This is my first review of a retail store, due to the terrible experience today. My wife and I's anniversary is coming up, and I wanted to gift her a new fragrance. She is very particular - cold smoke, some spice but not too much, cold woods, etc. However, she really liked this one shampoo with a baobab fragrance, and the closest thing was Bal d'Afrique by Byredo - to my delight, it was in stock here! We let the customer service woman know what we were looking for, but she insisted we try more things. They did not fit the brief of what my wife likes. We stated multiple times, NO florals, NO heavy sweetness, NO musk & referenced her preferences. The customer service agents we saw didn't seem to understand fragrance, and only how to deal with the typical mall shopper's preferences & trying to upsell us on more expensive perfume. The last woman we saw at the Jones No 9 counter (presumably the manager) was very rude and abrasive. She demanded "what budget are you working with, seriously", almost sounding as if she was yelling at us and just wanted to close a deal. I told her I simply wanted to find something my wife would like, and she said "you have to have a budget". Then she presented us with a woody fragrance that my wife did not like. She then tells us that "there's nothing sweet in the there, only woods", meanwhile there was amber in there and we have studied a lot on different types of fragrances. The customer service agents were incompetent, since they don't actually know what notes we are looking for and overwhelming us with different scents and getting upset that we didn't like them. I know they make a commission, so it felt like they were trying to take their anger out on us for not wanting anything and insinuating that we weren't there to make a purchase. Due to the poor service, I would not want to buy anything from these people in the future and would go to another location. read more

Really nice store great customer service. I wish they had WOMEN PETITES. They have a great selection of merchandise beautiful clothes for men and women and a nice selection of merchandise for the home. So happy to have a store in Norwalk. I do not understand any bad reviews it leads me to believe the people leaving the review have a bad attitude. You get what you put out as far as people being nice. I do wish they would have a petite section I would shop more often because I have to have petites so for a lot of clothes not all I have to shop elsewhere. read more

I would like to complain about customer service representative ( she said, she was the manager), Michell . I tried to make a return of 500$ coat, but was not able to. All three customer service persons , including supervisor , showed luck of professionalism, luck of people skills, luck of knowledge and luck of willingness to help, to resolve, to solve. Michell was extremely rood, she did not want to listen to me, did not want to even understand , that I am a customer, and it is her job to "service", to help. If it's so easy to place an order, if it's so easy for Bloomingdale's to charge my card, why it's impossible to make a return of the order, that was not even unpacked and just got delivered a day before. This is a good store. It's smaller than some other Bloomingdale's locations, but they have a selection of things and you can order online. The store is beautiful and clean with nice wallpaper and carpet. It's at the SoNo Collection mall. You have to pay for parking. read more

Store is excellent and fabulous. This review is only because they did not update the voicemail. After two years it still says, "the store is closed and only open for curbside pickup". How exactly is there not one person in two years since Covid started that not one individual would have caught that? Other than that, love the selection. Bloomingdales is one of the few nice department stores that still exist in the US, a place to enjoy beautiful things in a beautiful environment. This is a sophisticated, clean, bright new store (less than 4 years old) around the corner in the new Sono Mall in Norwalk. It is the only Bloomingdales in Connecticut, one of only two high end department store chains (with Nordstrom) left in the state. Can a person enjoy just browsing fine things? Yes! A lovely store, with professional sales people and fine sales. Enjoy it while we can. read more

Horrible customer service. Don't trust the jewelry department. Managers: Heimi Dominguez and Taylor Scranton are terrible to work with and don't know what they are talking about. This store damaged my watch when they sent it out for repair. When I came to pick it up they said they would swap it for a new watch due to the damage that took place during the repair. Managers Heimi Dominguez and Taylor Scranton went back on their word and said they could no longer do the swap. I will never spend another penny at this store. I went in there for a gift for mothers day. I love the sono mall but this store is not good at all. The gift wrap for a medium sized purse was horrible, and i expected it to be much better after it taking 30 MINUTES TO WRAP A GOFT THAT I COULD DO BETTER ON. We had plans and we were late, thanks to this lazy worker who took fore to wrap it and it wasnt even good. read more

Went to purchase a handbag and during the entire process there was no sale associate around to answer questions, provide customer service, or even ring me up. I had to go to a jeweler counter to get help. Two weeks later I go to do a refund. I received several packages from family and friends as it was my birthday. I discard all the receipts, but need a return. I received an ugly dress, but don't know who it's from. I'm too embarrassed to ask. I connect with an online support agent, she says no problem just go to a store and get a credit. I drive from Trumbull to Norwalk only to be treated poorly by a cashier. She's rude and dismissive- only after telling her I contacted the online team (and have email proof), does she send me to customer service. Moving forward I will shop elsewhere or simply shop on the Bloomingdale's website. Do employees not realize brick and mortars are dying? Without customers walking in, they don't have jobs. read more

I found a great dress for a black tie wedding, the next day upstate- but it needed to be hemmed. It was a couple of hours to closing time and the staff was super helpful-usually staff is unattentive and are watching the clock. These women were amazing...From the Saleswoman, Natalina to the Seamstress, Eleanna. I was sure I'd have to find something else since the hem did not look that easy and the store was closing in 2 hours. Natalina called the Seamstress and said, 'Let's just see what Eleanna says...we might be able to hem this in time... I was not so sure, it was a straight hem, however the fabric was made up of hundreds of individulal flowers sewn onto the fabric. She said she might have it done that evening but I'd have to be back before the store closes. I 'moseyed' around the mall, and Voila! Eleanna finished had it ready that night! I tried to tip her but she turned it down... she said they're not allowed to accept tips. Horrible encounter today in the clothing section by a clothing manager, she was yelling across the entire store for my husband and I to "clean up after our dog" who is a trained service dog and certainly did not go to the bathroom- we told them to check the cameras before accusing people and embarrassing them. This woman should be fired for how inappropriate and rude she came across. I am a frequent shopper at this location and never have we been treated this way-let alone at 8 months pregnant being yelled at to pick up another dogs poop. Bought a tuxedo online from Bloomingdales for $900. Customer services at Bloomingdale says alterations are free for full price items. We bring the tux for alterations/fitting to the SoNo Collection Bloomies in Norwalk, CT. They said they charge for alterations. We couldn't leave the store without paying. They asked that we contact customer service, which we did. After numerous amount of emails going back & forth, they would only credit us $40. and not the $70. Customer service said if we were loyalist they would give us our full amount. We could of signed up when we bought the tux. I told them Nordstrom had the same suit but not our size, otherwise I wouldn't even come here. They have same policy, full price suit no charge for alterations. Bloomingdales willing to lose a customer for over $70. We would never shop there again. It's ashamed my friend has her wedding registry setup there, I'll let her know for sure. You will never get a person on the phone at the SoNo store in Norwalk, no matter what time of day and customer service 800 # will mislead you with information!! The tuxedo was not ready on date promised, we tried calling to confirm before heading down but since you can't get hold of anyone we had to go! We had to come back the following day and they assured us it would be finished. Again tried to call to confirm but no answer. Do they compensate for the parking fee and gas!
