If I could give 0 stars, I would. I've been coming to Bloom for years and, while I've had minor issues in the past, this last experience was my final straw. About a month ago, I came in for a pedicure and noticed that one of my toenails looked damaged. I pointed it out to the technician, who assured me it was fine and that they could still complete the pedicure. I even asked another pedicurist nearby for a second opinion, and she agreed. Since they were the professionals, I trusted their judgment. Less than a week later, my big toenail completely came off--the same day I was standing in a beach wedding. I immediately scheduled an appointment to come back in. Within 24 hours of that nail coming off, my other big toenail also detached and had a pocket of pus underneath. At that point, I called a podiatrist and was seen right away. During my appointment, she removed a significant amount of dead skin from the nail bed and explained that it appeared to have been repeatedly pushed underneath the nail during pedicures over at least the past year. She also expressed concern that non-sterile instruments may have contributed to the infection beneath my nail. I returned to Bloom on May 27 to have the gel polish removed from my remaining toes, my full-set pedicure removed, and a clear-coat manicure applied. From the moment I arrived, I was treated poorly. The technician who initially assisted me told me I couldn't have order a drink, because I wasn't a "real customer" since I wasn't receiving a "real service." When I disagreed, her attitude noticeably changed. She spent the remainder of my appointment ignoring me, talking about me to other employees, and even calling coworkers over to look at and laugh about my damaged nail beds. She was also rough while working on me, repeatedly grabbing my injured toes after I explained what had happened, told her it was painful, and asked her to stop. After my toes were finished, I moved to another station for my manicure. During that appointment, a male employee seated one bench away spent the entire time blowing kisses at me, winking, and whistling in my direction. I was so uncomfortable that I looked directly at the security camera at approximately 3:39 p.m. in an attempt to signal that something was wrong. When I brought my concerns to someone at the front desk, I was essentially told that their service was good. I later called again to report the inappropriate behavior and was told that their employees "wouldn't behave like that." I am disgusted and deeply disappointed by how this situation was handled. My medical concerns were dismissed, my pain was ignored, and I was made to feel humiliated and uncomfortable while seeking help after a serious complication. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer. I strongly do not recommend Bloom. After years of loyalty, I will never be returning. read more

The only reason they get two stars is because the people who did my nails were so so so kind. Today was my first day coming here and I will never be back. I came in for Mother's Day I called in advance asked the price for me and toddler. She's 2. They told me $22 for pedicure and $8 to paint her nails. It was her first time getting her nails done I wanted it to be special since they have the child seats. It was really cute and the woman who did her nails was sooo sweet she even helped my daughter drink her water by holding the water bottle for her so she didn't spill it. The prices were astronomical that is the only reason I won't be back. I received a pedicure and manicure with gel polish not even acrylic nails. My toddler got a child's pedicure and her nails painted with gel polish. Her pedicure was $22 for them to put gel polish on a two year old cost $32. The total cost was $162 without tip! For me to get gel polish they charged me an extra $15 but my two year old $32 how does that even make sense?? Anywho beware they just make stuff up to up charge like crazy and won't tell you until you get to the register. read more

I went in for a manicure. I was in the seat for 17 minutes. And I was done- it felt completely rushed. 24 hrs later I already have chipping on my nails, left there with lacquer all over my skin. They were busy busy day before Mother's Day. We came here in as a group of 3. We did set up an appt 2 weeks prior. We opted for opulence mani and pedi (2 gel, 1 regular). Unfortunately we only received the opulence pedi and ended up receiving a classic manicure (2 regular mani and 1 full set w/ gel). Our bill was $370+ (for all 3, not including tip) and unfortunately we are still trying to figure out why the cost was incorrect. I believe they charged us for a lip wax which 1 was opted for it but never received it as well as possibly charged for 3 opulence manis. It's a beautiful salon, I feel like they should have had more help upfront and been a bit more organized when it came to payments. read more

I truly don't know why I continue to give Bloom my business. Over a week ago, we set a reservation for 4 adult pedicures & 2 kid pedis/manis. This was specifically noted in the reservation, as we were celebrating our 2 girls heading off to Kindergarten. Our reservation was at 3:30pm. We were finally taken to our chairs around 4pm, and the first of our entire party of 6 was tended to at 4:15pm. When we walked to the back, the 4 adults were on the far right side and our two 5 year olds were on their far right side, facing us (essentially complete opposite sides). It was extremely irritating that we had booked these services on one reservation to be somewhat near each other. Our 5 year olds were so far away from us that we couldn't even hear anything they were asking us. Of the 4 adults, the water for my pedicure was the only one that had even remotely warm water. My mom even asked a staff member if they could make her water at least room temp, yet no one came to fix it 20 minutes later. Our 5 year olds were also given cans of Sprite, not knowing how to open a can. We would've asked for assistance for them (far across the room, since we weren't seated even remotely together), however it was dropped off and not a single staff member came back for another 10 minutes. I was then told the color I requested was out. No big deal, I wasn't in dire need of a pedicure. Awhile later, a staff member mentioned they had the color both myself and my mom had requested. I said I'd be fine now doing just a polish change. Someone then came to my chair and handed Me the book of services again. I reiterated that I wanted just a gel polish change on my toes. The woman in front of me pointed to a more expensive pedicure selection and told me that that's what my mom was getting, therefore I needed the same. I pushed back stating I only needed a gel polish change, however she would not accept this answer. After a VERY quick "rub" on my feet, my total (without tip) was $123. My FIVE YEAR OLD cost $22 for her "kid pedi", $16 for her "kid mani" (they literally only painted her nails), I was charged an extra $20 for a FIVE YEAR OLD to have gel polish. And realistically, it'll last as long as standard polish. I completely understand and accept the fact that gel polish is more expensive. But $20 for a 5 year old with tiny nails is ridiculous. The lady, who I assume owns the salon, couldn't have appeared to be more irritated. To the point where none of us wanted to mention the cold water that everyone else had been soaking in for over 30min despite repeated mentions of cold water. I can't even go into detail about the chaotic drink situation. Long story short, I never got a water that I requested when asked if I wanted anything to drink. So much more that Yelp won't approve. Today my guy was busy so I had a new one who rushed so fast through my dip that he didn't even listen that I didn't want a tip on my thumb that had a broken nail. Gets upset he now has made it too thick and is frustrated I needed it soaked off. They only asked me to get dip today because 12 days ago I was in for a gel manicure that chipped off and looked awful within 5 days. Now I leave with a 46 dollar dip set that has a thumb nail glued to the skin. So frustrating that customer service is trash now days. I took a friend for a manicure for her birthday. They refused to do anything but clear and white on her French tip (I've seen pink and it looked a lot better than clear). Last year I was offered a cocktail and this year I was not offered anything - I had to ask for water. My manicurist told me I didn't spend enough on my manicure even though I paid for two regular ones (one for me and one for my friend totaling $70 plus tip). She handed me my bill before she painted my nails so I added a $10 tip (up to $80 now and no offer of a drink of any kind) hoping I would get a good job. When my nails needed to dry, I was left with a small fan blowing on my hands - no goodbye, have a nice day, thank you, etc. My manicurist just left and was nowhere in sight. When the time on the fan expired, I had to restart the fan myself - still no manicurist. After restarting the fan 2 times, I was ready to leave and tried to find my manicurist. She was already in the process of giving a pedicure to another customer. It is now the next day and my polish is starting to wear off and is not smooth. This was definitely the worst manicure I have ever had. I went there last year and had a great experience but I won't be going back. I appreciate that I got in quickly (hence the 2 stars), but my nails look like trash and the tech barely looked at them. I know my nails are short, thumbnail especially, but I've had them done successfully plenty of other places. They are just interested in moving on to the next customer with no concern for the quality of their work. Maybe some techs are more conscientious, but mine was not. Did not have a good experience. I made an appointment for a pedicure and manicure with a specific person that had been recommended to me. I told her about the recommendation when I went in and the first half of the pedicure was great. Then one of her regulars came in and asked how much longer she would be. She said 20 minutes (for another half of a pedicure and a whole manicure?) and the regular was clearly annoyed that she would have to wait. Rest of the pedicure was rushed and the manicure was just bad. Didn't do anything to my cuticles at all. Picked a glitter polish and she randomly selected a solid color to go under it and then the glitter had weird gaps in it. I emailed the owner to express my frustration and he was very nice and said that I could come back in and they would do everything they could to make me happy. I came back in the next day and had three different workers tell me "This looks good. There are no mistakes" and then rush through adding another layer of glitter. So I drove there twice for them to be rude and spend 3 minutes "fixing" my nails, while they pushed back on my requests the entire time. 5 days later it started peeling off. Went in Monday for a dip manicure. Not very good, wrong shape after asking three times, dip was bumpy, uneven, and messy. Was not able to stay to get fixed by someone else that day as I had to return to work. Did mention at time of check out the quality was poor. Returned next day to have fixed. Explained the situation, They were very accommodating and apologetic and did indeed give a redo of the dip manicure. First time I have ever had more that top notch service. How I was treated to correct the problem was very professional. Mistakes happen and we are all human. Will continue to be my go to nail salon in Lee's Summit. read more

My gel manicure did not hold up as well as other gel manicures I've gotten in the past at other places. Staff is hit or miss. I have a hard time at places that don't give you a heads up about price differences until after the service is done. My feet are still rough as there was no time spent on trying to soften them. even though we had 14+ in our party, we were told we didn't qualify for a group rate discount.
