I decided to try this salon out because of the great reviews but noticed there were no ethnic clients' photos, which made me a little skeptical but I decided to have faith in their skills. The location is convenient for me since I do my grocery shopping and my nails within 0.5 miles from the salon. The interior is immaculate and modern; staff were friendly and genuinely concerning; prices are even better. Albeit, I was one of the first black clients in this particular shop, they exceeded my expectations and did a better job than my regular hair stylist (no shade). They were very attentive to my hair type and needs, giving honest feedback and suggestions. I can proudly say, ANYONE with hair that is told is "hard to manage", this salon does not shy away from a challenge, and will style your hair with love and precision. I will definitely be returning.

She re bleached areas of my hair that were previously bleached causing them to turn white as opposed to the ash blonde I asked for. The entire crown of my head has burned off so badly I'm now going to have to cut my hair to even try to get it to look decent. If I could give them zero stars I would. Please do not go here to end up with a bad experience as I did.

I got my haircut here about a month ago and finally styled my hair since receiving the cut. Why?…read moreBecause it came out terrible. I showed the woman the image of the hairstyle & she confidently started cutting. I got nervous because she was going in pretty short and haphazardly but she seemed like she knew what she was doing. & then she blew dry it, I hated it. I spoke up and pointed out the areas that looked nothing like the image. It was shaggy, choppy and quite honestly the curtain bangs looked like how when I tried cut my own bangs. Typically haircuts get better with time, but a month in and I still can't wear my hair down.

He never made me feel rushed and took the time to explain every step of the process while making sure I was comfortable. Walter answered all of my questions about the treatment, maintenance, and the best products to use--and just as importantly, which products and treatments to avoid to help my results last. I really appreciated his honesty. Instead of trying to sell me additional services or products, he was upfront about what I didn't need and even recommended avoiding certain treatments because they could affect the Magic Sleek results. That kind of integrity is rare. It's clear that Walter genuinely cares about his clients and takes pride in his work. I left feeling confident that my hair was in the hands of someone who is highly skilled and truly knowledgeable about Magic Sleek. If you're looking for someone certified in Magic Sleek and want beautiful results from someone you can trust, Walter is absolutely worth the trip. I would highly recommend him to anyone in Nassau County and beyond!

I have been a loyal client and have referred her tons of business because I knew she was starting a new business out on her own. But after yesterday, my opinion has changed dramatically. Her business has increasingly been going downhill and her behavior toward her clients worse and worse. Yesterday she told me to BLOWDRY MY OWN HAIR. The only reason I obliged was because I was in so much shock. She took me an hour late and then went 2 hours over time when I told her I needed to be somewhere 15 minutes later and had to meet a client of my own. List of shocking behavior: 1. Insulting me 2 appointments ago as to why I went a few months without seeing her. I considered leaving her then. I should have. 2. She has no respect for your time. Increasing wait time (up to 1 hr). She turned away a client and made her come back 3 hours later. 3. Double booking and forgetting to schedule you in. (This has happened twice.) 4. Only cares about your money. She told the client before me that her credit card machine was broken but took mine 1.5 hours later after confronting her about her unprofessional behavior. 5. Her work has been getting worse. My haircut is not as great as it was a few years ago. There are many other better colorists who blend better than her and know how to do balayage much better than her. Dont waste your time here. I dont know why I kept going back. Her haircut is okay but you can find better. Her techniques and styles are outdated. I was shopping around for a new stylist, but I only went back because I was hoping my suspicions weren't true and I was used to her at this point. But suspicions of her unscrupulous behavior were proven correct. Debrah doesn't care about her clients. She has no integrity. And her work no longer warrants what she charges. If I am giving you my money, I expect respect. I asked around to see if I was imagining things. I felt so hurt and undervalued. But everyone agreed with me. You DO NOT treat your clients like this. Your client is there by CHOICE. And we also have the CHOICE not to be your client anymore. Don't get so comfortable that you feel you can disrespect people like this. Let this be a lesson. Be warned.
