will admit during the summer it can be really warm in here. The lighting to show all the clothes nicely also acts as a heat lamp. Service here is solid... if you ever need help, you can ask and they would be available to help out. They're always cleaning but ready to answer a question or grab a new size. This particular season was all about the light pinks, lacey whites, and cute pastel natural colours. I did find a lot of the white clothing really thin.. like 'you could probably see everything if i wore this' thin. Not a great thing. I also found the cuts on these clothes unusual. For a petite person, none of their small sizes ... the waists and shoulders all sat too low that made me seem like I was trying on my mom's clothes. Another thing I noticed is that they really dont carry XS. They rely on the stretch of the clothes in size small to say 'hey this is fitted but can work for XS'. It's... different. As for pricing, it's super reasonable... we're probably talking the same price as Zara or H&M with a bit nicer cute detailing and less of the insanity of going into those stores. If I could fit into these clothes, I'd find this spot great for a casual trendy wear for a season. Unfortunately, that's not the case for me.

It is not a healthy environment to work in. Also the quality of the clothing is the worst! Everything is hand wash so it will destroy the fabric very easily. Always gossiping in the back office.

They feature the trendiest streetwear and sneakers for sale as well as have curated a variety of local and small businesses (owned by women!) to showcase their products. Moreover, in the same space, they have also collaborated with Mack House, a self-service sneaker customization studio, as well as opened up a space called Goodies (coffee by Patco Café and snacks from Auntie's Supply). I stopped by Makeway on their grand opening day to check out their new store. The store is big, bright, and beautiful! The sneaker wall looks dope and you can see how they have thoughtfully curated many small businesses to show their products. I enjoyed looking at all the things I could purchase as well as the spaciousness of the store. Moreover, you are also able to purchase coffee and snacks from Goodies. Lots of Asian snacks from Auntie's Supply and coffee/beverages are by Patco Café. Along with coffee, there is also matcha and hojicha lattes as well (made to order or bottled)! Unbeknownst to me I was under-charged on a couple items I purchased. The next day I see a new…read morecharge from the store so I call them. The sales associate tells me she accidentally under charged me but had spoken with the store owner and it would be sorted. The owner sorted it alright by fraudulently charging my credit card. She didn't even call to alert me about what was going on and, after I left a message for her I still didn't hear back. So, I contacted my bank and they reimbursed me and are handling it with this store. You can't charge someone one price, let them leave your store and then the next day feel like it's ok to just take their CC # and charge more money! That's illegal! And, worse is not even a phone call? Really? RUDE and unprofessional. I'm sure she will be surprised to find that she's not getting that extra money she STOLE from me!
