Came here 4/21/26 based on high ratings for a special occasion. I asked for a brunette base, highlights, and a haircut. After 5.5 hours and $350 + tip, my gray hairs in the front were still completely visible--the main reason I came in. When I brought it up, I was told I should have specifically asked for gray coverage, which should be part of a basic consultation or at minimum asking the client if this is something they want. I also had uneven, patchy highlights. I returned the next day for a fix, requested a different stylist, and was denied. They said the same person could fix it all they needed to do was tone it down a bit, and cover the greys The "correction" resulted in my hair being taken darker overall, with the highlights essentially gone. I paid for highlights and left with dark hair. They told me eventually it should lighten down but I'm not seeing any improvement it's still really dark. To make matters worse I also left with visible dye on my forehead something I wouldn't expect after paying this price at a salon. Very disappointing experience and not one I would recommend I honestly wanted to cry. I really would have expected a partial refund or a proper correction by a more experienced stylist. read more

Where is the TEN stars?!? Here is a full story... My previous hairstylist retired after 30 years of me going to him! Does anyone know the feeling of being lost when a three decade relationship has ended.... And on March 1, 2025 I went to another hairdresser and within 6 weeks I had 3 treatments. Yeah I agree it's a lot but it was my choice (no negative comments here pls - again it was my decision) on getting my hair highlighted plus my hair can handle the overwhelming chemical treatment. However, even after 3 treatments I wasn't happy with the result. Then heaven opened its door and I found TK Salon! Went had my consultation and a month later (I had to reassure Hang that my hair can handle the chemicals - lots of pleading I might add here) got my appointment! After 7 hours later in the chair.... Shockingly disappointed. I do NOT recommend getting your hair cut by Hang. My mom and I have been coming here for years, which is why this experience was so upsetting. I explained exactly how I wanted my hair cut, but she cut off far more than I asked for. One side of my hair is about two inches shorter than the other, and it's impossible to style or fix now. The same thing happened to my mom. Her hair was cut so short that it can't even be layered anymore. Another issue is the wait time. Even when you have an appointment, you can end up waiting for hours. This was a very frustrating experience. Unfortunately, I feel like I wasted both my time and money. read more

I don't recommend the salon if you have damaged hair, they are extremely rough even after I told them how damaged my hair already is they were still extremely rough on my scalp and they combed my hair with a small comb while it was still wet, causing a lot of breakage and still charged me $200. My hair was noticeably thin after my appointment. Definitely don't go here. read more

I had to look that up after reading your response because I've never heard of one let alone asked for one. I've never been nor have I ever claimed to be a hair stylist. I'm starting grad school next year. Your response is filled with utter and complete lies. Shame on you for taking this approach after butchering my hair rather than apologizing. The one thing I made clear was wanting to be able to have my hair in a ponytail. Your cut makes that impossible without bobby pins. We agreed on long layers, not a bob?! I have never dyed or bleached my hair, it was not damaged in any shape way or form. I just was sharing a previous experience with a less than ideal haircut because all I wanted was to walk out feeling confident and satisfied. This is no way to respond to my (honest) review. Heard about this place on yelp, and to be honest I'm shocked at how it's so highly reviewed. TK rushed me through the conversation about what I wanted to my haircut and proceeded to chop off half. My hair is not cut straight, and the layers are all choppy and wrong. He was looking out the window for a fourth of my apt, and I left crying. He asked me if I liked the length after it was all gone, and I didn't even know what to say. It's going to probably take me a year to grow my hair out. This was the worst decision I've made for my curly hair. I've been growing it for years and it got down to my butt. When I reached out about my concerns, they denied cutting off my length and then doubled down later on and refused to refund. As you can see from the replies they aren't even sorry and deny cutting off length despite the pictures. They don't care about if you're upset or not, they just care about being right. She talks over you and doesn't listen to your wants, and I believe that is the worst quality a stylist can have. I'll be spending another few years trying to get the length back but I am absolutely heartbroken. The guy stylist cut good according to my pix i showed to him. The only thing that he didn't cut too thin that i wanted too, but he trimmed the edge & reshaped shorter my hair. Highly unorganized, inaccurate with records and pricing and never fixed the initial issue the business owner agreed to correct for free. The text messages and aggressive, interruptive phone calls received from the owner were distasteful and contradicting. The wife who is the stylist provides a quote, while the husband calls with an unprofessional demeanor saying the quotes change daily. When asked to provide an average reference price, he refused to do so. My conclusion from that call is you don't know what the general cost. I shared feedback: Be transparent to your customers. Value their business and rectify any misinformation. Don't drop price increase bombs on your customer the day before the appointment. The owner wasn't receptive to the feedback and can greatly improve his communication skills and business EQ. read more

First I want to say, I don't think this is a bad salon, but I had a bad experience and will not return. I have very thick, way, & frizzy hair. The stylist here are not suitable to treat my hair. If you have thin straight hair and want a decent haircut and blowdry with good service, by all means come here. I asked the stylist (forgot her name) to fix my hair because it was so choppy (I could tell she was trying but she just didn't know how to deal with my hair). Heng came to cut it and make it even, she took less than 2 minutes and did a sloppy job, but it was more even. She had a really bad attitude about it too. Overall: if you have thin, straight hair, this place is decent. If your hair is more high maintenance and you have high standards like me, avoid at all costs. read more

Thanks to Tawnya, I had a wonderful experience at TK salon. I was in my seat from 9:15am-3:00pm for a cut + balayage + curtain bangs + blow dry/styling. Wow! Tawnya did an amazing job. She was so patient and did not rush through the process at all. She explained everything as she went. A very thoughtful stylist who cared about what I want. I had some hesitation with getting bangs and going too bright/light on the balayage. She was very reassuring and patient with me. Answered all of my questions and was so informative about how to care for my hair. It's been over a year since getting my hair cut, colored and professionally styled. This was such a great experience. I'm fairly low maintenance when it comes to hair so I showed up with very virgin hair! If you text the contact number on the Yelp page, you will receive a quick follow up from TK asking for a photo of your current hair and desired hair style. TK will ask if you have a preferred stylist in mind and what date and time you have available. You can ask for an estimate, as well. The salon will ask for a deposit once your schedule a date and time. So be prepared for that! They take Zelle and venmo. The deposit will go towards your overall cost. So no worries there! My total cost with cut + color was $450 without tip. It's a bit more than I usually spend on my hair but 100% worth it. I'm very, very happy with the outcome. Do not bleach with Han! Shockingly disappointed. I have colored my hair with Han several times for roots. However this time she bleached my hair...burned my healthy never bleached hair before. Put a compete different color of which I asked her. Upon seeing her mistake she try to put several other colors only to make it worse. She charge me so much money and took all my time. I think Hang is a superhero. I have two amazing experiences with Hang. For context: I have thick, mostly straight, Asian hair. The first time, I got my hair cut to shoulder length and got an ashy light brown balayage. The result was amazing. That grew out, life got busy, covid-19 happened, and I stopped taking care of my hair. Then this summer, I decided I wanted to get my hair done again. It was an easy decision to go to Hang again because I had seen magic happen before. Just in one session (that took several hours), she gave me the exact color and style I wanted. So many people have given me compliments and have asked me where I got my hair done. Hang is the BEST at creating light colors for stubborn black asian hair, like mine. Lastly, besides Hang's obvious great skills with hair, she is a very sweet lady. She doesn't make you feel uncomfortable by talking too much nor treats you like an invisible person either. She also gives great advice on how to take care of your hair, and she doesn't make you feel forced to buy one of the hair products at her salon. I texted Hang to make an appointment with her and even though it was my first time, I still felt so taken care of even prior to coming in. I sent a picture of what I wanted and she was able to give me an estimate which was nice. This process was super long because she had to do a color correction from my last hair coloring from a different place, plus I had pretty long hair lol. I spent about 7 hours there but I was verryyyy taken care of! She also suggested what she thought would look best on my hair. She used really high quality products with me, as they do in this salon! Wow, it had been more than a year since my last haircut and I was really overdue for my annual cut. Like everyone else had said, they moved their salon to a new location and it is so much nicer! It's in the same plaza as Vons, Starbucks, and Chase so there is plenty of parking (and convenient for errands). As someone who had gone to their salon when they first started in Reseda, I'm glad to see their business is booming! Now thave other staff and hairstylists there too! In a teamwork setting, I had my hair washed by a lovely lady, Hang cut my hair, and lovely lady blowdrying my hair, and Hang doing her finishing touches! I'm very happy with my medium layered haircut and blow dry as expected! Sometimes, the customer service can go down when it gets too busy, but that was not the case for Hang and Kim. They were both very nice and willing to accommodate my sister and me with our back-to-back appointments. If you're looking for a new hair stylist, please look elsewhere... just kidding! Hang is absolutely phenomenal. Her balayage technique is magic and her hair cutting skills 10/10. I've come to her before for haircuts, but this was my first time coming in for a balayage. I asked for ash grey and a textured cut with minimal face framing layers. Before I came in, my hair was beyond brassy and dry, yet Hang was able to maintain the integrity of my hair even though we bleached it even more. The salon is ran by her and her husband (he cuts hair too!) and they are the nicest people. They're taking proper precautions due to covid with dividers between the chairs and proper sanitation. Even while I was in the chair, they would space everybody out so no one was directly next to each other. If you're looking for a new hair stylist and to support small business, come here! read more

I was long overdue for a haircut and found TK Salon on Yelp. My friend also recommended it to me so I decided to give it a try. I made an appointment via text message (so easy!) and was able to get in the same week with Hang. I showed her a few photos of the look I was going for and left the rest in her capable hands, since I trusted her opinion as to what would look good with my hair type and face shape. It turned out great! Hang is also super sweet and easy to talk to. Total price for a cut for my long hair with wash and blow dry was $50 (not including tip). It's cheaper if you opt out of the wash and blow dry. Very reasonable especially considering the additional precautions they are taking for COVID. Everyone wears a mask and they have clear dividers between each station. There were only 3 stations in use at a time but the waiting area did get a little crowded when I was leaving; however there is the option to wait outside if you don't feel comfortable waiting indoors. There is plenty of free parking since it's in a large strip mall/shopping center. I'll be back next time I need a cut! read more

This was such a disappointing experience. This is not directed towards Hang or his wife, but to a stylist that works there. Hang and his wife do an amazing job and I wish I would've waited until one of them was available. I asked for an ashy blonde balayage and I walked out with golden, orange hair. I went in for my appointment at June 29th. I took those photos on July 17th, roughly only 2 weeks after I got it done. I've gone blonde before. Never have I ever been left with orange hair. I've especially never been given orange roots or a patch of unbleached hair. It stays the same color up until about a month or so. This is only after 2 weeks. I waited for it to lighten up as she said it would. I use Olaplex shampoo and conditioner only, so this is not a byproduct of my hair maintenance. This is how she colored my hair. I don't even want to imagine how it will look when the color fades and turns brassy. After I told her it's orange in my initial text (Jul 15) she said we discussed that she will try to get it as close to the color as possible. Yes, of course I agreed to that because I wanted her to be as close as possible to the photo I sent!! Duh!! I didn't expect her to go the complete opposite of what I asked for. Please take a look at the photos I've attached to which she claims is close to the color I sent her. Does it look close? Is the gradient from root to hair the same? Is the dimension close to what I asked? Is the color remotely close? I'm not even going to nitpick it here because the photos already say a lot. She also said it will need one more session to get it to that color to which she did NOT disclose to me at the appointment. She only said it will lighten up!! What?! Hang has done ash blonde balayage on me before in one session with no damage!! For almost $400 worth of service, I have to spend more money to fix it on my own? Incredible. Maybe next time, I'll bleach my own hair to save money since a salon experience would've yielded the same results anyway. Or maybe next time, try to get to the color or remotely the same color a client asked for. read more
