The owner was very nice and welcoming when I arrived. I selected a polish color for my fingernails and wanted the same for my pedicure. Because one was the dip procedure (for my finger nails), the same color (I was told) wasn't available in the shellac for my toes. I was told that something very close to the dip color would be used for my toe nails. The nail technician assigned to me was very nice but not only did the color I originally selected not match, I had two other different colors. On the positive, I revisited the spa and spoke to the owner, he offered to redo my nails himself. I'll certainly give this spa another chance because of the willingness to "make it right". read more

i've been coming here for a couple years now so i think its time i rate my experience!! when i moved to the area this was the first nail salon i tried & i've been coming here ever since. everyone here is super friendly & professional, they greet me by name, & they always ask if you'd like anything to drink. they have a sign in system which earns you points towards your service, & their prices are super reasonable!! the facility is always clean, & the interior design is up to date & modern. they've done several remodels since i've been coming here & they continue to make improvements, along w/ decorating for every holiday which i love. they're always playing todays music top hits which makes it enjoyable to spend time in there. they've even done several raffle giveaways & i've left w/ random free gift bags &/or hand/foot masks a handful of times. i love this place!! read more

So I'll start with the pros... walked in and no appointment aa d they fit my husband and I both in on a Saturday morning. The place is very chic and clean and pleasing to thE eyes. The massage chairs aRe amaazing and adjusts to different body types. My bad experience comes from the quality of my nails a few days after my dip manicure. She did it so fast coating on the layers and now allowing it to dry in between. I see the flaws now as it sets in. I have some already cracked and some of tips are very gritty still. And all that to say the cost with my complimentary "free" manicure came significantly higher than my normal go to place. And my regular spot practices hygiene and doesn't use the same dip container for every customer - that sounds like an infection waiting to happen in my opinion. Probably won't return unless I needed the convenience of the walk in again. Standard pedicure starts at $30. My husband doesn't even get polish! read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had when getting my nails done. Frst of all, I showed him the design that I wanted, and he didn't even know how to do it, even though they are "known for their designs." Then I asked if he could do chrome instead, and when he went to go wipe off my nails, he sprayed me in the face with rubbing alcohol. Then when I went to pay, they told me it was going to be $80 plus I tipped him 12 which made it $92 for the worst nails I have ever gotten. This place is ridiculously overpriced. I have never spent $90+ on my nails in my whole life and I have gotten my nails done many times. First and last time coming here. read more

First time here and very disappointed in my experience. I made an appointment and still waited 15 minutes. Pedicure was very rushed after I declined to upgrade my pedicure. The tech didn't touch my cuticles and did not cut down my nails. I also went with a color that needs 3 coats and she only applied 1 coat. Also, forgot to mention she did not put my flip flops on before painting my nails. I let them dry for 10 minutes but still managed to smudge one of them after putting my flip flops back on. read more

Walk in, no appointment, told to pick a color, about 5 minutes wait. I have natural nails, tech tried to convince me to go with a Dip, anything but natural. Express my concern with dip and gels, they make my nails go paper thin. Mani, continued, without issues, however, when I asked for a better, cleaner cuticles work, she laughed. Nail polish was so thick, and would not stick to my nails. Tech finally got up and added a liquid to the bottle, continued with polish job. I asked why is this not covering, she said nothing. Toes are okay, the polish is thick, over the bottom on the nails, but okay. Today 3 days after, all of the polish is coming off in chunks, every nail. Disappointing, and will not go back read more

Ruby is excellent. She is at the Shelby location, that just opened a few months ago. She is nice and friendly. She takes pride in her work and took her time, to give my nails a beautiful and natural curve. Sometimes there dip colors don't match toe nail polish but that not her fault it's the maker ( opi, gellish etc) However, the shellac and regular polish matches pretty well. Give her a try. I came in 4 times and asked for acrylic fill ins or acrylic full set with REGULAR polish... But no- every single time I came here I was pressured to get "shellac" and lectured on how long it lasts and how good it is for my nails. By the 4th visit, they painted my nails like crap and kept bothering me when I was waiting for them to dry. If you don't want to use regular polish then don't offer it!!! SO NEWS FLASH! I've been getting my nails done for 20 years now and I'm well aware of what Shellac polish is. When I come in and ask for acrylics with regular polish just leave me alone and do what I ask for or I'll leave - which I did. I found a new place that doesn't pressure me or bother me to add on services I didn't want; and guess what, I get shellac polish on my acrylics now too thanks! Thanks for pushing my away to a better nail salon who genuinely takes care of me! :) read more

I've had issues twice with two different nail techs at this salon, both discovered after I went to another salon. First was a bacterial infection from not properly prepping for dip powder (was told she did not remove all of the powder before applying new). The second time was an over-filing of the nail plate when removing dip powder. Needless to say I will not be back. read more

so this was my second time here, Kevin was the tech and it was to fix the shellac the started chipping after 2 days after I got my nails done, well I wasn't able to come in right due to working midnight's so they gave me $15 off for a fill and shellac so $20 well I told him not to make them skinny and i wanted square round my thumbs don't match, the shellac has bubble indents he got shellac on quite a bit of my skin and didn't remove it he electric filed three times over my skin to the point it was bleeding, then cut the skin off with clippers , mind you there was blood on it and he put it back in the holder won't be going back, not to mention major health code violation you don't know if someone has aids, HIV, hepatitis, sepsis that's messed up my nails don't match, I have cuts on my skin, and I'll be contacting the health department I'm a health care professional and was appalled read more

I went here once and I don't think that ill be back. My first impression of this place wasnt that great because the guy at the front desk wasnt very friendly and I personally don't like when nail salons have one big circle of nail techs instead of individual stations. It makes me feel like im just a number instead of an actual person getting their nails done, you know? The guy who did my nails was cool & super professional which is why I even gave this place 2 stars. I felt bad tho because when I got there, this lady was RAVING about this place and then the nail techs ended up moving her around THREE times during my appointment with no explaination and I could tell she was getting pissed. I thought that was extremely unprofessional and that is the reason why I will not come back to this salon. Literally one nail tech just walked away from her and then another one came over to do her nails and me and her were both looking at eachother like "are they serious"? It was very awkward to witness, let alone be in her shoes. read more

I have always wanted to know what was inside that building/house especially with that gorgeous curved front door. Passed it so many times on University. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.

After taking a break from nail treatments since March 2024 to let my nails recover from dip damage, I recently decided to treat myself to a gel manicure. I had a dramatic falling out with my previous nail salon, Cosi Bella, so I researched alternatives and decided to give this place a try. When I arrived for my appointment, the greeting was less than welcoming--they seemed puzzled about my booking and directed me to a nail tech who was lounging on the couch, engrossed in their phone. This was a far cry from the more polished experiences I had while living in NYC, where I'd get gel manicures every other week. Here's my breakdown of the experience: (1) The nail tech rushed the service, which was disappointing. (2) When I commented, "Wow, that was fast," their response was, "Gel manicure doesn't take that long." It felt dismissive. (3) Affordability: The price was cheap, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. (4) The nails weren't shaped evenly, which detracted from the final look. (5) Positive: The gel polish has stayed on well for over two weeks, so that's a win. (6) The nail tech was friendly and engaging, despite the rushed service. (7) The salon itself is beautiful and vibrant, creating a welcoming atmosphere. While my experience was underwhelming, I know someone who loves this place, and her nails always look fabulous. Based on that and the salon's potential, I'd consider returning to try one of their star nail techs. I'm hoping for a more relaxed and detail-oriented service next time. read more

Had an appointment with Andy, some girl walked in saying she wanted appointment with him so he said will you try Tammy I said sure. She put tips on my broken nails and I literally asked her about five times to refile to make it more narrow to my liking. She started having an attitude with me rushed my whole appointment. Never going there again! Soooo rude! read more

Lily Nails

First off, I'll state that I've been coming to Tina (owner) of Lily Nails for around 15 years. The…read morelast few months I've gone there, I've noticed a significant decline in both customer service as well as the service itself and today was the cherry on top! The business has been overbooking and staying open until 11pm, to compensate for the time they lost due to covid. There is nothing wrong with trying to make money for lost time unless it interferes with the quality of your service - which it has. It's so busy in there, that they double and triple book you with a nail tech. So you'll be seated and the employee will be working on you and a couple others at the same time, which is unprofessional. Today for example, I came in for a manicure. Tina had another customer seated right next to an empty spot and called me over to begin simultaneously working on me. She cut my nails unevenly, barely filed them, got a bowl and "soaked" one hand for all of 30 seconds, took it out and placed the other one in for 30 seconds as well. She then put a drop of lotion, rubbed - not massaged, and said all done go wash your hands. To which I was confused as to how that constituted as a manicure. So I spoke up and said something to her. Tina then began to scream in front of the whole nail salon to where all eyes were turned on to our conversation. I explain to her calmly that what she did was not considered a manicure and it wasn't about the $22, it was the principle that she spent less than five minutes working on my nails and wanted to charge me $22 so she can work on her next customer. Her husband then had to calm her down and tell her to walk away and stop yelling because he was embarrassed that she was causing a scene. For being a long-time customer, I should've never had to experience that. As someone who pays and has no issue paying, I want to pay for a service of high-quality not a quick in and out manicure that honestly lasted less than 5 minutes. As I stated above, all Lily Nails is trying to do right now is compensate for last time and make up money that they lost during the shut down. So they're just putting customers in and out as quick as they can, with no quality to their work. In the Picture you can see the poor quality of work in the cuticle still along my nail bed. There are plenty of nail salons in the area that may be slightly higher in price but you get what you pay for. I will never support Tina/Lily Nails again and don't recommend.

They are friendly and kind, I like how they always say if you are not happy with it please come…read moreback. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the lack of enforcement of covid public health guidelines. I would not go back unless that is changed because I did not feel comfortable sitting indoors for a long period of time with people (both customers and workers) not wearing masks properly (below there nostrils) and no enforcement of masks to customers. I truly hope more education/enforcement/signs are enforced so that we can go back to normal and feel safe doing normal activities again.
