I made my appointment with LAURA RIVERS and I was not disappointed! She was able to fit me in last minute. My hair was done previously and I was really unhappy with it. It was brassy and orange. Laura did a consultation first and I showed her what I wanted. She said she could get the orange out but the bright blonde would take an additional session or two. What she gave me was even better than the picture and way better than I thought I wanted. Plus she said it will continue to lighten with each shampoo. Laura was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She was quick too! At the other salon, I was there for 5.5 hours and it didn't come out right. Laura had me in and out in 3 hours! I felt heard and respected. Horrible experience overall. I went a week before my appointment for a consultation and was quoted $175 for what I wanted. After my appointment I knew I was going to be charged extra for a cut but I was charged $200 more than originally quoted. When I asked why, the owner who did my hair just said the full color, highlights, and cut are all separate charges. Not once was I told that he was going to do highlights because I never asked for it. My budget was under $200 and ended up paying almost $400 and I left the salon in tears. Along with this, he was EXTREMELY rough when massaging my scalp and my very expensive diamond earring was lost in the process. I quite literally feel robbed and wouldn't recommend it this place to anyone unless they want a similar experience. read more

Finally a curly hair stylist in the Napa area! I honestly chose this salon based on the fact they're open on my days off. I easily made an appointment on their website and chose Amber as my stylist based on the fact she had a photo next to her name. Come to find when I got there she was a fellow curly hair girl and actually trained in the devacut aka "curly hair cut". I literally felt like I struck gold since 1.5 years ago there weren't any stylists in the area trained in the cut. If there's one thing I've struggled with as a curly hair girl, it's finding a stylist who really understands what being a natural curly hair girl is like. I visited Bloom Salon for the first time about a month ago after my long time stylist Jessica relocated salons. I drive from Pacifica all the way to Napa to see the best stylist in all the lands. Bloom is a gorgeous salon. I love how bright and open it is. It's very conveniently located right in downtown Napa. There's plenty of parking nearby which is a huge plus. Also a Starbucks just a block away. I love grabbing a coffee before getting in the chair. Jessica has been doing my hair consistently for over 6 years and she's the only person I will trust to touch my hair. I have extremely thick and corse hair so every color visit would be challenging for any colorist. My hair is naturally almost black dark brown and Jessica has been able to accomplish absolute wonders with my hair. She's taken my hair to almost platinum blond with very minimal damage. She's chopped over a foot of length in a single visit before. She's great at understanding what look I'm going for and isn't afraid to go for it. Have had mine cut by just about all the girls and guy in the salon and it's like their all on the same page because it looks as great as each one does it from the other. When I got there I just wanted ask a few questions about a hair cut/color I wanted so that I could schedule an appointment with Amber. When I walked in, I was greeted by an older gentleman. I explained the hair color I wanted to go for (light ginger color from virgin brown hair) and I was told "That's going to be hard" as he just looked at me. He then said he would talk to the stylist I wanted to get these services done with, he informed me she would be out in 5 minutes. After waiting 15 mins I noticed that the stylist I was going to consult with had already started her next appointment. I then explained the situation to the young lady at the front desk. She then went to talk to the stylist. She returned and took my information and I was told that Amber would send me a text and if I would send her a picture of what I wanted and my natural hair then she could give me a proper estimate (Which I was not upset at due to her obviously having a busy schedule). After speaking with their stylist and booking an appointment, I was cancelled 15 mins later with no explanation as to why. I checked my credit card to ensure I was charged, when I noticed a small charge on my card. I called the salon who were professional and resolved that matter. They also recommend their second stylist for updos. I reached out to her who quickly stated she couldn't do it again with no reasoning why. Got my haircut on Friday at 11:00AM. I loved the salon, it was clean and had large windows, making it feel airy and open. My hairstylist's name was Megan I think? and she was chatty without being too chatty, if you know what I mean.
