    Outdoor seating with my idiot

Oh my GAWD I love this place. I've been here a few times now and the prices are amazing. The atmosphere as well. I can tell that the person who manages this place puts a lot of care and joy into the service and atmosphere. The plants in the small and covered outdoor area are a great reason to stop by for a cool drink. Their inside with loud and dreamy music and soft blue lights are great for zoning out with company. Their fried tofu, fish balls, and everything really are such a treat as well. I cant believe I've lived in this neighborhood a year now and only just found out about them

Haven't eaten here, but the food smells good. I mostly just like the price to pour ratio

You can absolutely smell the fish and vinegar as soon as you walk through the door, which I think gives the place a very homey pub feel. I ordered a spiked peach Arnold Palmer, which I enjoyed (and it was pleasantly strong) and a glass of the house white, which was good for the price. Our server was very fast and attentive. To eat I got the tomato soup with a grilled cheese, which was absolutely fantastic. The soup was so creamy and flavorful, and I cannot imagine a better meal after spending all day walking outside in the rain. The fries were super crispy and I liked the batter. My partner and I shared some of their breadsticks, which were deliciously baked (fresh!) and came with a super refreshing basil crema and a nice tomato-y dip. Wonderful all. My partner ordered fish and chips, and was surprised to find that it is one large fillet of fish, not multiple pieces like you would typically expect. He said the fish was fine, but a little tough. Overall, a wonderful experience. I definitely hope to return. I highly recommend this place as a refuge during the cold winter months!

But the last few times I've stopped in for a meal, it feels like the food isn't quite as impressive as it used to be. Could be all in my head. Not sure. But it's always a nice spot to hang out and chat with friends, you can get seated quicker if you enter through Over & Out, which basically functions as an extension of the main Observatory, with it's own bar and pool tables.

One thing that bothered me though (and I know maybe I'll get hate for this), is I feel like some of the decor is tone deaf. They have a bunch of colonial men ceramic decor, but they partner with and serve food from a Filipino company. I'm Filipino and it was a bit offensive to me because even if the point of having them is trying to make fun of them, it's not really funny. We were colonized for over 300 yrs and still deal with the trauma from it. Please consider removing the colonial decor. I really enjoyed the bar and want to enjoy it in the future, but I don't think it's necessary to have those things in the bar and doesn't add anything to how cool the bar is apart from that. UPDATE: the bar messaged me. They were super professional and kind in their response. I really appreciate that they were open to my perspective on the colonial items and said they will be removed. Thank you so much!! Looking forward to enjoying the bar in the future

I was just happy for a double Stoli and fresh fruit. I saw beer and wine being drunk and lots of mixed drinks people were happy with. Mine were poured well and priced super fair. The KJ for karaoke was super sweet and it seems like he can get you just about anything though I was late to join my lofty crew so I did one song only. FYI - you put your name with the KJ so he can add you to the queue, be polite and tip a buck or two and watch the screen giving a heads up when you are next. You then tell him what song you want. They have a pretty good sound system though it is set for singing on the stage so you get a lot of the sound when below the stage so it is hard to hear yourself. But, no one cares seriously - have a good time and sing some karaoke. I was joking with some sweet gals in the bathroom. One was debating on trying it for her first time. Best advice I can give you folks who are scared to sing... Chose a favorite - one of those songs people just love and the bar will gladly sing with you - especially later in the evening. Seriously, everyone is just there to have a good time and sure, if you can sing well - that is awesome too! If you want to sing a bunch, definitely go much earlier. I arrive just after 11 and it was probably an hour and a half after I added my name.
