Went on a first date to black market Birria. This part is important. So my date wanted to take me here and originally wanted to go to the location in the heights. So we went there and saw it was moved and tried two other places to eventually find it at the galleria conservatory. Thankfully the date was going well while vibing in the car that driving around wasn't an issue. I got the quesabirria barbacoa tacos. And he got the quesabirria chicken tacos. Each were about $13 for 3 tacos I enjoyed it and it's some of the better Birria I've had in houston with a good spice. Still not the best ones I've ever had but good. The cheese could have more flavor and the consume could have a better depth of flavor which would in turn make the Birria better. The wait wasn't long and you order and then they text you when the food is ready. Nice system. read more

12:30 outside the Houston convention center on a record setting heatwave this truck and about 8 others braved the humidity to avail themselves to a couple of thousand conference goers. Glad they did! I'm a birria fan and was hoping to try their Quesabirria taco trio, but the friendly staff advised they were out (or it was too hot for frying tacos) and had only their #2 which is essentially a birria quesadilla ($14.95). That still hit the spot! While the tortilla was soft (almost soggy) it foretold its inner contents: generous amounts of slightly spicy and juicy shredded beef, along with melted cheese, all layered edge-to-edge, inside of a 12" folded and cut-in-half tortilla. Whew! Condiments included diced cilantro, onion, and radishes. A small cup of au jus completed the entree. Grab napkins and enjoy! read more

Stumbled across this food truck at the Bayou City Arts Festival and thought the birria nachos sounded good so we gave them a try. The man who took my order was kind and funny and I thought the price of the nachos was very fair. The birria and the rest of the toppings were actually very good and there was enough to last down to the last chip, which I very much appreciate. The reason I gave this truck 3 stars is the chips were very stale. The toppings were delicious and it would have been amazing if they were paired with some much better chips. Instead, I almost resorted to just eating the toppings with a fork. The food: I got the quesobirria tacos, which coke with 4 tacos, and they were delicious. The meat was cooked nicely as it wasn't dry or chewy. It had plenty of melted cheese and had a slight kick as well. It all worked very well together, especially with the consomé! The consomé was flavorful and had some chunks of meat in it as well. The service: the staff were very friendly and answered any questions I had. The food came out at a reasonable time. I didn't have to wait long at all, as there weren't many people there. The hubs and I stopped by 8th Wonder Brewery and just happened to find this food truck opening for lunch out back. We ordered the Queso Birria Tacos. (Comes with 4. We chose 2 beef barbacoa and 2 chicken birria) The cheese, meat and tortillas were super tasty. But add the pickled onions, cilantro, chopped onions and radish. Wow. So me and this edible chocolate bar I call my wife decided to do a Birria crawl... We started up in spring and made our way south... 4 stops later we arrived. The atmosphere is perfect, the sun was out but it didn't preheat the patio to 375 so we were pretty chill... The Birria tacos are literally happiness embodied. They are even mentioned in the constitution... the right to life liberty and the pursuit of Birria Tacos... or whatever James Madison said... This post comes to you after having been there 3 times and not once did they disappoint. The only downfall about this place is the wait time for your order combined with the fact that they are calling your name from the window. If you are sitting at a table inside or too far from the truck you may not hear them. If it's busy you can see how 15 people crowding the truck waiting for orders can be a little uncomfortable. They should invest in a simple bullhorn and then they'll be on top of the game... read more

I don't even drink beer but i fight for parking near the brewery just so i can get a spot to get some tacos from this food truck. I really wanted to try it out but was very skeptical of the three star rating and reviews about lack of cheese and flavor/spice. I decided to go anyway. I showed up 30 minutes after they opened. The food was BOMB. Seriously! I ordered the quesobirria tacos. They were HUGE and filled with cheese and meat. I even requested salsa to make it even spicier, but it didn't need it. Came here for dinner after seeing the awesome pics on Instagram. Sadly my food didn't resemble the amazing dishes I saw online. The birria tacos didn't come with nearly enough cheese, and the cheese was honestly what I was looking forward to the most. The tortillas also felt a little over cooked. The burrito and quesadilla had more cheese than the tacos, which made them taste a lot better. My favorite overall was the quesadilla. We stopped here on a whim - weren't even planning on eating but had to try! They recommended the quesabirria and it did not disappoint. We had to wait a bit but it was definitely worth it, and 8th wonder has a lot of things(and beers) to keep you entertained while you wait! The food itself- impeccable. As in I would request BLK MKT Quesabirria for my last meal on death row (or at least part of it). Greasy, cheesy, salty, savory, with the cutting freshness of raw onion, cilantro, and lime. Yes please. I personally think their birria is above average for Houston. And yes, the portion was big enough for a second meal and it reheat perfectly on day 2. Four stars because the service is not the friendliest but it's still my go-to birria place in Houston! read more

I can't Recommend this business because wow I just went to it today the gentleman working the stove top picked in his nose with his T shirt three times. I waited to say anything to see if he would wash his hands. Once he didn't, I proceeded to ask him to wash his hands because I saw him pick his nose three times with his shirt. He then responded back with " do I have to if I wear gloves". My response was okay, if you feel that is the correct and sanitary way to run this establishment may I record you saying it. And he said yes I can record him. Once I started recording him he changed up his stance on sanitation, which is fine with me as long as he washed his hands, I stayed until he washed his hands. I see all of the reviewers on here talking about the quality of food. Honestly, the food was pretty good for a quesadilla, fries, nachos. And even though it's not truly "Birria" it's just some good meat. They def do not truly make Birria. The real problem here is the ABSURD price. $15 for a quesadilla...that came with 2 slices of what a quesadilla should be ?? I'm sorry this is inexcusable especially as the only option at 8th wonder. This at any other true Mexican food truck or restaurant would get you a quesadilla and rice/beans/tacos/ etc This is ridiculous pricing and left a bad taste in our mouth as the only option at 8th after EB left. We went to food zone location across from big rivers. We were told 15 min wait. Turned out to be 45 mins later and when received food it was cold. I didn't see any employee wearing gloves or hairnets. Cashier has long goatee and it was blowing all over the place. I went last Thursday with a friend. We throughly enjoyed our Birria. It was my second time having one. Much different than the first one I had. BLK MRK makes theirs extra cheesy. I really like how the green spicy sauce pairs well with the birria. I couldn't tell what chile they use but never the less, very delicious. The customer service was nice. Met some friends at 8th Wonder early afternoon. I hadn't had lunch so I was starving. I went out back to the food trailer and stood looking unenthusiastically at the menu. There weren't a lot of options. And wtf is "Birria". I grew up in San Antonio, and have traveled all around Mexico (even living there for a short time). I'm fairly versed in Mexican food, yet have never heard of it. But with no other options nearby, I ordered the tacos. I had low expectations, which may account for the shock of the explosion of flavors in my mouth starting with the very first bite. OMFG, these were delicious! It came with a side of broth which I initially thought was beans or something. Then someone explained I was supposed to dip the tacos in it. WOW! Didn't think they could get any better. I'm currently back in Mexico and have tried two different Birria places, haven't yet found anything as good as these at Blk Mkt. Surprised by some of the comments about the staff's appearances. The food is exceptional. While the employees on the truck do appear to be hipsters I don't see where that has any bearing on the quality of the food. The truck was super clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. They wore gloves and hairnets and the gentleman with the long beard was running the register he was not cooking. Inspite of that he still wore a hat and a hairnet and for people cooking in 105 degree temps with 90% humidity trapped in a steel box they looked very clean and sanitary. The food has incredibly rich flavor. I am not a huge cheese fan but thought the Quesabirria was incredible. The tacos were full of flavor and the sauce was just a touch of perfection. I didn't understand how they ended up with red tortillas. I asked the guy who took my order about them and he opened the door on the truck and let me watch them make some. I thought the process was awesome. They mix up a custom seasoning sauce and dip the tortillas for flavor prior to putting that last sear on them. Will definitely return. read more

So We went for the first time today and it wasn't that great ! The meat or taco itself missing seasoning and have to add extra cheese . Presentation is really good but flavor doesn't match unfortunately. Staff wasn't super helpful either wouldn't make any simple modifications to tacos or fries like "no onion" which is easily done at any real Mexican taco place and this place is more expensive than those.
