My daughter and I ran by the drive through today and we were so disappointed. We purchased 2…read moresandwiches and one bag of chips totalling over $20. I got the wrap sandwich with ham instead of turkey. It was supposed to have apples in it and it didn't; also there was enough mustard/mayo on there to make 10 wraps. When I bit into it all I had was mustard/mayo. Messy and not good. I would not purchase that again. My daughter ordered The Balboa and was informed at the window that they were out of steak. She changed her order to a fried chicken tender sandwich but received a club sandwich instead. By the time we realized it we had driven too far away to turn back. The club sandwich was just okay. I tasted of it and it would have been better without the avocado mash but that's just my personal preference. My daughter didn't care for it at all. The young man at the window was nice and polite. I would like to try a salad from there or the breakfast items and coffee. The sandwiches just didn't hit the mark for us though.

They share the space with another business as well. The drink was good but the mango wasn't ripe so it wasn't as good as it could have been. Mango is out of season so I get it. The elote could have been bomb if they wouldnt have used canned corn. Even frozen corn would've been a better option. The flavors were there it just let you wanting more because the corn was too soft. I will go back again if I want a quick snack to take with me. I'm interested in trying more things on the menu.

They offer many sweet treats like milkshakes, chocolate covered bananas, icecream, paletas, and many other items. I tried the mangonada which was very good except they had them sitting in the freezer instead of making them fresh which made it hard to drink because the drink was initially pretty frozen. Other than that I was good. I also had the elote which had a really nice balanced flavor, but they used canned corn instead of fresh which definitely drew away from the flavor experience. Overall everything tasted good. I will definitely bring my kids back for some ice cream and shakes. I want to try some Paletas next!

I decided on their signature drink, the iced caramelicious espresso and a maple waffle sandwich. The sandwich comes with sausage however I modified my order to get it without. This is the kind of place I love to find when I'm on vacation…read more We were on a side trip to Macon and found Tropical Flava on Yelp. We walked in right at noon. Every table had a lilly centerpiece with full place settings, it gave off a nice vibe. My wife had the fried fish and I had the jerk chicken. The fish was tender and fresh. My jerk chicken had a great flavor, just enough spice and the rice/beans were the perfect compliment. If we were locals, we'd be frequent visitors.

Ordering a jerk tofu got me one of the more impressive renditions of such a dish I've ever seen, with ample sauteed vegetables and a sauce that delivered a robust, sweet and spicy flavor. The tea I got to drink was also sweet; I wish I had known that in advance as I would have just had water. I tried a coco bread (presumably with coconut milk in it), which was handy for sopping up my sauce but not anything that really jumped out at me. There were a few other vegetable dishes and an extensive selection of juices and Caribbean sodas, so plenty of ways to get the island flavor. This particular culinary tradition isn't all that easy to find in the U.S., so I was happy to have found it here.

Needless to say, when she told me a new place in town had opened up, we had to stop by. Cone Crazy on Main has a classic ice cream parlor feel to it. I found it clean and comfortable, conveniently located, with parking on the side or in back, with air conditioning inside, to help keep your cone intact. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic, giving each customer full attention. Adding to that classic feel I mentioned, the girl behind the counter was one of my daughter's classmates. There were plenty of hand spun flavors to choose from, that I understand change from time to time, adding to the variety. During my visit, it was noted that a sugar free flavor was available, which I found impressive. I however like sugar, so I chose a more standard variety, the mint chocolate chip, in a waffle cone. The waffle cones come in three varieties that I observed: plain, rimmed with chocolate, and rimmed with chocolate and sprinkles a.k.a. shots or Jimmies, depending on where you're from. For my taste, I chose plain. They also had coffee; so, if it's cold and rainy when you pass through town, you still have a reason to stop by. My selection was creamy, sweet and literally dripping with flavor. As I pointed out, the inside of the shop was air conditioned; but me being me, I seemingly preferred to make a mess by eating outside. Of course, my daughter was able to avoid this, telling you that it was me, not the ice cream, that was messy. What I was most impressed with, however, was the chunk of chocolate I got with each bite. There was no skimping there. In conclusion, if your traveling south toward Macon, there's no reason to keep going to satisfy your sweet tooth. If headed north from Macon, keep driving until you reach city hall, then stop in at Cone Crazy. You'll be glad you did
