I couldn't wait to go have my nails done with a couple of girlfriends and I hadn't been here before. They had a menu of things to choose so I just picked a regular because I usually just get a regular one at the normal place that I go to in Plainville, Mass. The girl that I had, her name was LANI, she did a terrible job! She took all of 10 minutes and when I said to her,"can you please help me with some of those calluses" she said it would be another $10. Her technique and was bad. Everything about the pedicure was bad. I leftThere feeling like I wasted my money. I did talk to a man that told me he was the manager and he was sweet, but didn't offer me anything. My girlfriend'sgirlfriend that came with me, they received one of the more expensive pedicures and apparently they only give good service to people that get the more expensive pedicures. I will never come here again. I will definitely go back to my place in Plainville and get a top notch pedicure for the exact amount of money that I've paid here and got poor service. read more

I have been there for a regular pedi a few times. it was wo. Today I went for the same thing and was very disappointed. The girl said my feet are too dry so she couldn't cut my toenails. I go to a foot doctor every three months sometimes two months. He cuts my nails and whatever else I need. My feet are dry but they use to be a lot worse and I could still get them done. it would last about 25 minutes. Today she rub my legs for about two minutes and put polish on me and it took a total of 10minutes. Charged me $35. I feel bad because the guy there I think is owner is very nice but I won't go back. I usually have a good experience when I come here but that wasn't really the case on Saturday. I paid $90 for a classic manicure and a pedicure that came with a 20 minute massage. I chose that pedicure specifically for the foot massage as I am pregnant and on my feet all day. Annie didn't do a great job with my pedicure. She didn't clean my toe nails the way they have in the past and her foot massage was mediocre. She basically just rubbed the lotion into my legs until it was time for the hot stones. My manicure was completely rushed. No hand massage as they have done in the past when moisturizing the lotion into your hands and no trimming of the dead skin around or pushing cuticles. I usually have really great service there and have been disappointed until this last visit. The guy at the counter was awesome where he fixed my two toe nails that needed an extra coat and my thumb i accidentally smudged. Not sure if I will be back again but if I do I will make sure that annie doesn't complete any of my services. read more

Personally, this is not a good day at this spot, and I will not be returning to get my nails done again. Me, my mother and my sister were also rushed out of the place. We had gotten there at 10:10 and between the three of us, they had us out the door before 11 so it felt very rushed. The lady who is doing my nails just decided to give me a back massage when it was done, which has never happened before in this place, and she had like pounded on my back, and the entire time she was moving my arms and was overall being very aggressive with my hands, to say the least. She had me bending in uncomfortable positions, and I never got the shape that I truly wanted, I'm not a confrontational person so telling them that she was hurting me was not something that I could do. The entire service truly just felt rushed and it was expensive for basically no reason. The lady doing my nails had also never spoken a word to me besides "okay" when referring to her application of the gel X to put it into the dryer. I had hit one of my fingers on the lamp and told her I had knocked it and instead of fixing it at all she just filed down the nail and there's still a bump on it. I set up a yelp account just to give this place a shitty review. First of all, my friend is getting married on Saturday so she set up an appointment two weeks ago for 7 people. They said the appointment was last week and nobody showed up. Strike one. Second of all, the bride was choosing her nail color and she was apparently taking too long. A woman rudely asked how long she would have to wait for a decision. Strike two. Third of all, they put the bride at a pedicure station far away from everyone else. When I went over to hang out WITH THE BRIDE, I sat in an empty pedicure chair next to her and the woman said "You should really go over there if you want your nails to dry." as she pointed to the drying station far away from where we were. I will sit wherever I want, thank you very much. Maybe don't put the bride by herself when we are here to be with her. Strike 3. And I will tell you what, my nails are still not fucking dry. It's currently 11pm and I had my nails done at 5pm. She put a base coat, three thick coats of gloppy, pale pink polish and a top coat. I had a full manicure and just a polish change on my toes. The manicure looks better than my toes but that's not a compliment by any means. I had a dark blue on my toenails and had her remove that to paint them the pale pink to match my nails. She didn't even remove all of the blue. Granted a dark color is hard to remove sometimes but she half-assed it and tried to cover it up with thick, gloppy layers of PALE PINK polish. That's not going to cover anything up. I didn't even bother complaining because I knew I'd get an attitude thrown at me and it was beyond fixing at that point anyway. The mother of the bride had her toenails painted. When the woman thought they were dry enough, she walked by and aggressively ripped the paper towel from between her toes. Like, why? Why do they even use paper towel to separate toes? Because it's cheap? The prices are high so they should be able to afford real toe separators. Oh and my purse wasn't supposed to be on a chair that was not being used by anyone and wasn't going to be used by anyone. The place was practically empty so what's the issue? Bottom line, it was not a good experience in the slightest. They were super bitchy and we could tell the employees were talking about us even though we couldn't understand them. I apologize for the closeups of my toenails but wtf. They look like a little kid painted them and used a whole bottle of polish. Listen, I know I have weird, deep set toenails that are tricky to paint but I've never had polish seep down into the sides and create puddles of polish. I've had other pedicures that have looked flawless so I'm gonna go with it not being my weird toenail's fault. read more

5/14 My sister and I made an appointment to get a dip manicure together. They started with my sister while I sat next to her for 30+ minutes waiting for someone to start mine. All I can say is that this was the worst manicure we have ever gotten. We originally came here because the places we normally go to were booked up so we decided to give this place a try. Not only is our nails overfiled on the sides giving it a wonky shape but the dip in itself and the products used appears to be cheap/poor quality. My sister's French is uneven and they even used gel on top of the dip when they were having issues with the dip drying (which has never happened before). Her nails are bumpy and uneven. My dip broke the very next day as they over filed my nails and applied the thinnest layer of dip I had ever gotten. Expensive and completely unworth it. Never going back.. 5/19 update: another nail has completely split in half and is ready to fall off. 5/21 four of my nails completely broke. Never in my life have I had any of my nails break like this after a week of getting dip. Insane... read more

First time at this nail salon. I got dip powder and was charged $55!! everywhere else I go has charged me $40. The nail tech had a horrible attitude and rushed doing my nails. one of the nails had a smudge and instead of fixing it she just continued to put the clear gel coat on it and had to stop her and ask her if she can redo it. she just rushed redoing that nail and even cut me. 4 days later and my nails are already chipping! never had dip powder chip before. Had a pedicure and gel manicure. When it came to buffing my nails, she literally just touched each toe with the buffer - took all of ten seconds. My toe nail polish chipped off two days later. The gel manicure was worse. I asked for square shaped with rounded at the ends. Each nail was a different shape and was noticeable by others. I was leaving town the next day and spent my vacation with chipped toes and fingers that looked like a five year old did it. For what they charge, I expected better. read more

Omg....pay the $12 for the extra 10 minutes of neck / shoulder massage! So good! Wanted to nap after! This was my first time visiting this nail salon that came highly recommended by my BFF. I wanted to get a mani / pedi and was surprised at all of the gel nail colors they had to choose from. We were brought to the pedicure area first and were seated in the chairs within minutes of entering the salon. The store itself looks brand new / well maintained, was clean and had very comfy and high tech massage chairs for pedicures. I opted for the honeymoon pedicure and really enjoyed the leg massage and the paraffin treatment used on the heels. I would definitely get this service again, I just wish they used a pumice stone or something other than just a rasp on problem dead skin areas like the heel and side of the big toes (this is really my only negative about this place - even though I realize the instruments some other salons use aren't even actually supposed to be used for health reasons) The manicure was great! I opted for gel and the girl did a nice job trimming and filing my natural nails before applying the gel polish. While getting my nails done a gentleman came over and asked if I would like a shoulder massage - of course I said yes! I also opted for a paraffin treatment which left my hands silky smooth! A few minutes later the gentleman asked if I wanted him to continue the massage for 10 minutes for a fee - um, yes please!! I swear I could have fell asleep sitting up if it weren't for the nails being worked on in the mean time! I would definitely get a massage here again - I just think next time I would have him hold off until I was done with my nails so it would be even more relaxing. Seeing as how I was happy with all of the services rendered this far - I decided to check out the waxing room. I was brought to an immaculately clean room and instructed to lay down. The woman who did my eyebrows and upper lip was very detailed and took her time. She asked permission before cleaning up a few strays with the tweezers. I did not feel rushed which I really appreciate when it comes to my face! All in all - this place is great! Yes, it is slightly more expensive than some of the places I have gone to around my home but the clean atmosphere and awesome services - made it worth every penny. My toe nail polish is very lumpy,clumpy and uneven. There's polish still on my skin. Im considering going somewhere else to have it removed and a new polish placed because this is terrible. It's been a while since I've been to VIP, the service used to be excellent pre COVID! Since when do we not push cuticles down and trim when getting a gel mani/pedi and charge $105 for a basic foot soak, no hand soak and really no massage to either my feet or hands. I'd give zero stars if I could. I do not have problem feet. I'm in excellent health and went in there just wanting a relaxing experience and some polish on my toes. From the second "Annie" touched my feet I said ouch so many times I lost count. Lots of pedicures in my past and this is the first time I've left somewhere wanting to call the health department and licensing board. Whatever solution they are using gave me a chemical burn (I don't have sensitive skin). The "nail tech" (id like to see the paperwork) was heavy handedly using sharp instruments on my toes and at one point I looked down and seen a little blood on my toe. The hot towel burned my calf and she scraped my heels so much that she caused an actual open wound. So just to reiterate: I went there yesterday with great feet just wanting a soak, a massage, and some polish...I left with a chemical burn to my feet, a thermal burn on my calf, a sharps injury to a toe, and an open wound on my heel. And I paid $80. Awesome. I'm including photos. The bottoms of my feet look like prunes! My pedicure was 18 hours ago. read more

Disappointed. I went here on Labor Day because my normal place was closed and it was the only place open for miles. I honestly wasn't expecting much, I just needed to get my nails done last minute. They charge $30 for a gel manicure instead of $25 like other places who have done a much much better job. He didn't have my nails soak in water to do a better job with my cuticles and the NEXT DAY my nails are already peeling BADLY. Absolutely fabulous pedicure. Jessica is wonderful. I chose the VIP pedicure for $75, but it was well worth it. It included fruit acids that gently remove callouses, butter cream with Shea butter. Hot oil wrapC parr's fun and hot stone oil massage for twenty five minutes. It includes a 10 minute neck and shoulder massage. Amazing! This took one hour and thirty minutes and exactly what I wanted a non-rushed pedi. Soooo so awesome. Absolutely blown away with the quality of service I received. I got the Honeymoon Pedicure and John really took his time with each step in the pedicure. The massage was fantastic and very relaxing. Establishment was very clean and great vibe. My co worker was extremely happy with her nails as well! This visit was my first time at this particular location, I'm usually a customer at the North Providence salon. The appearance of both locations is clean, welcoming and hip, which is why I'm a returning customer; despite their above average prices. However, after this visit, I am not sure if I will be going back to either location. Let me start off by saying that I am always an appointment maker, I never rely on a walk-in. At my 6:30 pm appointment for a pedicure and shellac manicure, I was not seated until 6:50 pm, something that I had never experienced at VIP before. When 7:15 pm rolled around, someone came over to begin my pedicure. Typically, I always spring for the "Honeymoon Spa Package" that includes a 10 minute foot massage and callus remover. However, the worker guilted me into not getting that package because it was too late in the evening. She breathed a sigh of relief when I agreed to settle for the classic pedicure. The manicurist then informed me three, yes, three times that I should get the callus remover; three times I answered, "yes, I know. That was my original plan." As the pedicure continued, the worker asked what scented oil I would prefer. I replied "lemon, please." Then, without any hesitation, the worker rolled their eyes and said "um, we do not have lemon." I apologized for the mistake, explaining that lemon is my go-to scent at the North Providence location. However, on my way out the door I caught a glimpse of the lemon oil, and couldn't help but chuckle to myself. In conclusion, VIP Nails has two gorgeous locations. But keep in mind, looks can be deceiving. I highly recommend attending one of their salons if you are interested in paying above average prices for substandard services. Correct me if I'm wrong, but why would you accept 6:30 pm appointments if you can't meet the expectations you set forth. A customer is a customer, no matter if their appointment is at 10 am or 6 pm. read more

However, The first time the nail technician buffed my cuticles until they bled and informed me I was 'sensitive'...upon returning home I noticed there was a bubble in the dip manicure that had ruptured. The second time I figured I'd give it another shot as it's conveniently located near my home, and had a different nail technician. She seemed utterly annoyed that I was in her chair, and kept aggressively flipping my hands over during my manicure. I felt like an inconvenience. Again after spending over fifty dollars, at end of my appointment I noticed she never brought the top coat all the way down. I went back the following day to another tech whom rather than fix the entire manicure picked which nails she thought needed to be fixed. One week later, even the nails that were repaired, the top coat lifted up over half of every nail. Don't go here unless you like sub-par service and a short-lived dip mani. read more

The person that did my pedicure left the hot stones wrapped around my feet and ankle for too long- as she walked away to text in the corner. Well...I used to love this place. I got the Honeymoon Pedicure ($45 and a $10 tip) which is pretty pricey compared to other salons. My toes (big toe and a few smaller toes) chipped 2 1/2 days after. I went in and they "fixed" it. Instead of re-painting the nails they basically patched it up. Now two days later it's all chipped up again. Plus I realized the "Fixed" toes are a different color from the original polish color. Waste of money and time. read more

I figured maybe it was because I had them on my natural nails and I'd give them a second try so I went back a few weeks later for a gel color on a set of acrylics. A full set with gel color was $60. I thought that was a bit much as I get it for $35-$40 at other salons. The nails looked nice, but it took SO long! A week later, the gel polish started chipping off. This is my third time at this salon. The first 2 experiences were fine but the polish on my pedicure chipped within a week. My friend said hers were fine so I attributed it to my bad luck. I went back with my daughter last night for a manicure. First time I had dip here. They must have been short staffed so for both of us to get dip manicure took just over 2 hours. I think if they are aware that is the length of time they really should have warned us in advance. The price was $10 higher than salons in the area ( $40 for dip and $50 for dip with tip) and frankly the quality isn't that great. I walked in and was immediately greeted, plus. I was told it would be a 10-15 minute wait, no problem as long as it wasn't longer since I had other things to do. I am a Cosmetologist and am very capable of painting my own nails, However, I was tanning next door to VIP nail Salon and thought I would go in for a POLISH CHANGE. I have acrylic nails which were just impeccably done by Eva at King Philip Nail Salon 2 days ago. All I wanted was to have MY OWN POLISH (which I brought with me) applied OVER the color that I had on my nails. NO REMOVAL OF POLISH, NO FILL, NO FILE, NO SOAKING, NO CUTICLE CUTTING, NOTHING ELSE. Just slap the gel color on top, cure with UV light and I'm DONE. The girl did a nice job polishing my nails, so I gave her a $5 tip...I go to the front to pay and the woman says that will be $30...I said "WHAAAAAT?!? Are you serious?!?" I said "I just had polish put on over my existing polish and I BROUGHT MY OWN polish!!!" She said yes, we charge you for a full set, regardless. I said again "Are you serious?!? Come on guys I'm a Cosmetologist, I'm not an idiot!!!" At that point I was in a hurry and decided that obviously they were just desperate and evil and they needed the money more than I did. When it's good...it's good, but when it's bad...oh man, it's really bad! This particular day I got the honeymoon spa pedicure and regular manicure. The pedicure starts with a honey moisturizer and Saran wrapped legs, followed by some steam, exfoliation, callous removal, and the normal clipping, filing, and finally a 10 minute massage. This is where my series of disappointments began. He set a timer, but in my case he did 7 minutes of my massage and walked away. I was bummed...I don't know about you, but that's my favorite part and every SECOND counts...especially if you're paying for it. Then came the callous remover. This gel is supposed to go on the BOTTOM of your feet. Well, he put it on top too, and I literally (a week later) still had a chemical burns on my feet. My final, wave the white flag moment, came when he tried to do a French pedicure. He tried 4 times on one foot, and three times on the other, before one of the other woman came by and did it for him. Thank the Lord because my butt was falling asleep on the chair. This whole ordeal kept me there for 2 1/2 hours... I'm giving three stars because I truly believe what happened to me is not "customary". I spoke to a few other customers, and they love this place! I also enjoyed the free shoulder and neck massage.
