Thumb nail broke after two days

Sloppy, over whelming chemical smell, slow service. What a horrible experience. I went for a gel pedicure and dip polish change. The two services exceeded 2.5 hrs and majority of that time was waiting IN the chair for the tech who was bouncing between three clients. The results were so sloppy, my dip nails started to chip within 2 days and by day 8 most were damaged badly. I am not in a laborious profession, and have been getting my nails done in gel/dip for over two years and I have never had such a poor experience at a salon. Photos attached of craftsmanship.

Very sore from this poorly done mani.

After not coming here for many months, I was in a time crunch and tried to give them one last try. BIG mistake. The tech absolutely butchered my fingers around the nail beds (photo attached of the worst & most painful one) and my fingers are extremely sore today. I will never come here again. Stay away from this awful place.

    I asked for this shape

Every-time i go here it's a problem. The only good ones are the owner and july other than that it's not even worth it! And i was charged 60 for this..... i would not recommend at all

Two broken nails after 2 days

Got a refill on Thursday, had 9 nails by Friday and woke up with only 8 by Saturday. Did not last at all, acrylic minimal and shaved down too much. Girl that did my pedicure rushed. I also only seen the other pedicurist wipe the seat down after a client did not see anyone doing nails do such. I will never go here again, they suck entirely I should've listened to the reviews.

By far the best salon i have been to in my year of living in Rhode Island, the service was fast and hassle free .. my nails were exactly what i wanted

Horrible job. Nails were in pain from the lady ripping off the old nails. I don't recommend this place is brand new but they are horrible

Update: the gel on my nails completely popped up when I tried to open a soda today. By the end of the day, 3 nails had popped off.

They always greet you with a smile, make great conversation, and genuinely care about their clients. You never feel rushed and they always make you feel comfortable and welcome. I have ingrown toenails, so pedicures can be painful if they're not done properly. Paula and Leah take such great care of me that my toenails never hurt after an appointment. They are gentle, thorough, and really know what they're doing. Not only are they talented, but they make every visit enjoyable. I would highly recommend either of them to anyone looking for a great pedicure and exceptional service.

Pedicures are still great, but during my last visit for nails, my tech put two of my tips on crooked which happens, but they can be reshaped before the clear polish goes on. He didn't bother and I didn't notice until it was too late. I broke two nails in the first week, which doesn't happen to me, unless it's time for another appointment. When I stopped by to have them fixed, the receptionist said my tech was busy and she wasn't sure if the other (available) tech would fix them for me... What? She ultimately fixed them, but she did the bare minimum to remove the old tip extension and glued a new one on top resulting in chunky, uneven nails that clearly stood out from the rest. She was very nice though and didn't charge me anything. I still tipped her $10, even though she told me not to worry about it. The receptionists have treated me like I'm an inconvenience every time I've gone in, but I kept trying because the place is so clean and so beautiful and maybe I just needed to find my new regular. I'm always polite, respectful and patient and have consistently tipped $20 on a $53 service regardless of quality. Oh, beware of hidden costs. Dip with tip extensions is $53, but I blindly paid $58 and learned this later when checking my bank account. I received no extra polish or other service, not even a hand massage or cuticle oil. I now doubt it was a mistake. Today was the final straw. I had booked an appointment online for 10:15 this morning. I was trying a different tech who was finishing another customer. I had never met her so I didn't know what she looked like, but she ended up being the person who had just finished, got up, walked away, came back out at 10:45 with her car keys and sunglasses and was about to leave when the receptionist remembered me and told her, "Oh, you have an appointment waiting," and pointed at me. Tech came over and said "Oh, what are you here for?" "Dip with tips." She answered "Ohhh, I don't do Dip. I'm allergic to Dip." When you book an online appointment, you have to select your service. I selected Dip. They should have known this would be an issue when I checked in. I had been waiting for 30 minutes for absolutely nothing, because they just stared at me and offered no solution. I stood up and started to leave when one of them uttered something. I said, "I'm good. Thank you," and left. I gave this place the benefit of the doubt multiple times. Lesson learned.

First and foremost, I visited because I had a gift certificate. I walked in around 3pm. It was pretty dead and I was immediately seated for a pedicure. My nail tech was super quiet, which I appreciate. There are no options here except gel or no gel. I like different options for the pedicure even down to what kind of lotion do you want? Some people are smell sensitive. Right down the road (and around the corner) is VIP Nails. I just like that they have options! (Such as Honeymoon pedicure, callus removal, etc...) She did a fine job but I can share I could do what she did at home. What I particularly like about pedicures is that they get all that dead skin off. She barely went to town. I opted to have a manicure as well since I had the gift certificate and I had enough time. Here's where things got funky... I was not offered which shape I wanted my nails to be. She chose rounded which I never go for. She did not lay out anything out for the manicure to happen over. Usually its a plush towel. She cut corners- one hand got cuticle lotion the other did not (she oddly sprayed it in the water?) While she was working on my nails a man came over asking about my phone. HE PICKED IT UP AND STARTED TOUCHING THINGS!! ON MY PHONE!!! I think he is the owner. At a certain point during my pedicure an odd noise started occurring. Like a dead animal wail- it was him singing. Nobody else was flinched, it must be a common occurrence. I did pay attention to him and he likes to have a good time. Hey- good for you. I like having a good time too but I don't appreciate you touching my phone. The towels used to dry me off were like old rags, tattered and rough. Sitting at the drying station, which are very old, the amount of funk in the fans was gross. Bottom line: If you are looking to be pampered- head to VIP. If you want the job done and cheaply, Head to Magic and leave your phone out.
