I made an appointment back in February with Tricia Young (salon owner) for a balayage. I'm an Asian woman with very dark hair looking to go blonde. I understand it's not easy, but it is possible because I've done it myself. My appointment was set in February for July 24th. A week prior to my appointment I called to come in for a consultation due to the difficulty of my request. I didn't want to waste my time nor the hairdresser's time. I never received a call back and when I came to the salon I was very upfront about wanting transparency. Throughout trying to explain what I wanted she belittled and patronized me for not knowing the correct terminology. She then tried blaming me for not knowing how to explain my request even though I showed her multiple examples of dark roots blonde balayage. When I finally asked her what she could do for me her response was to make my hair darker because she didn't want to touch the preexisting blonde on my hair. So after waiting 5 months, calling a week in advance (without being called back) to discuss the process and taking 5 hours off of work (unpaid / $300) I walked away very disappointed. I guess when you're a salon owner you can treat your customers any way you like. Asians beware, this is a white-only serving salon. They clearly are not trained on Asian hair. read more

No matter who your stylist is they are all very welcoming and compliment your style. They offer water if you need. The stylist are all a community in there. Within moments got a response, got images of hair she's done, got in with her immediately on my schedule and at such a fair rate. Amazing experience! The girl at the front desk with the short red hair was polite. I wasnt greeted when I first walked in, but to me that isnt a huge deal. My stylist was Kaila! I highly recommend her. I showed her photos of what I was looking for. Instead of just "going at it" and allowing me to ruin my hair, she explained my hair type and what would look/work best for it. Im very glad I listened. She trimmed me up, lightened the weight of my bangs, and gave me a beautiful sun kissed bayalage! I have been to Brandy many times and never had a problem. Today I was dissatisfied with my hair and she wasn't willing to make it right unless I was willing to pay her more. I am thoroughly disappointed and unfortunately will not return to her. I feel like she knew that I wasn't going to get what I was looking for and she failed to tell me until she was done with the process. My appt was at 2:45, I arrived early and she was almost 25 minutes late to get me then asked if my appt was at 3 and told me she didn't know I was there. The girls at the desk went back twice after asking me who I was waiting for. Soooooooo? I'll be finding another stylist. The salon seems great I just wouldn't want someone who wasn't willing to take ownership for an error and make it right to do my hair again. I was hesitant to write a review of my experience at this salon, but after some thought, I decided something needed to be said. The haircut I received here was fine, although it looked literally nothing like the picture I brought in, but throughout my appointment I was subjected by my stylist to very rude comments about my appearance. Specifically, that I was very old. I am 35. The stylist appeared to be in her late 20s or early 30s, although personally I'm not in the habit of speculating on age, certainly not vocally. She repeatedly referred to women of "my generation," repeatedly expressed surprise that my hair wasn't all gray, and asked if my husband still had any hair. She also indicated I was old enough to be her parent. I'm not sure how I, at 35, could have a child that is in their late 20s or early 30s. There is no part of me that believes my husband, who is 3 years older than me, would have been subjected to these types of comments during a haircut. When you go to get a haircut you expect to leave feeling good about yourself. You don't expect to have someone attack your appearance completely unprovoked. I don't know who benefits from ascribing to the view that women are "really old" at 35, but it is certainly not the clientele of this salon who are, for the most part, women. read more

First off, the chair at the shampoo bowl was actually comfortable, and the shampoo like a scalp massage. Then she took lots of time to cut my hair carefully, adding details where I wanted them, then styling my hair, which looks GORGEOUS! The salon has a wonderful vibe - upbeat, hip and creative without being pretentious. The work areas are clean. The receptionists are polite and friendly. I used a Living Social coupon for $49 that included full color, or partial highlight, style and cut. On paper it seemed like a deal, but nothing was done to my liking. The stylist MINDI chopped my nice bob so bad, that it didn't look like a bob anymore when I left. My hair now looks very choppy and uneven. She totally mishaped the bob. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do but to let it grow out. And I wouldn't dare let her try to "fix" it, when she apparently does not know how to cut swingbobs. I also paid even more money to have a lowlight put in my hair, along with highlight. I wanted platinum highlights and ended up with an overall lemon yellow color. It was so bad, that she suggested adding a toner. It's not a deal, when you have to pay even more to try and get something fixed somewhere else, because she has no idea what she is doing.
