I live near by & loved having a place were i could get my weekly blow outs. After trying Blo a handful of times I just had to stop giving them my hard earned money. Don the owner/ manager is the main reason I no longer feel comfortable booking this place. He is incredibly rude to his staff and he is extremely unprofessional. The last time i decided to book a blow out i arrived I waited about 10 minutes and got seated right away. The woman who was doing my hair was sweet and was doing a great job. A few minutes later Don arrived, he approaches me out of no where and yells what time did you come in! I then let him know what time i arrived for my appointment. He then starts verbally abusing the hair stylist in front of me. Telling her a bunch of unprofessional things right in front of me & the rest of his customers. Never coming back. There was so much product put in my hair which weighed it all down which is opposite of what I asked for. I wanted volume and got a bunch of product. Also i was charged for extended time despite having short, wavy, and thin hair. I feel that this was mostly due to the stylist taking their time to wash my hair...leaving products in to soak. Everyone is so welcoming and they always try to accommodate knowing that my schedule is so busy with school and Work, which I appreciate the salon is so cute. Received a call from Manager Don less than 24 hours before my appointment to tell me that I needed to come in earlier and that my hair would be more expensive and take longer because they have a file from 2012 saying my hair needs extended time. I explained that my hair is short now 12 years later and I no longer have extensions. He asked me if I knew a certain person from Sierra Canyon School, I said no. (Very odd) Then he said if I come in and they look at my hair and decide they can't do my hair, I'll be turned away. I have shoulder length mixed curly hair that DryBar does in 30 minutes. Don proceeded to tell me that the stylist I was assigned Nazeli could not do my "kind of hair" and that I would have to come in earlier to be with Selma. I said I would try and he said there is no try, you either do or you don't and if you don't he will charge my credit card. He then said "I'm canceling your appointments because I'm the owner and can do what the f*** I want to do" The hung up on me. I was speechless. The phone number that called me was from Eric Abbe but if Don is truly the owner, he is the most unprofessional person I've ever encountered. I found this gem on yelp and decided to make a same day appointment. I usually go to the other dry bar in studio city or encino but it was a far drive from my home. This place is very similar to dry bar and is closer to my house. They took me in right away. I got Laura as my stylist and she is awesome! She used her nails on my scalp while shampooing me which I love! It was so relaxing. She washed it squeaky clean. Then I told her I just wanted my blow dry straight with curved ends and she exceeded my expectations. She pays close attention to detail. I really loved my experience here. We took my mom to Blo for a shampoo, conditioning and diffusing. My mom's hair is thinning and curly. When we walked in Don greeted us, offer us some mimosas and they started shampooing my mom's hair immediately. He was welcoming, attentive and charming. Soso was my mom's stylist. She was patient and made sure my mom got exactly what she wanted. The shop was clean and very cute! At the end of her service, Soso took my mom outside to take pictures of her hair and they presented her with a long stemmed rose for Mother's Day! They made her feel very special. I tried another stylist and the stylist did not listen to my wants and needs.
