I had a microneedling appointment, but unfortunately their skinpen did not work, so I was waiting an hour for them to fix it. It was strange that they do not have any backup device. I was told to reschedule, and was offered some discount on future appointment. The problem is, I do not want future appointment. I would gladly accept the discount offer and reschedule if it was applied to this current treatment instead, otherwise, just cancel and get a refund. They took some time to communicate with the owner about that, but could not give me an answer on the spot. They told me they would talk to me on the phone instead. I understand it was not anyone's fault, so I gave it some time until late afternoon to call back. They still insisted on waiting for the owner's decision, but then put me on hold, got back about 30 seconds later and said just cancel and refund, no discount for wasting my time. That gave me an impression that if I did not call back, they would not even bother to call me like they promised and kept me hanging. They did not seem to be sincere about solving the issue. I've been coming here for 10 years for Botox and Juvéderm. They always do such a great job. I've only had one instance where they didn't have Juvedérm in stock & instead of telling me that, they just injected me with a different brand. I tend to bruise really easily, so I usually have one person I prefer to go to because she's a bit more gentle with me. All in all, I will continue to give them my business because they've been pretty consistent & I'm able to achieve the same results every time. read more

On their website this med spa likes to advertise that they won "best facial" in Silicon Valley according to the Mercury News. Make sure you pay attention to the year. This was in 2012. Now it's 2016 and I think they need to work a little harder to get that title back. I found this place on Yelp and with all the glowing reviews, I decided to get it a try. I was moving back to the Bay from out of state and hoping to establish my go-to facial spot. My skin was horrible and needed fixing. I didn't need the facial to be relaxing; I just needed my skin to be cleaned and taken cared of because of my issues with acne and congestion. I called them up to make an appointment. I didn't know what kind of treatment I wanted so I asked the receptionist to schedule me a consultation along with the service so I could talk to the esthetician about my concerns beforehand. When I got here, I filled out the necessary paper work and then was greeted the esthetician. She led me into a room and had me put on a robe and lay down. I thought that we were going to have a little discussion before we started, but we went right into it. She didn't really ask me anything about my skin issues before we started so basically there was NO consultation. I didn't even know what type of facial I was getting done. She asked her questions sporadically throughout the facial. As for the actual facial itself, it was a mixed bag. Her face massages were very gentle and therapeutic. I felt very relaxed in her hands when she was cleansing my face. However, when it came to the extractions, I had never experienced ones that were so painful in my life. She did give me prior warnings with each step (i.e. you may feel some tingling, people are usually sensitive to this part, etc). I've had many facials before, but the pressure was just so painful that my nose was still sore to the touch three days later. She did clear out my pores very well, but I don't think I would be able to go through it again. One thing that also bothered me was that even though the website says the facial is 50 minutes long, it wasn't. I came into the room about 2:33pm. Started at 36, then finished at 17 minutes after the hour. From my total, that is about 41 minutes give or take. In the end, I still left her a 10 percent tip just to be courteous even though I felt like she rushed through the facial and that she didn't take any extra time to address my concerns. If you are looking for more expensive treatments like botox and laser hair removal, this place might be better suited for you. I don't think basic facials are their speciality, and are definitely not worth the price. read more

Holy is amazing! She worked on me a little over 5-6 months ago and my lips look great! However my some parts of my lips didn't react well with the product and so i waited it out to see if it would go away. My lips had minor bumps and dryness which is a little rare but my body is sensitive. Holy was extremely accommodating and helped me dissolve parts of it for it to go away. My lips still look amazing and all thanks to Holy! She is extremely sweet and honest. Definitely 10/10 customer service. This review is for Laser Hair removal, MAYBE I will be back in two weeks to give a positive review about botox, but Laser Hair removal was an awful experience. I did a consultation one month before in order to get info on both procedures. I told the person that I had LHR before in my abs and bikini area and I would like to do the same with them. The person told me it would be USD 250/ session. I thought it was okay since the price was the average I was seeing in the region and similar to what I paid in San Francisco (by the way, I just needed to change the place to do my laser because now I live in San Jose). Today, when I went to have the laser session, I was oriented to apply a numbing cream and wait for 20 minutes (that became 30). When I was about to start, the nurse asked me if I was aware of the price and I said yes, 250. She told me I was wrong and 250 would be only for bikini, the abs would be 250 more. I did not do the procedure but what made me more upset was the fact that they waited for me to have my vagina numb to tell me that it would cost me the double to have the service I was looking for. And then, instead of only apologize and move on, they kept insisting that the person would never tell me that, i.e, I was the one who got the information wrong. Anyway, be careful when you are discussing price. And be sure to do a bit of research, the service is way overpriced for the region. I am still praying that I will get the right results for botox, which concerns me after reading some negative reviews that I didn't read before... read more

Blu Cocoon is my go to for my procedures! The staff, while a little sterile, are friendly and adept at their jobs and the place is inviting and comfortable. I have been happy with the results and look forward to coming back. The laser hair removal here is worth the investment. I had my underarm hairs zapped to eliminate armpit shadows prior to my wedding in 2013. Since then, the hair growth has been minimal (decreased 90%) and I only occasionally come in for maintenance (at half price!). While it is painful (I pop plenty of ibuprofens before the procedure), it is over fairly quickly and the pain is seriously worth the gain (isn't it always?). Make sure to ask for extra numbing time when booking your appointment if you are a pansy like me. I also have had a singular treatment of laser vein removal. I have very fair skin and my mom has tons of spider veins. I had a little web growing near the inner base of my left ankle and was fearful of it getting bigger. Susan (who is awesome by the way) gave me plenty of numbing time and the procedure was quick and mostly painless. Since then the web has all but disappeared and hasn't really come back. Prevention is always cheaper than the cure! I pointed out some other blue areas on my legs, but apparently those were my real veins haha. She made sure not to zap those. The facials here are really great too. There isn't much upsell or pressure for additional treatments which is a huge plus. When you have a consultation, the staff merely suggests options for you for your condition(s). Though the spa isn't cheap, the prices are worth the results and the peace of mind knowing that you and your body will be taken care of (hey you only have one...). While the front of the house doesn't have much in terms of a waiting room, I've never really had to wait more than five minutes before being brought to a room. They don't seem to have very many rooms, so there is a small couch area in which I've had to wait with other clients while numbing - a tad strange while clad in a towel wrap with my clothing in a basket. The last post I made about this facility was 6 years ago for my laser hair removal. Wow! Well as you can tell with my latest review I'm still a returning and happy client! This time my reviews is on the injections I have been receiving. The past few years I have had Botox for my crows feet and fillers to lessen the look of my natural puffy eyes. No ice or sleep can make them go away. Call it genetics and aging. Lol! Christina has been my go to for both botox and fillers. She is very knowledgeable, super sweet and keeps you relaxed. She explains each step she does and gives you honest recommendations that are realistic. Remember injections should only enhance your natural beauty not alter you completely. So please have honest expectations with yourself going in with any injections on your face. Anyway, Christina is gentle and maybe I have a higher pain tolerance but there hasn't been a time I left in pain or uncomfortable. If anything as a precaution on my first time, I took Tylenol just in case. Then realized I didn't need it when I had my recurring appointments. Now just recently, I have been curious about lip injections so I had asked Christina about it on my last botox appointment and she was by luck available the following week. Which was yesterday! TIP ALERT: ARRIVE about 20mins early!! WHY you ask...to apply numbing cream on your lips. I applied that on like no tomorrow!!! Lol. Just make sure you keep your mouth closed unless you want your tongue numb too. Make sure you apply well over your natural lip line. Injections can be placed above, on, below the lip depending where it's needed. So the longer you have the numbing cream on the better. I did not feel anything besides maybe a little pinch or two but NO pain or discomfort at all. Christina filled my lips and I was blown away on my lips. It was natural but more plump to it. She understood what I wanted and I'm very happy with my results!! What she recommended for me to use was original Juvederm 1 syringe and if I like it she will try another type of juvederm that will last longer but maybe a bit more discomfort. For now I'm enjoying my plumper lips. Lol. I did bruise a little but not terrible that a darker gloss can't cover. Just make sure to constantly moisturize your lips for a few days. You will loose a little volume as the injection settles but that's to be expected. Tips: -With any injections it is best to not be super active after 24 hours. -lip injections arrive early at least 20mins for numbing cream. Thank me later. (Btw-- you might accidentally slobber on yourself since your mouth is numb...I did. Lol) -Christina is only available a few days out of the week so make sure to book your appointment far in advance. I've been here multiple times for laser hair reduction. Maybe 5 treatments now for my underarms. It's very expensive, $130 a session. A lot of other places have much cheaper prices. But I keep coming back here, 1 because the laser hair is working, and 2 the salon is very beautiful and clean. My main comments are for the employees. They aren't exactly rude but they definitively are not friendly. Maybe they all just have resting B faces? It's a weird atmosphere in my opinion. I walk in, and I end up greeting the receptionist first...Once I was walking down the hallway and a receptionist was walking the opposite direction. I had to quickly stop and moved out up against the wall as she charged past. Our eyes met but she didn't saying anything. Only employee that I can compliment is Holy! Very sweet and kind, does a great job with the laser reduction. She's literally the only person I've seen there that smiles at you. After my underarms are done I'm going to go someplace else for my legs. WHY I SAY WHEN I'M NOT YELPING I'M ADDICTED TO GETTING LASER HAIR REMOVAL ^_^ I've been getting lasered here for nearly a year now, since I discovered Blu Cocoon and the owner Cristina based on the great reviews on Yelp! I get my Brazillian, legs and lip area done and I can't tell you how happy I am with the results! Believe me ladies, IT IS SO WORTH IT to not have to shave my damn legs and underarms everyday! I've been to other laser hair removal medspas, and this is by far my favorite one. Let me tell you, I am so glad I found Cristina for the fantastic results I see and the excellent service I receive! Cristina, who is also the cofounder, is very honest, upfront and not pushy whatsoever. During my appointments, she's personablle, funny and also compassionate! When you are getting lasered or waxed, not only is it important to have someone that is highly competant, but it's also important to find someone that is compassionate when you are getting your hair ripped or zapped off of you! *Tip* Do not get lasered the week before your period when you are extra sensitive, because it's not the laser that hurts more it's you! After my first visit, I quickly noticed results, approximately a 20% reduction for my Brazillian area, and believe me I don't miss those hairs whatsoever, haha. After just a few sessions for my Brazillian area, I was amazed that I hardly noticed anything down there at all! NO MORE BRAZILLIAN WAXES, YAY! And no more shaving! Woo hoo! I wish I had done this sooner, and hadn't wasted my time and money getting Brazillian waxes. For my lip area, just 2-3 sessions seemed to zap the peach fuzzies where I had to look really hard to find them, haha. The lasers there seem and are more effective than the other medspas I have been to. It does feel a bit more painful, to be perfectly honest, but I'd rather suck it up and see better results for my money! Hey, no pain no gain right? It's better than having to endure and pay for more sessions with a laser that isn't as effective! Even more, the lidocaine pain cream used to numb you is INCLUDED with your service! At other places, it's considered optional and can cost you anywhere from $35-50 for a little tube! You want the pain cream ladies. It's also really important that you find someone that you're comfortable with, especially when that someone is pointing a laser gun at your private parts, lol. Cristina is absolutely wonderful, and we gab and laugh on and on during our treatments. Her staff as well is a reflection of the owner's professionalism and ease of which to work with! As for pricing, the per treatment prices are very reasonable and a better value than many of the other places I called if you are unsure about getting a package deal or just want to try it out if it's your first time. However, I recommend going straight for multisessions, as you'll soon be an addict like me once you get started ;-p Plus, you get a 10% discount if you purchase 5 or more treatments to save you more money. If after 5 treatments you still need more sessions, it's 50% off thereafter. A while back, she mentioned a deal she was having on underarms, legs and I believe lip as well. I went into Blu Cocoon for a consultation with Cristina, and was very impressed by the lovely facilities and all of the services they offered. After determining what would help resolve my skin issues, I made an appointment for a facial and Vibradermabrasion. After getting the Vibraderm treatment (http://www.vibraderm.com/ - fyi - there's sound on that site), my skin is super smooth!! I got it done along with their classic facial, and the combination of both left my face glowing. Bettina was my medical esthetician, and she was very gentle, and the entire procedure was very relaxing. I loved that the there was a heating pad against my back to keep me nice and toasty. I could've fallen asleep, but the walls were a little thin, and I could hear everything happening outside the hall. I'm excited to see what a difference these treatments make on my skin. I also picked up a few products, including the Obagi face cleanser, TiZo SPF 40, Pick Me Up Skin Booster Pads, and Supracor Spacells facial sponge and bath mitt to scrub off all those dead skin cells. The most exciting thing that I picked up was the Latisse solution, a FDA approved prescription treatment used to grow eyelashes! I'll give an update on whether I get results in about 4 months. I have been in the market for a Laser Hair Removal treatment. I chose Blu Cocoon based on the Yelp Reviews. Underarm is $130 each session and after your 5th session its half the price. I have gone through 6 sessions total and it worked great for me! My hair thinned out and eventually went away. I could of stopped after my 5th session but I decided to do one more just for the heck of it. Holy has been the one treating me and she is friendly and wonderful! I very much felt comfortable around her. Also, I have a small pain tolerance. Holy was awesome for pausing during the procedure and made sure to blow that cold air on my painful spot after being lasered ("Beauty is Pain"). Thank you Holy for being GREAT! Came here to have some laser hair removal done and I was pleasantly surprised. I have had some bad experiences with laser hair removal but my experience at Blu Cocoon was amazing and nothing like before. Susan, the R.N. lasering me, was thorough and comforting during my laser hair removal treatment. I am kind of a cry-baby but she calmed me down and made me feel so comfortable and kept the conversation up to distract me (I think). She was patient with me and definitely eased my pain with the conversation. Also, those laser machines are freaking amazing! There is a cool air that is connected to the laser machine which lessens the pain by a lot compared to previous treatments I have had with other laser machines. The spa itself is really nice and aesthetically relaxing- they even have a nice relax area where you can just unwind. Getting to the point, this place is great! I called Blu Cocoon for a consultation on laser hair removal after reading all the amazing reviews on yelp. The thing is, all the reviews talked about how wonderful Christina is. Naturally, when I called I wanted to book an appointment with Christina. It turns out she doesn't take any more appointments. -1 star This is only partially true. A friend of mine yelled and threw a fit because she only wanted to work with Christina and Christina gave in. But, for the rest of us who don't want to holler, we get put with other people. I had a consultation appointment with Tammy. She was fine. I'm sure she's great at what she does. I was expecting that she was going to be working with me. That was the impression I got when she said, "lets book an appointment when I'm free". I went in today and some other woman was going to work on me. -1 star. The technician is an extremely important part when you get work done so to think you're working with one person but then you get the old switch a roo, it is not pleasant. Lucky for me, I wasn't feeling Tammy so much but I LOVE Lisa. She's sooooooo great. I accidentally got to the appointment half an hour early. I wrote the time in my planner wrong. But, they were able to take me and start the numbing process. They normally allocate 30 minutes but they gave me 45min so really let the numbing cream do its thing. Lisa talked me through the whole procedure. My comfort was her first priority. She explained how the settings worked, what to expect in the current appointment, what to expect with the next appointment. She kept asking me if I was okay. She told me we could stop and break at any time. She even brought in ice in case I needed it. I didn't. It was virtually pain free. (I did my underarms ). Tammy had told me to shave a day or two before the procedure. Lisa told me to shave as close as possible to the appointment time. This is my first time with laser hair removal, so I'm not sure what others do.... I also want to get a Brazilian laser done. I've been waxing for years so it no longer hurts, but when I first got it done.. OUCH. I bled. So, I'm quite nervous about getting those parts zapped, especially since Lisa says most people find the bikini area the most painful. Lisa really talked me through it step by step and by the end of my session, I was convinced. She also explained that if I wanted to work with her again, I'd have to specifically request her, otherwise, they just fill you in during any open slot. I really like the front desk person, Rachel. She's very sweet. She seems happy to see you, has a pleasant demeanor, and is welcoming. There's another girl, who's not so sweet, in my opinion, but I guess I have to deal with it :) I got lucky there was a promotion going on so I got 15% off the listed price. Also, they allow you to pay half now and half 30 days later which I found helpful. I'll update yelp with the results of the hair removal. I was a little concerned because I have an olive complexion so I wondered if I was a little too dark for this to work but two of my friends with similar complexions have had laser removal at Blu Cocoon and its totally worked for them. No hair. I'm super excited about this. I now understand how this can be addicting!! I would highly recommend Lisa. You'll feel so comfortable and so taken care of with her. read more

Asking someone to advise you on what to do to meet your skin care needs, and/or sticking needles in your face is a different ballgame. The Susan/Blu Cocoon combo is the complete package as far as I'm concerned. She is beautiful inside and out, kind, knowledgeable, super professional and totally patient while I confessed every insecurity and pointed out every imperfection in my face/skin. She's also willing to tell me no. HUGE. There's no upsell pressure or play on my already obsessive insecurity about what else I could be doing. If I want more Botox and don't need it- Susan will tell me. If I'm thinking I should do some new procedure but I'm not sure, she can explain all the ins and outs and tell me to think about it and call if I want to come back. It's so refreshing to go to a med spa and not feel pressured... or concerned I'm going to come out looking all cougar-who-went overboard-on-the-filler. She has great stories to keep you distracted and she's very precise! A different girl did my bikini area and I started to notice hair was still growing on the inside of my lips near the clit (oh shush! it's not gross since YOU have the same body parts I do) When Shanna did mine, it hurt in places it didn't before which means she's gettin to all the places the first girl missed! I also have an oily T zone so I only trust Jaime to do my microderms. It hurts when she does it, so I know she's getting every little blackhead! I received the laser hair treatment on my lip/chin area, It was a great overall experience. The numbing cream worked and there was very little pain. I am so excited just to have even a reduction in back annoying chin and lip hairs. I love the professional feel of the facility. Its not a social/feel-good spa with five million other clients. These clients are here for a purpose!! Update - 06/04/08 It's happening...I went in last week to purchase the pit hair removal package..I'm becoming addicted!!! 05/21/08 - So, I hate to say this publically...but as I'm getting older I noticed that I was getting more facial hair. It was bugging me to no end and I decided to get laser hair removal. I looked on Yelp and saw that Blu Cocoon had crazy good ratings so I went in for a consultation....and came out of it purchasing multiple treatments...as well as my bf doing so, too. HA HA Cristina is amazing...her personality...her skills!!! I was so nervous to go because I started getting adult acne a few years ago and I didn't want anything else to go wrong with my face. She even talked to me on the phone to say "get in here, silly!" I finally went last Saturday and had NO reaction! I could not believe it. Even my bf has a slight reaction and I am the one with sensitive skin. (Of course, everyone has different reactions.) I have found my experience here is highly dependent on the professional who does the service. I have gotten Botox here three times and I have been extremely happy, except for when Tamara (Tammy) did it. She didn't even have me frown to look at my lines and didn't seem methodical in her distribution of the injections; in fact I felt like she put too much in individual spots. Cristina and whoever I saw the first time were AMAZING and I have nothing but good things to say. I will make sure I request Cristina from now on. On to laser hair removal. The first time went fine but I felt like the professional really rushed and, again, was not methodical and didn't pay attention to detail, rushing over areas. Since that first time, I have had laser hair removal there three more times with Asma and she is incredible! So thorough and makes sure she gets everything. I am extremely happy with her and now make sure I request her each time. I can't remember who performed my laser hair removal the first time but it was an older, blonde woman. I love Blu Cocoon Med Spa! I have been seen by many different nurses, and three of my favorites have been Susan, Lisa, and Tammy. They are all very nice and friendly. The ladies at the reception desk are also always very nice. Hair reduction is not cheap but they have competitive pricing and are very professional. I am usually early to my appointments and with one exception in the past have always been seen on time. My hairs are stubborn and I have been doing maintenance for a couple years now, but I do see results.Remember it is reduction and not removal, so don't expect a miracle. It may take a few years for some ladies, such as myself, but eventually you do see results. I recommend a combination of laser and electrolysis. I feel electrolysis is good for the leftover "strays" and also for hairs on the face. If you have a low pain tolerance I recommend taking two advil prior to the session and not drinking caffeine. I have a higher tolerance, but even if you don't, try to grit your teeth through it at first, you will numb to it after a few seconds and it will hurt much less every time. Just my advice! Minus one star because it doesn't seem like the table sheets are changed in between appointments and I often see random hairs or cream on them. Paper liners would be a little more sanitary and not much more expensive, just a suggestion. :) Once I came on a Monday and the open sign was not up and I didn't see anyone through the window. They make special as needed Monday appointments, and have an answering service so if you have one and they seemed closed, don't drive away like I did. :) Always make your appointments as far in advance as possible because they really book up! read more

I came here for the first time for laser hair removal. I found this place by ALL their great reviews on Yelp (I love Yelp!). This is located in the shopping plaza on Coleman which is great because it's right by my work downtown. All the staff here is so great and so sweet! First I had my consulation which takes about 30 mins. We talked about the procedures I was interested in and what to expect and it was very helpful! I love that they are very honest here as said in other Yelp reviews. They did tell me what would be a waste of money for my body. I think the prices here are very reasonable for the results. For laser hair removal, the first 5 treatments are full price and any maintenance after that is half off! And they have sales from time to time. I bought a $500 gift certificate for $400! On top of that I got a $25.00 off coupon for registering online for email and stuff. I had my first treatment this past weekend. You make an appointment which includes the allocated time for numbing cream. After applying numbing cream you wait about 20 mins or so and then you are ready to be lasered. I was so nervous about being lasered because I have a low tolerance for pain. Man oh man the numbing cream worked miracles! No pain whatsoever just little tingles here and there! And the treatments are so quick! People were right, this place is going to be addicting! I told them "Wow! I love this! What else can I do here?!" read more

I am a year behind on giving my review, only because I really liked the facility and the staff. So, it bums me out that I have to give this place a not so good review, but I want people to be cautious before they decide to do a treatment. I am giving them a 3-star because they do have a nice facility and they do well in the other services, but I think the Botox services need to be looked into or just taken off as a service. I went to Blu Cocoon for a consultation for Botox (I have never done before), and the consultation went very well and I was really excited for it. I was getting this done specifically for my wedding photos. I didn't want to have a brow furrow during pictures, knowing I would be looking into the sunlight. The overall experience of getting the Botox procedure done was great and the staff was very informative on how to take care of yourself. They even mentioned that if there are any areas that didn't "freeze", to come back and they'll evaluate to see if I am eligible for additional units. After the Botox was injected in my brow area, left optimistic and happy knowing that I will not have any wrinkles on my wedding day. The 7 - 10 days for it to fully kick in went by and I started to see results. It is a really exciting feeling when you have this one wrinkle area that always shows whether you are making the expression or not, disappear. It was such a great feeling... Botox typically lasts 3 -6 months, depending on the client. Which was perfect for me as my wedding was 2 months away and I didn't want to be super frozen face. They suggested that if I have any movement prior to the wedding to get a freshening up. Well to my dismay, I started feeling movement 3 WEEKS after I had gotten the procedure done. So, I call and let them know my situation and they are completely accommodating to give me a "refresh" of units on the brow area that is still moving. They were complete surprised by the lack of results my Botox had, so THIS time was going to work and its even better that my wedding is only a month or so away.... I wait the 7 - 10 days for the Botox to kick in, AGAIN... this time, it never did. At this point, I had spent about $400 on it, which is fine if it had worked. But when I call back again to let them know that it still hadn't taken affect, they had said that they would have to charge me full price and could not give me additional units for free. Which at some point I understand. I am not one to take advantage, but I thought at least I would get some money refunded for the product completely failing and my wedding pics still having brow lines show. :( Note: it is known that some places will put saline in their Botox to make a bigger profit. I am not saying that this place does that, but its hard to believe that after so many units in one area, in the span on 4 weeks that it never kicked in. read more

I love coming here! Cristina and her staff are very friendly and attentive. I've been coming here for a couple of months for the vibraderm treatment. I pretty much have clear skin but the only problem I have is dryness and buildup. Jamie, the estitician, has been the one taking care of me and has done a great job. Sometimes she suggests certain products for me to use but never pressured me to make a purchase. Since the vibraderm treatments, my skin has improved and the dryness is minimal. My newest obsession now is laser hair removal. The process doesn't take that long at all and the pain is minimal (the numbing part actually takes longer than the removal process). Basically I'm in then out. Each visit has been great that I have to admit, I'm hooked coming here now. After the laser hair treatments, I wonder what I'll end up doing next. read more
