Had lunch there today. Great Food! Margaritas not as sweet as most Tex-mex restaurants which was great. Server very attentive and made sure all was to our liking. They need to be lit up better from outside. Almost thought they were closed. Not biggest fan of the neon OPEN sign but almost all shops there have one - they might want one. read more

Look and be deceiving. The food tastes better than how it looks. We are pleased with dinner. Queso (4.5/5) portion was small but tastes great. Creamy and not at all spicy although it has chile. Beef Fajita (4/5) was surprisingly tasty. A few pieces of beef but they're big slices and juicy. The veggies were cook just right with nice charr. The sides are typical, nothing special. The plate came out sizzling hot but the meat did not carry the same heat. Shrimp tacos (4/5) were delicious. Didn't look too appetizing but tasted incredible. Comes with rice and beans. The highlight of the meal was the kids sliders (5/5) . Great potion with huge serving of perfectly fried tatter tots. For $5, what a deal. Our son loved it! We also got the street corn (3.5/5) which we thoroughly enjoyed. Glad we came to support a new establishment. read more

Nice new Tex Mex spot in Avery ranch, located in the old Z'Tejas location. Love the decor - the wall mural is stunning and the bar area is colorful and lively. Service was great - our server was energetic and friendly. My friend and I ordered the vegetarian quesadillas to share along with a large guac. This was a hearty and filling meal for two people. The food was fresh and nailed the classic Tex Mex flavors. It was my birthday so they brought out a plate of delicious churros on the house for dessert! The churros were hot and delicious, and served with sweet dipping sauces (one chocolate, one caramel/goat cheese). Yum! It was tequila Tuesday when we visited so we enjoyed their house margaritas with premium tequila for only $10. Great deal! read more

Delicious Tex-Mex food with several vegetarian options on the menu. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a modern vibe. There's a private space available for reservation with larger groups. We went here for brunch. When we arrived it wasn't busy so we were seated immediately but, getting drinks took a while. Food wise: the guacamole and queso were good. We tried the shrimp quesadilla as an app and while it tasted good the shrimp inside were small. Overall, just seemed like a regular Tex-mex place. read more

We visited Blue Agave on a Saturday afternoon and it did not disappoint. Everything from being seated to paying the ticket was a pleasure! Everyone had a smile on their faces and a welcoming attitude. We had the chips and salsa. Chips were like I prefer... Thin and crispy! You get a smooth salsa... One tomatillo and one roja. A little kick but delicious. My husband ordered the beef fajita tacos and the beef on his tacos were tender and flavorful. I ordered a chimichanga filled with carnitas. The carnitas were fall apart tender and juicy! We also ordered the queso with chorizo, guac and Pico. Personally I prefer white queso but it was tasty. I don't drink often and I can't finish a regular sized margarita but the bartender was nice enough to make me a mini frozen margarita. The flavor was great and it was refreshing! I found Blue Agave on Google maps when I was searching for a restaurant to eat at after a long week at work. I honestly didn't even know it was there until I found it on Google maps. I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant itself is very nice. It was clean, the staff was welcoming and the murals were unique. We ordered the queso and guac for appetizers and the guac was smooth and tasty. You could tell the avocados were ripe and used at the perfect time The margaritas we got were great too! I got the frozen mango margarita. We were there for happy hour so they were a great price too. My son ordered chicken tenders and he loved them (what kid wouldn't love chicken tenders?) and he's under 12 so he ate for free. I ordered the shrimp tacos with the cilantro lime rice and the street corn. Everything was delicious and it was some of the best street corn I've ever had. My girlfriend got chicken enchiladas and I was able to taste them. The chicken filling had a great flavor and just the right amount of spice. We finished with some churros for dessert and they were great too. I'm surprised that churros aren't available at every Tex Mex restaurant, so when they are on the menu I will order them. I'm so glad we tried Blue Agave today. I think I've found my new go to Tex Mex restaurant. I live in this area and have tried most of the Tex Mex restaurants around this area and my opinion is this is he best of the bunch. Do yourself a favor and check it out. I've been here twice now - once with family and once for lunch with friends. Service was amazing both times. Love the new mural although I loved the old one too. I'm glad they kept the beautiful vibrant colors and open space. We all (including my kids) loved the food (and they can be picky at times!) including quesadilla, guacamole and enchiladas. I would go back for the margaritas alone - delish! When I went back with friends, we had salads and churros - the perfect afternoon treat. Even though this spot hasn't been open that long, from my understanding, we've been meaning to try it out. We went mid-afternoon, on a Monday, so there was only one other table and it appeared the bartender was serving both tables. Regardless, we received excellent service and had a wonderful late lunch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The gentleman serving, told us that they have music on the patio, certain nights as well. We plan to go back and enjoy that experience. We will be back for lunches, too. Definitely recommend! read more

First of all - expensive, which would be ok if the food were amazing. But it just wasn't. We ordered nachos and a burrito. There was just no flavor. The burrito came out wrapped in tinfoil (can you say reheated?), with no sauce, sour cream, guac - just a dry burrito with dry white cilantro rice. The nachos had this horrible white velveta type cheese (only on the bottom layer) and ground beef that had flour or something else mixed in with it to make it go farther, my guess. Really disappointed. An old fashioned drink was $17. Seriously? Margarita was not good - they put a dehydrated lime in it. What is that all about? Our waitress was great, however. We were really hoping this place was going to be our new hangout, but sadly we won't be going back. read more

We just went tonight. Great service and ambience. This has always been a good location and they still have the nice patio. I ordered the beef crispy taco and chicken enchilada. Personally I did not like the beef taco, it was set in a sweet sauce and I usually don't like those. Chicken enchilada tasted better and it is very smoky. Black beans were a little bland. I'm hoping they can improve upon the food and I am willing to try again with another dish. read more

Wow, this may be my favorite new Tex-Mex in Austin. I highly highly recommend the Carnitas enchiladas with Monterey Jack cheese and avocado really delicious. Looks like they have great breakfast tacos and regular. Tex-Mex looks like they're big on happy hour. Also hope you enjoy it. read more

*Caveat for my review, it's based on a delivery order!* That being said this place was terrible. The $5 Street Corn was basically in a condiment container, which wouldn't have been that bad if it tasted good but it was extremely bland. Had zero of that normal "street corn flavor". The Chimichanga was terrible, it's delivered disassembled for freshness presumably but there's no where near enough "sauce" to cover the chimichanga and no possible way to melt the cheese that's included on the side. It tasted like Taco Bell beef stuffed into a giant fried tortilla that I poured water on top of. The sauce was bland, the cheese and pico inside was bland, and the beef was incredibly salty again with a very Taco Bell-like flavor and texture. I had three bites and threw it out, I never waste food and I'll eat almost anything but it was absolutely terrible. My wife's Classic Enchiladas were acceptable, but I didn't try them. She said she wouldn't order from this place again regardless of the enchiladas though. I seriously give Blue Agave 2/10. I would have rather had Taco Bell. read more

The service was impeccable, and the staff was super friendly. The manager Jackie Ward gave us a warm welcome, she had a big smile and made us feel at home.
